If you're a person who likes soya beans, you can pay Soylab 帅不离 a visit.
Tasty but premium soy based dessert, could get crowded after weekend dinner.
We were further blown away by the Signature Soyffle; though it required a 30-minute wait, we thought the wait was worth while. The Souffle Pancake was extremely light and fluffy; good on its own but even better (or richer) to enjoy with Soya Soft Serve (and a little bit of Honey).
Finally I get to order the combo with soy bean curd and soy drink at MYR 9.50 nett and the two toppings that we selected are red bean and glutinous rice balls. I am surprised to find that the each of the ball has different fillings - I think one filling is sesame seeds and the other filling is peanuts.
8.5/10. A nice modern take on a classic drink! They’ve got really nice desserts and they’ve got a REALLY trendy thing going on. I’m more of a fan of sweeter dessert options, but I can see why there is a buzz about this place.
Soylab Signature Soyffle Pancake at MYR 22 nett Compared to the two souffle pancakes that I have eaten so far, this soyffle pancake has a texture that is closer to a cake and it is sweet on its own unlike the previous two. It is moist and soft with a fine texture and more dense. I am ok with the texture but I don't like that it tastes sweet. It should be just very slightly sweet for the toppings to give it the sweetness. Now that it, itself is sweet, the toppings will make it sweeter. This pancake is made with soy and not milk.
Shuai Beancurd, 9.50 ringgit I certainly did enjoy this dish. It was a delightful dessert, something light but with a variety. The pearls were warm, soft and gooey, which is different from the ones I’d usually get from say Tealive? I think they were also coated with brown sugar syrup, so, whenever you get a pearl or two with a spoonful of curd and soy milk, there is that extra burst of sweetness that I liked a whole lot. The glutinous rice balls had peanut filling and this too was an awesome combination with the beancurd.
Apart from their delicious desserts, they also have soy bean drinks with boba toppings, making it a very trendy spot. Also, I must mention how incredibly polite and warm the service staff are, making the visit extra enjoyable.
