Generally, we quite liked the Smokehouse. The service was good, and the food was decent. The ambience was good enough that wife suggested we might stay at the hotel next time we visit Cameron Highlands.
Standing at 5,500-6000ft above sea level, Cameron Highlands is one of Malaysia’s oldest and “coolest” tourist resorts. Named after the British explorer and geologist William Cameron, the pla...
As the Yuletide season is approaching- which is just a few days’ shy away, it can’t help but to relive back the sweet memories of cozy and warm moment spent at the cooling pristine hills of Cameron Highlands, at the vintage crib of Ye Olde Smokehouse.
In summary, The Lord's Cafe serves reasonably good food. The pricing is also very affordable. The only downside is the shortage of dining tables. Customers may need to wait for a while during peak hours.

THE LORD’S CAFE By Christopher Quah If you google for scones in Cameron Highlands, chances are you would always end up with the Lord’s Café in Tanah Rata. The quaint little café tucked among the row of shophouses has become a household name among the travelers that come to enjoy the chilling weather…
Reasons to visit: old world charm; lovely green views; relaxed yet elegant setting; possibly the best afternoon tea in the Cameron Highlands. Afternoon Tea is served from 3pm to 6pm daily at a price of RM45 per person, or RM80 when dining at two.
This is a real great place for an authentic afternoon to have in British way. Fresh air, peaceful environment, comfortable couch and soothing background music. Perfect!

They serve pastries, tea and coffee. For what we ordered as shown above, those already costed us roughly RM60. That's not cheap but the scenery is rewarding!

这里的户外用餐环境和服务态度都让我很满意,感觉上很适合情侣或小夫妻来这里用餐谈心。 食物算是中上水准,要是价格可以再低一点那就好了。
Our recent exploration of Cameron Highlands, we come across this unique looking cafe which is built out of few cylinder shape gigantic tin can. A closer look, we realise it is actually a very cosy welcoming cafe with lovely garden and relaxing atmosphere.
Here's the location.
Reasons to visit: elegant colonial setting; fresh ingredients picked daily from local farms; loved the Mossy Forest Salad, Oven Baked Red Snapper, Sticky Toffee Pudding and don’t forget the Strawberries!
When the sun rises over these slopes, guests of Cameron Highlands’ finest resort make their eager way to The Dining Room for a breakfast ...
Breakfast at Cameron Highlands Resort was served at The Dining Room, overlooking the golf course and surrounding hills. We got a selection of cut fruits, pastries, cereal, yogurt and hot items such as eggs, waffles, pancakes and local specialties which you can order from the menu. rif and I really…
Priced at RM110++ per person, it is a bit steep, but you get better quality and overall freshness of the meats, seafood and vegetables. And most importantly, you are dining in the best 5 stars resort in Cameron Highlands! You can also choose to have sukiyaki or teppanyaki for the same price, but I feel shabu shabu goes best with the chilly weather.
Reasons to visit: great setting with crisp evening air providing the perfect backdrop to the steaming hotpots; quality selection of fresh produce; fun interactive experience.
Gonbei is the only Japanese restaurant in Cameron Highlands and is a sister location to the Gonbei in Starhill Gallery. This restaurant boasts an open dining concept, making it ideal for steamboats. Incidentally, that was what rif and I had that night – shabu shabu. Priced at RM110++ per person,…
Overall, some of the dishes at Ferm were a hit and miss while some were decent enough for a good meal. The prices were also quite pocket-friendly as we ordered many dishes but the total was less than MYR 150.
Service is pretty good and overall, this is a decent place for steamboat at Cameron Highlands. Like we mentioned earlier, it is hard to go wrong to visit a steamboat restaurant during cooling weather at Cameron Highlands. This is May Flower Restaurant Cameron Highlands.
Overall, the ingredients were very fresh and did not taste like it was laden with MSG. The price of the add-ons is slightly more expensive compared to the other restaurants offering steamboat in Cameron but I feel the quality does justify the price tag.
Located at Tringkap area’s main roadside lies a Water Cress Farm well known for its natural farming, spectacular scenery, and delicious styles of watercress cooking.
Overall, the food at Water Cress Valley is fairly tasty and fresh. Nevertheless, I think the main appeal lies in the nice scenery that the restaurant offers. Water Cress Valley also serves stir-fried (煮炒) Chinese dishes, but we do not have the stomach capacity to taste any dishes this round.
Ordering : 1 Steamboat ( for 4 person) 2 steam fish 3 bean curd 4 vegetable (RM 145-- 7 person)

We have 5 diners. Each diner is priced at RM15 for the steamboat (its not buffet). I would say the price is reasonable. Well..I’ll leave it to you guys to judge the food based on the photos below. Apart from that, you may choose your choice of soup base. Choice of Herbal Soup, Chicken Soup, Tom Yam. Choose either one or you can opt for “yin yong” (2 types of soup). As an Asian…of cos I would like to have ‘Tom Yam”. Therefore we went for “yin yong”.
格子松饼百香果雪糕,酸酸甜甜的好好吃 (少女心爆发) 这个格子松饼是有内陷的哦,内层夹着花生酱,配上雪糕,好吃!
Curry soup noodle with assorted ingredients for hubby and I.
Curry pork noodle
Overall the charcoal steamboat is great, especially the base soup (sweet non-msg detected) and vegetable (fresh, sweet and crunchy). Feels like we were drinking soup (asked refill 3 rounds) more than anything else in this meal! 😉
The steamboat meal cost about RM108.00 for the 6 of us.
Overall, this easily beat the other two steamboat restaurants we have tried in Brinchang in the past, and we’d thoroughly recommend Tuan Yuan. I expect we’ll be back.
"It is cold here, try lah our steamboat, eating steamboat will make you warm". Ok, Finally, we are convinced, and in we go to try. Since most of the menu of a few of the restaraunts looks almost the same we just walk into Hong Kong Hotel & Restoran for their charcoal steamboat.
Verdict: We paid RM 41.00 for our steamboat dinner, food wise and the vegetables were exceptionally fresh and crisp. But to our dismay, the service was extremely slow although there are less than 10 tables in this restaurant and our drinks came only after 20 minutes of order which I thought is quite unreasonable.
Squeezed between an arts and crafts studio and a plant shop is Amazon Le Petit Cafe. Befitting its name, its simple white interior is decorated with hanging plants, pressed flower and fern art and woodsy furnishings to create a tranquil setting that’s instantly beckons you inside. You can order your drinks to go from a window but we found the lure too great.
Besides cocktails, Cricket Lounge also serves beers, wines and liquors.
18° Celsius Cafe is named after the fact that the typical temperature in Cameron Highlands is 18°C.
