The taste of the Ngao Lam Mee is still very traditional and classic. This stall has been around for decades. The flavorful and thick beef stock is best to eat especially during rainy season. Cooked with ginger slices and some herbs and simmer in long hours, this beef brisket taste so good and tender. I really hope that this taste continue to pass down to coming generations.
Beside the traditional bak chang, Cintra Food Corner also famous with Cantonese’s version of dumpling which is made of beans. For those that prefer healthier version, you can always order Japanese rice dumpling too.
However at Kedai Kopi Kampung Malabar, beside all the food selling here are excellent the coffee here is great too. This is one of the shops that you can visit if you are a coffee picker. The coffee powder here is a mix of local and robusta coffee which made the aroma and the flavor thick and strong.
The Grilled Chicken Cordon Bleu (RM 16.90) we ordered did not disappoint. We could taste the distinctive flavour of each layer, starting from the nicely grilled chicken, then to the stuffed chicken ham and sliced cheese. Then, the usage of creamy cheese sauce topping the grilled chicken cordon blue further enhanced its taste by rendering a sleek and rich sensation. Personally, we felt the quality even surpass some cafes that offers similar dish in a higher price tag.
Xii Chan's Oriental Chicken Chop is one of their signature dishes and best sellers- the traditional heritage sauce/ stock is slowly cooked over low heat for more than 7 hours to fully accentuate its flavor and to reach its consistency. As for the Chicken, Xii Chan uses fresh Chicken for marination and no frozen Chicken will be used. The slightly sweet-savory sauce paired well with the crispy Fried Chicken Chop and works equally well with the Fries as well. It is noteworthy that Xii Chan replaces the usual Salad (dressed with Mayonnaise or Thousand Island) with a healthier option of Fruit Salad
The environment here is clean and well ventilate, comfortable to dine in here.
Cooking with fish broth and fish fillets this Char Hor Fun is packed with char grill fish aroma
The signature dishes at Woh Kee Char Hor Fun are Char Hor Fun, Fish Bee Hoon Soup and Fried Rice.
Poached white chicken is a must try at AZhong Kitchen. The chicken meat is poached into perfection with succulent texture, and best enjoyed with various dipping sauces - premium dark soy sauce, chili with garlic and ginger accompanied by a bowl of aromatic oil rice.
Chicken Rice is one of the staples for Penangites and it can be found anywhere in the State but it is not easy to find one that offers variety- dishes that work alongside with roasted Chicken. Ah Zhong Chicken Rice at Kampung Malabar is one of the latest Chicken Rice specialists that offers these delicacies. Apart from the usual Chicken Rice, it offers Bean Sprouts Koay Teow, Porridge, Tom Yum and Cantonese stir-fry Noodles etc. We thought the place was decent and would be suitable if someone would like something else (then the ordinary Chicken Rice) for a change. Ah Zhong is good for the variety.

Kampung Nights, E & O Hotel RM198nett per adult, RM118nett per child/senior
Dining here is really nice, the environment is good and the food is tasty too. If you walk out from Sarkies, you can actually see the beautiful sea view just behind E&O hotel.
After a while of MCO, E & O Hotel is backed with the usual unlimited ala-carte and buffet lunch. This round a bit different is the add-in of dim sum series. For those that love to eat dim sum, you don’t need to go far. E & O Sarkies is serving the fresh and delightful dim sum. For my personal preference, I love the har gao (shrimp dumpling) here, where the shrimp inside is bouncy and fresh, the outer coat is thin and soft. It is one of the best in town.
Penang is famous for its Peranakan culture, particularly the well-known Baba Nyonya community. Established in 1933 as a kuih-specializing factory, Moh Teng Pheow Nyonya Koay expanded to include a storefront in 2016, showcasing a remarkable commitment to Nyonya kueh.
Moh Teng Pheow Nyonya Kuih has earned the prestigious Bib Gourmand status in the 2023 Michelin Guide KL and Penang list.
Moh Teng Pheow Nonya Koay was where we headed for our fix of Nonya Kuehs. Having visited Jason’s Nonya House and still craving for Nonya fare, we found Moh Teng Pheow Nonya Koay a popular venue for koahs such as Kueh Lapis, Kueh Talam and Kueh Bengka.
It was a night of splendor with the luxuriousness of ambiance, service and exquisite scrumptious cuisine.

Roasted chicken Green Curry at about MYR 28.5 where the green curry gravy is served in the very small glass container shown ini the photo.
The name "Tok Tok" originates from the onomatopoeic sound a chef makes while kneading noodle dough with a bamboo pole, a tradition still observed at the entrance of this establishment.
The taste of the wantan mee are almost the same as before despite the chewiness of the noodle not as much and the gravy is more starchy. As for the Char Hor Fun, the taste is packed with wok aroma.

Both Cafe Latte (H) and (I) taste simply delicious. A beautiful combination of coffee and almond milk that packs a punch, delicious and smooth. In addition, what I love about this cafe is that they don't charge extra for Almond Milk. Sounds great right.

Carbonara Smoked Duck – RM28, Smoked Duck Slices, Carbonara Cream, Egg Yolk, Speghetti Parmesan Cheese & Fresh Egg Yolk, Cracked a la minute. Even though this dish is not the signature here, yet the taste of this dish was simply delicious. The fresh eggs yolk made the pasta creamy when mixed together. On the other hand, the taste of the smock duck slices were tender and packed with aroma.
Tasty savoury fragrant KL style wanton noodles with tasty plump wantons.
Polo Bun with Butter (菠萝油) – RM4.50, a very typical Hong Kong pastry. The top of the bun was covered with slightly sweet crust while the inner of the bun was stuffed with a piece of creamy butter. In Penang, it is so difficult to get Polo Butter Bun. That is the reason I came to this cafe to try out the bun. It is in fact one of their best-sellers and usually sold out by noon. The top crust was so nice and the bun was soft and warm. Having it with soft and creamy butter was simply satisfying. This bun is perfect when it is served warm.
For the menu, although I thought that the price is wallet-friendly but the choices are limited.
Nevertheless, we are sold and would come back again for their croissant, and to try its other offerings.
Here's the location.
That Sunday morning, weather was lovely that after waking up at the cozy bed of Deluxcious Hotel, we immediately retun to Le Petit for another round of visit, haha.
Pitt Street Koay Teow Thng is one of the famous Koay Teow Thng in Penang that has been around for 60years. The original location of this Koay Teow Thng was at Pitt Street. It was moved to the new location at Carnarvon Street a few years back. One of the Specialists of this shop is the fish balls that are made of Eel Fish and the fish balls are homemade. Pitt Street Koay Teow Thng also selling Char Koay Teow now and the taste is promising too.
Koay Teow Th'ng is flat rice noodles, served in soup. It is topped with their homemade Eel Fishballs, pork meat that has been minced and flattened, and we were surprised to find some golden deep-fried Pork Lards in the bowl as well. The noodles were silky smooth, every ingredient is in perfect harmony. The Eel fishball though has a slightly different texture than the usual fishball bounciness, we can taste the delicate sweetness of the eel itself. It is definitely a hearty bowl of delicious Koay Teow Th'ng!
The broth was out of this world. Subtly rich with the extract from the bones.

Narrow Marrow had been on our list for some time, and it truly did not disappoint when we finally visited it during this Penang trip. It’s definitely one of our favourite cafes in Penang.
Narrow Marrow is now open in Beach Street as of 30th July 2020.
