Yam Okonomi Yaki (RM 19) One of the musts to have here is the Yam Okonomi Yaki. The Okomoni Yaki comes amazingly good as they are really flavourful and the taste is amazingly good and delicious.
Soft boiled egg with chicken mince miso, quite tricky to eat, as the inside it soft and flowy.
Aside, don’t miss out Toriden Tamago where these are their signature here. The Toriden Tamago (RM10), a soft-boiled egg served cold. The taste is simply awesome with the creamy runny egg.
For those who love hotpot (aka steamboat), Toriden is the place to be, for an authentic Japanese hotpot experience. Located on Level 4 of Isetan The Japan Store at The Table, one can savour the Mizutaki, a traditional dish originating from Japan's Hakata region, Fukuoka at Toriden. Every day, Toriden produce a luscious chicken soup by boiling farm fresh chicken for at least six hours to fully extract its flavours and natural collagen; this soup is the base of their chicken hotpot (Mizutaki).
Reasons to visit: Zen atmosphere, Japanese food, chicken hot pot, free flow of vegetables, no additives, in-house ponzu and Yuzu Kosyo, best Warabi-Mochi in town.
FYI Toriden’s mizutaki courses are available in Ume (RM120), Take (RM150) and Matsu (RM180). All of them feature the same mizutaki and appetizer, but the more expensive options have additional dishes such as chicken tempura, mentaiko and dessert.
