A heritage stall onto the second generation. Be prepared – the owner was a bit gruff. But the kopi was really nice – layered and balanced in terms of bitterness and sweetness, having a good coffee fragrance. The kaya toast was like the Ya Kun one, so quite thin, crispy and with fragrant kaya.

The noodles were good – springy, eggy, with a nice truffle fragrance, although the truffle fragrance went off after a while. I recommend rationing the caviar with the noodles – it added a nice briny touch.

The truffle mushroom burger was quite a nice one, moist, rich, thick and fragrant with the truffle oil and mushroom sauce. The bun was soft and buttery, patty moist, smoky and slightly gristly. The package was well put together and very alluring. Nice.
J2 Famous Crispy Curry Puff is definitely deserving of its MICHELIN Bib Gourmand status, especially because the execution of their curry puffs is consistently good.
Despite a few little hiccups here and there, The Burger Coy is certainly a promising stall!
There were some hits and misses but they do make a rather delicious bowl of Braised Belly Rice. Perhaps with a few tweaks, their rice bowls would be something I’d come back for.
The braised meat had a good and balanced mix of fatty and lean meat, making it firm yet tender and aromatic with the braising sauce. The B’Fry was soft, fatty and savoury inside and crispy outside with the panko coating. The egg was also quite flavourful, but a bit overly firm.
