Personally, i feel that the food here is just average.
Spaghetti Aglio E Olio [RM18] The classic, but the hardest to master. They've got the right amount of everything(fried garlic, dried chili and olive oil). This is one good olio!
That slight hiccough aside, on to the dishes we sampled. We started with an excellent salad (simply titled Cinque) on the menu which combined lettuce, rocket, prosciutto and slithers of parmesan with a superb dressing.

Chew Jetty Cafe is one of the coffee shops that is packed with exciting Penang food. The 3 flavored wantan mee and also charcoal fried char koay teow.
Overall, the wantan mee here is nice and unique as you can have all 3 flavors in one plate. Most importantly, it is value for money as the portion is big. For those that would like to have more, just ask the friendly boss, Winner Ho and he will be more than willing to top up for you without additional charges.
讚哦!真的非常懷念,有機會再去檳城肯定去光顧。
I like their Tomyam Noodle here, not too spicy and you can choose your own ingredient.
🍜 Join us on a culinary journey through time as we visit Monster Wantan Mee, a legendary eatery that has been serving up classic Wantan Mee for 57 years! Originally located on Jalan Victoria and now nestled in Hai Leok Cafe 海隆茶室 on Pengkalan Weld, this hidden gem continues to delight patrons with its affordable yet delicious offerings.
Nevertheless. the RM 1 for the bowl of Wantan Soup is totally worth it. It comes with 10 pieces of Wantan with generous filling, and we can feel the pork aroma with every bite into the wantan. If you did not order noodle and only order a bowl of Wantan soup, it will cost RM 3.60 instead. This is a key factor that drives many returning customers perhaps?
The Char Koey Teow here is definitely up to Penang Island Standard (Open Lunch till dinner – close Wednesday) and they will custom it to your liking. They will prepare the Char Koey Teow with Duck Egg when cooking. Frankly while some purist and CKT fans prefer using duck eggs for its “superior aroma”, I just cannot feel the difference.
Our favorite place for Pizza and it is the best Pizza in Penang. The dough is very special and extremely crispy, pizza filling very special and delicious as well.
Yin’s Sourdough Pizza offers Neapolitan style pizza, baked in a stone oven, with a chewy slightly charred crust and ‘soup-y’ center. I had no qualms about the soup-y center and found the chewy crust to be utterly enjoyable. There is a slight tangy taste of the sourdough but not overwhelmingly so. Most enjoyable was the slow cooked tomato paste which married beautifully with the sweet zucchini and eggplants. The usual carnivore in me hardly missed the absence of meat in this vegetarian pizza!
There is so much space at the dining area and the open concept even extends to the open kitchen where you can watch the pizza maestro freshly handcraft your pizza to order. My jaw dropped when I spotted a few Tablets left (securely locked of course) on the long table for visitors to do a spot of casual browsing.
The Friday Poolside BBQ is priced at RM98.00 net for adults, and RM50.00 net for children and senior citizens.
甜点方面则是 Strawberry Bavarios With Passion Fruits Emulsion,它的口感既像蛋糕,也像慕斯。最后再点上一杯咖啡当结尾。
The Spice's Yuletide Western Set Dinner is served between 7:00pm and 10:30pm. There is a similar menu on New Year's Day.
It is a nasi lemak stall operated by Chinese located at Xen Teck Cafe along Weld Quay. You can select different dishes to complement the fragrant coconut rice (white rice is available too), but the fried chicken and their unique sambal is a must have! Do not underestimate the bit of seemingly not lethal. It is burning hot, yet a bit of it will spice up the flavour of the nasi lemak. On top of that, we really enjoyed the tenderness meat of the fried chicken, and a little char of it somehow enhanced its taste.
Chen Lau Tou (Uncle Tan) is a new stall at Heng Fatt Cafe. This is a new stall where the owner came back from Singapore to start his own business. Uncle Tan is selling fish head, fillet, or mantis prawn bihun in clear soup, tomyam, or dry fried version. The ingredients are fresh while the soup is flavourful, especially Tomyam.
