Dining here is nice, in terms of food, there are a lot of different dim sum to choose from. Basically, you will be spoiled for choice here. Every types of food that a Dim Sum restaurant should have Maxim Dim Sum has it. It is not only that they have many different types of Dim Sum but the taste is tasty too. I enjoy every dish of Dim Sum that i order ranging from the Shumai all the way to their Egg Tart.
Lo Mai Kai (Glutinous Chicken Rice) is my favourite dish so it is a must to order it.
Yam cakes and egg tarts were probably saviour of the morning but the rest, particularly chee cheong fun and har gao definitely need some refinement in terms of taste
Hui Shang Ying, another meaning in Mandarin is known as 'get addicted'. This shop is specialized in making Chinese Rice Dumplings. There are 7 types of flavors available to choose from. Besides the ride dumpling, the Hokkien Mee and the Penang Laksa here are also very delicious and yummy. With the portion given and the cozy ambiance, the price is considered reasonable.
Here's the location.
We had the Nyonya Glutinous Rice Dumpling, a fairly uncommon product in the market these days. The texture was right and the flavor was okay but not to the extent that it was impressive. We thought it was an okay-average one.
I enjoy my dinner here, though it is simple but it is nice .. !
Smoked Duck Poke – RM16.90, the rice was served with cherry tomatoes, seaweeds, cucumber, lettuces and topped with slices of smoked duck. The sauce for the main dish was either teriyaki or garlic mayo. The salad dressing was served in roasted sesame dressing. The smoked duck slices were juicy and packed with smoky flavor. For this combination I chose garlic mayo which tasted nice and very appetizing. The sesame dressing sauce for the salad was aromatic and delightful. The dietary of this meal is well-balanced and it is a great option for health-conscious people.
Person who likes a sweet end would be delighted to find the desserts here. The Pili Toast and Pala Toast are both topped with a rich layer of Matcha and Tiramisu respectively. Where as for the Strawberry croissant, the crisp pastry is stuffed with some sweet strawberries to give it a mild sweet taste.
Passions of Kerala is one of the few places in Penang where diners can enjoy a South Indian-style meal of rice on a banana leaf. The banana leaf set comes with three different vegetables as well as pappadom. These vegetable items are free to flow for a refill while diners are allowed to order varieties of side dishes. One of the signature dishes here is the fried bitter ground that almost exists on most of the tables here. The spicy and appetizing stir fry oyster mushroom is also another selling point of this restaurant where these mushrooms are plugged fresh from their farm. The mango lassi is also not to be missed at this place as they are thick and refreshing.
I would come back here again and again just for their Banana Leaf Rice .. !!
For Pasta, the Bonito Salmon Carbonara is one of the highlights... al dentely cooked Spaghetti served in a cream-based sauce and topped with Smoked Salmon, Soft-Boiled Egg and sprinkled with Furikake (Japanese Dry Seasoning); a seemingly familiar yet exciting flavor combo.
One of our favourite of the newly introduced dish is the Mediterranean inspired Shakshuka. Reason being the dish is so appetizing, attributed by the sauce made from tomatoes, chili peppers, onion, a variety of spices which offers a sense of pleasant tanginess. It is served with a piece of bread that goes well with the sauce.
他们自制的英式松饼不是传统口味的
Overall, I wasn’t impressed with the place despite it being the original Chu Yoke Weng outlet. Will give this another try when I’m in Penang to see if the duck is of such standard.
Chu Yoke Weng Restaurant "豬肉溁琵琶鴨專賣店" was one of the well known duck rice shop around southern part of Penand Island. We decided to give a try on one of the outlets at Jalan pekaka sungai Nibong.

Happy Cafe, Taman Pekaka is one of the family-friendly cafes that has been around for more than 30 years. It has chicken rice stall on one side and duck rice stall on the other side of the Cafe. The chicken rice here is Hainanese style with soft and jelly-like skin while the roast duck is Cantonese style with crispy skin and juicy and tender meat. Besides these 2 stalls, there are pan mee and hot plate noodle stalls as well.
Another savoury dish to enjoy at Happy Cafe during dinner hour will be Claypot Chicken Rice. It is best eaten when you request for for salted fish top up, though we feel there could be more dark soy sauce in the rice to give it a kick. Add on some chili for a spicy sensation.
Overall, food here is tasty, service is good and the environment is comfortable too. A nice place for a family gathering or company event.
