Verdict: Anytime is a good time for cocktails! The Farquhar’s Bar team serve a delicious variety of cocktails in extremely decadent surroundings. I’m now imagining myself nestle into the poshy leather sofa and soak in the bar’s air of elegance and old-world charm.
Farquhar’s Bar is a handsome vintage cocktail bar featuring a classic long bar of oak and brass, its lush interiors decorated with antique fittings and plush leather sofas.
The Spicy Garlic Prawn and the Marinated Air-dried Beef are the highlights from the menu for us, most probably we love the tingling spicy excitement from the chili used in the seasoning. Best enjoy them with toast to enjoy different dimension of texture while the sauce infused into the toast

On the other hand, Grain Fed Beef Fillet Mignon is a dish that let you relish on its texture. It has a well tender texture, and the taste was enhanced by the accompanying sauce. The fillet mignon was best to enjoyed with medium rare texture.
Verdict: It’s definitely a lovely evening with great food which scored up to my expectation, impeccable service and enjoyable ambiance. Java Tree might not a regular casual eating place but it is certainly one of the places you should consider when comes to special occasions.

Verdict: Although the selection weren’t really extensive, but sufficient to keep your stomach satisfy, be it for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Priced at RM67.95nett per person, the Afternoon Tea is served from 2pm to 5pm daily at the 1885 restaurant. The set comprises of refillable pot of tea of your choice, finger sandwiches, scones and sweet pastries. Verdict: It was a delightful afternoon for me and my family that filled with lovely ambiance, top notch service and delicious afternoon treats.

When it comes to pasta offerings, expect to tuck into the Seafood Risotto prepared with al dente Arborio rice. The creamy umami-rich risotto with many flavors and ingredients of tiger prawn, clams, calamari, and semi-dried tomato offers abundant heartiness.
Carbonara Smoked Duck – RM28, Smoked Duck Slices, Carbonara Cream, Egg Yolk, Speghetti Parmesan Cheese & Fresh Egg Yolk, Cracked a la minute. Even though this dish is not the signature here, yet the taste of this dish was simply delicious. The fresh eggs yolk made the pasta creamy when mixed together. On the other hand, the taste of the smock duck slices were tender and packed with aroma.
Was a bit disappointed la cause they looked like a restaurant/cafe that has it all. But then again, there were quite a lot of food items on their menu. But the Salted Egg Yolk Pasta is really the bomb!

The taste of the wantan mee are almost the same as before despite the chewiness of the noodle not as much and the gravy is more starchy. As for the Char Hor Fun, the taste is packed with wok aroma.

The chunks of tender lamb with notes of herbs are complemented by a big plate of fragrant white rice and a salad of tomato, lemon, and gherkins. A spoon of the sauce with the rice is just heavenly.

Overall, i feel that the food here is good, environment is comfortable and service is good.
Unagi Omurice – RM22, Pumpkin & raisin fried rice topped with Japanese omelette and grilled unagi, ebiko and nori flakes. The unagi was pan fried until golden crisp and full of pan aroma, it was then covered with teriyaki sauce and Japanese omelette. One of the highlights that captured my attention was the rice was fried with pumpkin and raisin that made it taste naturally sweet and unique.
We tried the Smoked Duck Mazemen (RM 14) and was delighted with its taste. Though smaller in portion, the noodles texture was al-dente with nice springiness and it has an elusive taste. Then the bowl is topped with nicely done smoked duck, along with ramen egg, sauteed mushrooms, tempura bits, steamed corn, spring onion and tori to give it a complete set of nutrients.
Verdict: Good ambiance and environment. Food wise, I can’t comment much on it since I only tried one dish but it was good, nonetheless.
We enjoyed their Pumpkin and Prawn Rissoto (RM 32) much. The mushy sweet pumpkin blended flawlessly with the rissoto, along with a tad of earthy note introduced by the shimeji mushrooms and handful of herbs rendered the dish appealing.
Reasons to visit Norm Micro Roastery Penang: light, bright, happy setting; excellent coffee; we enjoyed everything we ordered but if you have to be selective don’t miss the Creamy Mushroom and Onion Mousse and the So Frenchie So Chic.

The wave of boutique café has not only swept over the metropolitan of KL, but has also invaded into the radars of urbanites residing in the Pearl of Orient. China House (which most of the time, I tend to accidentally enunciate it as White House-US, lol), is one of the several brands that has sprung up lately, occupying a three-linked compound, at the heritage-rich locale of Beach Street.
The broth was out of this world. Subtly rich with the extract from the bones.
It was well known for it home made fish ball and the delicious clear soup. A bowl of Koay Teow Thng that consist of fish ball, pork meat, vegetable and pork lark is not quite enough to fill up your tummy, so we had 2 bowls.
Laksa is good with a nice flavoured and balanced soup, albeit the price is slightly high - RM 6.00 for a bowl.
