It is great that the Omakase options for lunch or dinner are quite competitively priced at Moss Cross Tokyo Singapore. I wouldn’t say there is a particularly memorable dish for me, but safe to say nothing tastes too bad either.
It will be a good place for coffee as well as some other local food after exploring Chinatown.
All in all, the meal we had was reasonable and definitely, dishes could have done better. Perhaps this is only their first week of operation and they could be just overwhelmed by the crowd with their manpower.
That bowl above tasted like it looked, being moderately sour, spicy, and salty without being excessive. There were a number of configuration options, including luosifen, but I got the basic version that came in a set with roujiamo, the latter of which was more interesting to me than the noodles given that the meat was extra fatty while the pastry was crispy enough that flakes got scattered all over my lap as I ate it.
Mish Mash is a place that I’d return to: the food is well thought out and interesting without sacrificing the flavours and the drinks are fun. I also like the cosy vibe of the place, suitable for a small-group intimate hang. Will recommend it to my friends and bring them here.
Rough Guys Coffee at South Bridge Road Chinatown
Recommended by Tan Hsueh Yun of The Straits Times. The Spicy Cai Poh Egg Crepe Roll was eggy, soft and crispy at the edges, paired with the saltiness and crunchiness of the chai poh. The Taiwanese Cold Noodles were refreshing and chewy, with crispy cucumber, and a creamy and rich sesame sauce. Nice.
Overall, we enjoy our tasting at Chocoelf speciality café and learn more about their creations. As homegrown chocolate-maker, they are inspired to incorporate local flavours into their product. Some of them we like, some we don’t. Since taste is subjective, do visit Chocoelf to try out their product.
