We continued with our leisurely meal, chit-chatting, and thoroughly enjoying the taste of an Australian brunch in Johor Baru.
Equipped with warm shades of pink and pastel coral interiors and filled with tons of lush greeneries, they first started this place with the concept of a casual eatery but has recently revamped their menu to more of a full-fledged café.
From the team that brought you People & Places comes Routine by Soon! I would describe this as an almost fast food-esque (in concept rather than quality, because I think it is still pretty tasty & healthy) version of the original restaurant, but it’s great if you want a quick bite.
I would love to be back for more of Siong Tong Gai's signature steamed fish dishes in their special stock. I would want to try it with jade perch fish next time. Other dishes in the extensive menu are pretty good too.
Another popular choice is the Aburasoba, dry-style noodles tossed in rich oil sauce that may appear quite similar to the Chinese kon-lo-mee but clearly tastes like dry-tossed Japanese soba.
Overall, RBS is really worth the visit! They are also serving new menus now and then such as the rice bowls (which I have yet to try). Can’t wait to munch on them soon.