The taste of Hokkien Mee here is very classic and nostalgic, the soup is cooked by charcoal while the chili paste is made from scratch. The taste of the Hokkien mee is balanced with shrimp and pork ribs flavoured while it is also topped with boiled shrimps which is savory and yummy.
Oh Kio is also known as 爱玉冰 in Chinese. Oh Kio is a dessert that is appetizing and refreshing. This dessert started in Taiwan and is well known to evert were in the World. Oh Kio Dessert which is located at Pengkalan Weld is one of the well-known places in Penang that serve nice Oh Kio, Cendol, and drinks. This stall has been up and running for 6 decades. With the hot and sunny weather, Oh Kio is one of the best he best for quenching thirst.
At Wei, they mix their own curry paste which makes their curry fish unique. The fish is caught fresh for that day which is also one of their selling points. Beside the Curry Fish Head, the Curry Crab and Signature Abalone Fish here also one of the attractions.
The Lam Mee broth carried the essential flavors and worked perfectly well with the lip-burning Sambal Belacan
If you'd prefer something soupish to warm your day, Chicken Dumpling Noodles may be your dish. The broth was clear and brimming with vegetable-sweetness. The Corn-flavor was especially bold and the soup was lightly-seasoned. Handy Spoon uses Spaghetti in lieu of Yellow Noodles/ Vermicelli Noodles... cooked to slightly soft (but not slouchy). The Dumplings were decent but some of us found them a tad too salty to our liking. Handy Pancake on the other hand, was probably the weakest dish amongst all we had that day. The Pancake was dry and the Chocolate Sauce did not manage to enhance the taste. We struggled to finish the dish.
其实这里还有其他配套,1 Set只需RM39.90起!!汤底和火锅食材通通在一个套餐里了,出到来一人才RM20。小编觉得这个比较值得。
Penang is famous for its Peranakan culture, particularly the well-known Baba Nyonya community. Established in 1933 as a kuih-specializing factory, Moh Teng Pheow Nyonya Koay expanded to include a storefront in 2016, showcasing a remarkable commitment to Nyonya kueh.
Moh Teng Pheow Nyonya Kuih has earned the prestigious Bib Gourmand status in the 2023 Michelin Guide KL and Penang list.
Moh Teng Pheow Nonya Koay was where we headed for our fix of Nonya Kuehs. Having visited Jason’s Nonya House and still craving for Nonya fare, we found Moh Teng Pheow Nonya Koay a popular venue for koahs such as Kueh Lapis, Kueh Talam and Kueh Bengka.
Lavish Fusion Bakery is located at a heritage shop along the bustling Victoria Street and is ornamented with pink walls, plants, and beautiful mural art which depict the elements of strong nature, tropical and beach vibes.
But on the other hand, Wild Berries Lemonade captured our heart with its amazing taste. A taste featuring the sour and sweetness that triggers the senses in unexpected ways, YUM!! Wild Berries Lemonade @ RM 17.20
Roasted chicken Green Curry at about MYR 28.5 where the green curry gravy is served in the very small glass container shown ini the photo.
The name "Tok Tok" originates from the onomatopoeic sound a chef makes while kneading noodle dough with a bamboo pole, a tradition still observed at the entrance of this establishment.
The taste of the wantan mee are almost the same as before despite the chewiness of the noodle not as much and the gravy is more starchy. As for the Char Hor Fun, the taste is packed with wok aroma.
Tok Tok Mee Noodle House, used to known as Hong Kee Wantan Noodle now is operate by the next generation where the legacy of bamboo noodle was passed down. The taste of the wantan mee are almost the same as before despite the chewiness of the noodle not as much and the gravy is more starchy. As for the Char Hor Fun, the taste is packed with wok aroma.
