What do We Like about Grub by Ahong & Friend? -Reasonably priced no frills steakhouse -Tasty steak and unique Yorkshire pudding
No better way to say I love you, than wagyu. We enjoyed our Wagyu NY Strip MB01 and Angus flanksteak from Grub by Ahong & Friends.
Don’t be fooled by its shop appearance and weird name, they actually serve one of the best steak in town at an affordable price. We are lucky to get a buy 1...
Verdict: With quite a high expectation to Grub and my dining experience was nothing less than spectacular. With such an affordable price tag, I have totally no complaint on the quality of the steak that I’ve tried (my dining companion had the Wagyu Rumpsteak Picanha and she loves it too).

The Taufu Fah Cheesecake came drizzled in a ginger syrup and topped with a small cube of ginger. It was light and not overly sweet. Both were good but between the two, I preferred the Taufu Fah Cheesecake and I finished most of it.
This is perfect as the wagyu Ribyeye (marble 5) @ RM 145 is perfect with their unique side of potato salad and Jambu Ulam., mild fatty to my liking, with their house special sauce.
Verdict: Go with an open mind and dress comfortably. I recommend the ribeye steak and el grande.
We ordered Grub's Beef Ragu Macaroni (RM16.50) and we were surprised by its generous portion. I loved the soft, tender, flavoursome beef with an assortment of mushrooms and other vegetables. It is topped with a generous sprinkle of Grand Padano cheese and herbs that adds more flavour to the dish.
For main I picked steak, the picture above is wagyu rump, wagyu ribeye is priced at RM 145 but they ran out that night. Again another spot on execution with no fuss and great ingredients. My partner in crime picked the local seafood bouillabaisse (RM 25) which is served with grilled white fish, clams, squid & prawns in lightly spiced seafood soup with pasta & sourdough bun. A comforting dish if you’re looking for something lighter. Also their sourdough bun was actually very good as well.
