I finally tried the basic bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich from Eggslut today.
Eggslut debuted in Singapore with huge fanfare and huge lines, up to a 2 hour wait, so I do what I always do when these things first show up – wait a few months to let the hype die down. A fe…
Almost half a year ago, there was a massive hype for Eggslut ; a popular eatery from Los Angeles which was opening its very first branch in ...
One of the most talked about new places to eat in Singapore is Koal. It is part of the Les Amis group, holders of Michelin Stars. We started with the Bread Roll. It is in a cast iron skillet filled…
Review of lunch at KOAL Restaurant Singapore with pictures of set lunch menu, wine list, rice bowls and table seating at the KOAL grill ....
A food blog from a Singapore-based traveler
The chilli was potent, garlicky and fragrant, lifting the slightly dry, mildly fragrant and unoily rice. The chicken was okay, slightly tough and insufficiently oily, although tasty. Old school place. with an old school taste, and a regular stream of regulars.
For Alex, Hainanese Delicacy ticks all 3 boxes – their rice is fantastic, their chicken is extremely tender and their chilli is on the spicier side – simply out-of-this-world!
The overall lunch experience was enjoyable, thanks to the attentive and friendly service staff. The lunch set, featuring delicious food, contributes to a pleasant dining experience. An added advantage is that the lunch set is also available on weekends, making it convenient for individuals, like myself, who are unable to partake in the set lunch promotion typically reserved for weekdays.
Orchard Road French restaurant Elan is an “upper-middle” French restaurant in Shaw Centre.
Diners can opt for à la carte items, or a set menu ($70/pax) for lunch and a 4-course ($135/pax) tasting menu for dinner.
La Savoir cafe review - ‘Hermès Cafe’ in Singapore Scotts Square with pictures of food menu, wine list, Hermes collection and set lunch ..
The Place Located at Scotts Square in Orchard Road, I checked out La Savoir, a new French-local contemporary café restaurant which took over the space of The Coffee Academics on level two of the mall. The space of La Savoir is contemporary and perhaps the most striking element is the use of Hermès tableware and wallpaper which adds to the elegance of the interior instead of coming across as yet another café.
Head to Kissajin if you are looking for a competitively price Omakase experience in Singapore. The catch is that do not expect ingredients like fatty tuna (otoro) or sea urchin (uni) in the courses here, though you still get a variety of ingredients presented in different cooking preparations.
Kissajin is one of the casual Omakase where you get fresh produce and quality ingredients without breaking the bank. Diners can experience fun playful approach here in the restaurant.
Overall, a great place to satisfy your cravings for luxurious Thai Teochew Cuisine. Their Braised Shark’s Fin Soup / Fish Maw soup or anything that is cooked with their Golden stock is a must-order here. The price is on the high side, but you are paying for quality. Cheers!!
Overall lunch experience was delightful with attentive and knowledgeable staffs explaining each single dish. My friend was feeling cold, and they offered a shawl for her. Kudos to the team and would love to be back to try their other omakase menu. If you are looking for premium beef experience, I would recommend to give a try here.
The concept of Wagyu Jin reminds me of The Gyu Bar, both of which focuses on premium beef omakase menu. You get quality ingredients for a meal at Wagyu Jin, and I definitely don’t mind to return for more of its premium beef.
At Puncak Best Noodles, we had honeydew chicken noodles sans honeydew! They cook affordable and tasty zichar dishes!
The Place This is easily the most beautiful wine and dine destination in Orchard Road. I had the privilege of checking out 67 Pall Mall Singapore, a private Members’ Club opened in Singapore last M…
Recommended by Wong Ah Yoke of The Straits Times, from a chef turned home cook turned cafe owner. It was not cheap at $20, but the curry was flavourful, spicy and not the lemak type like Ipoh curry, and there was an abundance of toppings like poached chicken, roast pork, char siew, pig’s skin, braised pig’s ear, poached prawns, and quail egg.
Small Tables in Pacific Plaza at Scotts Road is where you can enjoy Ipoh dishes, Ipoh pastries and coffee in smart casual surroundings.
The kaisen don was generously portioned and very nicely done, with fresh, creamy and thick fish, bouncy tobiko and ebiko, crispy bits of Sakura ebi, tempura batter and furikake sesame, providing good contrasting flavours and textures.
Personally, it leans towards a more kappo-style for me since the courses showcase a variety of preparation techniques. The lunch menu definitely offers more value if you want to experience an omakase meal at Jinhonten.
Singapore is a melting pot of diverse culinary delights, but one dish that has stood the test of time and earned a spot as a national favorite is Hainanese Chicken Rice. Among the many places to savor this delectable dish, Sergeant Hainanese Chicken Rice 三巡海南鸡饭 has carved a name for itself, serving authentic recipes since the 1970s.
This shop features a variety of instant noodle packets to choose from, along with three automated induction cookers and a basket of raw eggs...or you can pay a little more for the kitchen to cook it for you in the back (which Cheers at Margaret Market certainly doesn't have!).
There's a Turkish place down on the ground floor of Far East Plaza, and it's pretty good (14 Scotts Road #01-17, 6592-0295).
The broth is a bit sweet, although that shouldn't be too surprising (think: boat noodles).

Don’t miss the Giant Grouper-themed menu at Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant. It’s an epicurean journey that will leave an indelible impression. Make your reservations here.
Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant has refreshed it’s a la carte menu and launched the seasonal Sri Lankan Crab menu recently.
Overall, it was an excellent culinary journey of Argentinian cuisine. While some of the dishes look familiar, we find the taste uniquely different due to the use of Argentinian flavour and ingredients. Salud! Cheers!
To complement the food, Head Bartender Sophia Kang has also teamed up with Restaurant and Bar Manager Gabriel Carlos to present three chocolate-themed cocktails for the season.