Wu Jia's Curry Prawn with Bun is one of their popular dishes- fresh, plump Curry Prawns served with fluffy-soft deep fried Bun (to dip). The Curry flavor was very bold and rich... which went well with both Bun and Rice. It was not the monotonous type of Curry... probably with the addition of Onions and fresh Tomatoes for the extra acidity touch.
This Muslim-Friendly Korean Cafe in Penang is run by a Korean family
Korean Cafe Shwim Pyo is a very simple cafe
Overall, the food here is just ok, depending on what you order, some is nice some is just average. It is a nice addition to my list of place to eat because the food is not bad, parking is easy and the environment is nice.
The Little House Kochabi 一家小店古早味 is the newly opened restaurant at Gelugor that serves classic and Taiwanese dishes. This is a place for homestyle cooking with a cozy ambiance. This place is very suitable for families and kids friendly.
Every component of nasi lemak is well executed here. The coconut rice is aromatic with a very pleasant scent of pandan, fried chicken is deep fried with a hint scent of coconut too, while fish is fried to crispiness. Sambal is more to a milder tune and inject extra sweetness to the rice instead of building the heat. On and off, the chef will feature some additional dishes to be featured on the day, which we had a bowl of mixed vegetable curry for RM 3.
Every basic order of the Nasi Lemak consists of a generous portion of fragrant Rice, a spoonful of home-made Sambal, a piece of Fried Chicken Meat, a piece of Fried Fish, a quarter of Hard Boiled Egg and a choice of Deep Fried Anchovies or Salted Fish Curry. The fragrant Rice was nicely cooked, at least we could detect the hint of creaminess and the alluring Coconut Milk. The home-made Sambal was equally nice, though not as spicy as we would have hoped, the powerful punch of the Herbs and Spices gave a good lift to the fragrant rice. The combination was perfect, our only gripe was the lack of sliced Cucumber... for the extra crunch.
The chapati is fluffy, moist and keeps nicely soft for a long period of time, thanks to Mamu's years of experimentation on the best combination of water and different varieties of flour. The roti jala, on the other hand, has a crepe-like softness as he uses lots of eggs in the batter.
The roti jala was just decent but the chapati did justice to its reputation. Thin, well puffed with a delightful char aroma (not charcoal but gas was used though), it was light yet with a pleasant chew. We mopped up copious amount of the sweet, spicy sambal sardin with every bite.
The Chapatis, flat unleavened breads made with the combination of atta flour (grinded whole wheat flour) and water, mildly toasted on a preheated dry skillet (tava). Thus, it’s and fiber-rich and low in cholesterol, making the bread healthy for just everyone, especially those with diabetics. The Roti Jala (Netted Bread or Lacy Crepe) on the other hand, is a local delicacy, especially during the fasting month in Malaysia. The mixture prior to being molded on a preheated skillet, “screwpine” brushed with oil, consists of flour, eggs, milk, salt, turmeric powder (coloring) and water. Both these delicacies would go well with any curry dishes.
Food here is good, some are great and some are not bad.
*The ikan pari wasn't at its most fresh condition though*
珂 Jawa Mee has improvised the cooking to Chinese style where the gravy is cooked by pumpkin. It is thick and flavourful. Besides the cooked version 珂 Jawa Mee also offers the fried version which both are a delightful balance of sweet, savory, and slightly spicy tastes, accompanied by a variety of textures. 珂 Jawa Mee is one of the Chinese styles Jawa Mee that is not to be missed.
i personally think that it is just average. Nothing fancy to shout about and it is not bad .. Still worth trying.
总的来说,用心料理怎么都比虚张声势来得重要。市场上的咖啡座日益增加,大家都把自己的店面打扮得花枝招展,但实际好吃的又有几家?我欣赏老板的用心,也特别在这里推荐给大家。

Other than their food, i also love their Bubble Milk Tea which i think is really tasty.
Overall this 600 cc Taiwanese Restaurants was worthy to try.
This is my highly recommended Taiwan Original Beef Noodle Soup . The portion was just okay for me, if you are a big eater or you wish to have it bigger in portion, you might opt to add/top with extra noodles, by doing so, it costs you Rm 5. I opted for Beef Balls only, where originally, there should be Beef (the meat) and the Beef Balls coming together. It comes with some green vegetables, pickled vegetables, and some chilies. The soup might be a bit spicy for some, but it was not spicy at all for me. Accompanied by the springy and bouncy noodles, the thick and rich broth actually worked together perfectly, especially with a touch of sourish pickled cabbages.
