My Personal Opinion I would just stick to the roast duck (and probably roast goose) here...and forget about their secondary meats like siu yuk and char siew since the place is, after all, famous for their duck and goose.
Chen Chen serves a wide variety of roasts at competitive prices, even turkey and suckling pig.
The BBQ Pork was caramelised well.
The whole lunch cost RM20.50, pretty standard since May ordered Goose rice which already cost RM9 per plate. Despite the salty sauce for that day, I still find that it’s a pretty decent place to have Chicken rice in Pudu area. There’s a few more places around that serve about the same thing, but somehow as I said, I always ended up here. Hmm, maybe because both the boss and the lady boss is friendly? Hmm…maybe.
The excellent roast goose quarter (foreground) and roast duck (background). The roast goose had the rich taste of waxed meat, it's hard to describe such a unique flavour, other than to say that we totally relished it. Between the duck and the goose, the goose took centre stage, though the duck was pretty darn good too! There was no thick layer of fat under the shiny brown skin, yet the meat was succulent and tender. This combo truly was the best roast poultry I have ever eaten.
