A nice, comfortable, well run budget hotel.
This Dragon Boat Festival (端午节 Duan Wu Jie), celebrates the time-honored tradition with age-old traditional glutinous rice dumplings from The Hainan Story, perfect for a heart-warming family get-together and gifting!
Finally got to try Hainan Story after months of wanting to go. We started with simple Kaya Toast, Honey Butter Toast, Half Boiled Eggs and Kopi.
The Hainan Story has new bubble tea items with a collaboration with Baocha that will tempt even the most discerning bubble tea enthusiast. There are flavors like Hazelnut Earl Grey Milk Tea and Hazelnut Oolong Milk Tea for a melding of east and west.

For those who’re looking for a final taste of the bak kut teh, be sure to make reservations to secure a seat.
Overall, I have enjoyed the meal at Founder Bak Kut Teh. I like the addition of the new dishes, giving diners a more complete meal experience.
Overall, the food in Jubilicious is nicely curated.
Papasan 17 has become the family's hangout for reasonably priced delicious western fare though that is probably the only food and beverage outlet within the hotel that is spacious.
Today, their consistent quality over the years means they still remain a solid place for Bak Kut Teh, albeit with slightly more premium pricing.
This visit made me rethink my opinions about Papasan or why I even shunned it previously, a hidden gem with affordable and tasty western options. Now, bring on the local fare!
