I also asked for his pian sip (RM3.00)…and this, I would say, was good, as good as any of the good ones I have had around town.

Ordered their famous sweet and sour fish. This is o chio (ikan bawal hitam) for RM 26. It’s a pretty good sized fish and it’s been deep fried so all the bones and fins are edible. I love their sweet and sour sauce too

The long beans fried with egg…was so very fragrant – how come we do not get that when we fry our own at home, I wonder. I would prefer slicing the vegetable more thinly though so it would be much easier to chew.

I ordered the dumpling soup (RM5.00)…which turned out to be very much to my liking. I loved the very nice clear soup, no msg overload and I enjoyed the dumplings too which is actually saying a lot for someone who is not into those 睡觉 (shuijiao) or jiaozi (餃子) or whatever they are called.

This was something new – we had not had it before…their leek fried with egg…and yes, it was very nice. When I ordered that, I had expected it to appear as an omelette dish but I guess the cook did not have that same thing in mind.

For our soup dish, I ordered what we called luak chai (Szechuan preserved vegetable/榨菜) and pork leg soup……and much to my surprise, my girl said she had never had that before and yes, she loved it! I guess we can always cook our own at home for her to enjoy – somehow, for reasons unknown, the mum never did.

I also saw these ribs (RM13.00)…and asked for those too – coated with red glutinous wine lees (ang zao/chao or 红槽) and deep fried. They tasted great and my girl loved them very much. On my part, I loved the meat just that I was not too keen on having to deal with the bones.

We had the fried black pomfret (ikan bawal hitam)…garnished with fried shallots and garlic and it was really good, so very fresh and nice

We had the bitter gourd omelette…which was so very good, nicer than elsewhere, I would say.
