I remember walking along South Bridge Road after having ice cream at Dopa Dopa Creamery and noticing a pretty crowded restaurant with an int...
The prawns were huge and fresh. And the soup had a proper kick. It was so yummy and addictive.
Gai yang was delicious. It seemed that the restaurant is known for this dish and the bird didn't disappoint. Meat was pretty tender and the marinate was quite tasty.
Recommended by Tan Hsueh Yun of The Straits Times. The Spicy Cai Poh Egg Crepe Roll was eggy, soft and crispy at the edges, paired with the saltiness and crunchiness of the chai poh. The Taiwanese Cold Noodles were refreshing and chewy, with crispy cucumber, and a creamy and rich sesame sauce. Nice.
The Place Located right next to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple along a shophouse is Breakfast Hola (早餐好了), a new casual Taiwanese eatery restaurant run by Taiwanese. Decked in simple wooden and meta…
Compared to the last Taiwanese breakfast we had in Cuppage, I will give my vote to that. Though the service is friendly, it's sad to say that the food here does not remind me of breakfast in Taiwan.
Ugly Coconut Egg Tart sure is yummy — just like our fathers who may have a hardy exterior but a soft side.
The highlight of the series is the specially commissioned Salted Egg Cookies (180g for S$19), which is created by Louisa Ho, the undisputed Bakery Queen of Hong Kong. This marks the first time the veteran baker is selling her baked goodies overseas.
Overall, the egg tarts offered were a great reminder of what we missed from Hong Kong and with the travel restrictions, it is great to be able to grab some authentic items without getting on a plane.
More importantly, I wanted to try their Patty Royale, which is a martini featuring a distillate from Impossible Meat. Admittedly, I had trouble detecting it, but it was the potent beverage that I needed tonight either way.
I enjoyed everything that i tried at Lumo.
LUMO's kitchen combines wood-fired cooking and modern methods kitchen to explore the nature of dichotomies.
If you are visiting Singapore, do have the uniquely Singapore diamond egg tart on your bucket list. Try it at Tong Heng - in the sweet eggy pastry you will be taking home food memories and a bit of the Singapore story.
Tong Heng is renowned for its Egg Tart (鸡蛋挞, SGD1.70).
Tong Heng is a traditional pastry shop which still makes things the old school way.
FIVE-TEN being run by kitchen wizards have recently taken to putting some new-fangled dishes to their solid menu including Steamed Live Lobster ($15) and Poached Cod in Soy Sauce ($15); fantastic for those who love affordable luxuries.
For some reasons, their tripe was served on skewers. These were the only things on skewers. But they were good.
Start small, which we did and will repeat the next round when we return. It gets crowded particularly during lunch time, so be there early or be prepared to queue.
It will be a good place for coffee as well as some other local food after exploring Chinatown.
Addictive cuppa old school Nanyang kopi - roasted pure coffee beans with body, aroma and flavour packing a solid caffeine kick.
Overall I have enjoyed the new menu at Boruto. While there are some minor tweaks needed in some dishes, the concept works for me.
Overall I have enjoyed the new menu at Boruto. Compared to its previous menu which felt more like omakase dishes catered for individual diner, the new menu feels more communal.
Lastly, we sampled two desserts and by then, we were pretty stuffed. It's not often that I see warabi mochi on the menu but they have it here at Boruto. Made of bracken starch, and coated with kinako powder. It has a wobbly soft-jelly like texture and sweetness from the sauce. Almost like eating water.
All in all, I’d the variety on the menu is really quite overwhelming, considering the size of the kitchen.
Overall, Ikura @ Fook Hai has an extensive menu and you will be able to find something that suits you.
A cozy and intimate hidden gem at Fook Hai Building.
Overall, we enjoy our tasting at Chocoelf speciality café and learn more about their creations. As homegrown chocolate-maker, they are inspired to incorporate local flavours into their product. Some of them we like, some we don’t. Since taste is subjective, do visit Chocoelf to try out their product.
Food at Li Ji Chuan Chuan Xiang is fresh, premium, and yummy. The variety of hotpot soup bases are delicious, and the skewers are made with market fresh ingredients. Chef Ng Sen Tio (黄胜潮) heads up the kitchen, bringing exquisite fine private dining dishes to the ala-carte menu, setting Li Ji Chuan Chuan Xiang apart from all other hotpot restaurants.
So the mechanical sounding name here apparently comes from the fact that they used to be an events space with a cafe attached (181 South Bridge Road #01-05, 6222-2554).
It still tasted fine.
We’re officially obsessed with the ultra-tender beef slices in the beef pho at May Pho Culture, not to mention the yummy spring rolls! Read more.
Their extensive menu has amazed me, Jin Yu Man Tang Dessert is now on my list of dessert places to visit if I'm looking for some refreshment after meals.
Rough Guys Coffee at South Bridge Road Chinatown
The Loft Cafe at Chinatown bakes their own desserts, and provides a lovely space to watch the world pass you by.
I’m definitely coming back again, but the next I’m going to hop to Wimbly Lu and Creamier!!!
I love the ambience and interior of the cafe. It offers a great place to relax, with a view of the street.
Mish Mash is a place that I’d return to: the food is well thought out and interesting without sacrificing the flavours and the drinks are fun. I also like the cosy vibe of the place, suitable for a small-group intimate hang. Will recommend it to my friends and bring them here.
Frenzlink Cafeteria is better known as the $2 Kopitiam in CBD as the owner serves 8 different kinds of noodles, at $2 each!
Enjoying Chinese cum local food in a comfy environment and yet informal setting, I will highly recommend JÙN @ Capri By Fraser. It will not disappoint.
We like the space here at Muse Amuse, ideal for group gatherings as there are no two-seaters tables here. While some of the dishes are pretty unique in terms of the combination of ingredients, not all resonate well with us.
Overall I felt that the food at Muse Amuse has potential and I can taste the passionate in their creation However I think more thoughts are needed to refine the dishes.
