Fresh off his win in cooking competition Masterchef Singapore Season 2 earlier this year in April, Derek Cheong revealed that he was a huge fan of a stall called Loyang Way Big Prawn Noodles. Known…
After trying the prawn noodle here, I have to agree with the raving reviews.
If you are living in the East Side of Singapore, this is definitely a prawn noodle stall to add into your list.
I would, obviously, not waste my trip to Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre by just trying one stall! However, my stomach capacity is severely...
Well, I have already returned to Prawnaholic whilst drafting this article. It is always interesting to see hawkers try their hands in reinventing some old school favourites, especially when they manage to pull it off well.
Prawnaholic is on the upper level of the beautiful new generation "hipster" hawker centre.

The restaurant has also received its Halal certification, so Muslim friends can go to enjoy some Korean stew.
Hopefully they’ll improve in the future, ’cause I would like to come back with my friends for the experience.
The Homemade Meatballs with Marinara Sauce was a good side dish to be shared.
The spread at Wild Olives definitely is good value for money. I wouldn’t mind queueing again just for a taste of the stall’s signature mushroom rice. Yummy!
With most dishes here comfortably priced below $10, and their quality comparable to those found in famous restaurants, I certainly foresee myself returning to Takagi Ramen.
Overall, happy dining experience here- happy crowd, tasty food and good music.
The wanton and fried wanton were quite meaty, with the wanton silky with balanced marination, and the fried wanton crispy. The char siew was fairly tender and smoky but without char, while the prawn roll was sweet and prawny and sprinkled with water chestnuts for texture. The duck egg noodles were soft and wiry and somehow a bit alkaliney, and tossed in an oily, lardy, fragrant and slightly savoury sweet sauce. Quite nice.
The food was really good. I highly recommend everyone to give it a try!! You definitely won't regret it.
The broth of this prawn noodles really exhibited effort and was seriously 浓醇香 – layered, rounded and tasting both sweet and savoury with no msg. There was a thickness from the pork bones, umami from the prawn head, and an inviting fragrance from the fried shallots. The prawns were slightly tough, but tasted really sweet and flavourful. Very good.

All in all, Tan Ku Ku is still worth trying on the days that you’re craving Hokkien Mee and if you’re not too particular about which stall you’re getting it from.
A hidden gem of Pasir Ris, Ministry of Burgers is the joint that finally lets you have Ramly-style burgers, all day, e’er’ day.
I’d just go straight for their signature Flying Dragon Noodles and give the rest a miss. They were definitely not stingy with the portions, so be sure to come hungry!
I've always been curious about this chain of ayam penyet shops but only had a chance to try them now.

Reimondo Seafood Congee offers you quality seafood and smoked salmon at affordable prices.
Here, you can either go for one of their fixed sets or order a la carte dishes as you please — which is a rarity at Nasi Padang stalls. So if you’re looking for a hearty meal, head to Raden Lina Nasi Padang!
Fei Ji Claypot has been in Loyang Point food court for many years and I was told that it's very popular. Though there are many eateries in this small neighbourhood mall, I decided to give this stall a try.
