We ordered two sets of ‘eggs on toast’, yes two same set I can’t remember why, different toast though. To be frank I can’t remember the taste at the point of writing this, it was just usual toast with rockets and egg. Nothing more I can describe. Will let the pictures tell the taste.
Fresh loaves slices served with dainty Japanese butter, pepper and sea salt. Quite interesting as the Japanese butter renders a rather subtle taste compared to my usual fave French butter.
Widely known for its sourdough and croissant, other bakeries such as baguette, kanelbullar, canele and cakes are also available. They are baked freshly every day, basically you could get all sort of carbs and happiness in the quiet neighbourhood of Taman Rasa Sayang at Petaling Jaya.
能在这么舒适的环境之下,吃上一餐经济的午餐,我觉得这是超值了~趁着新餐单还未下架,我要多来几次才行。
氛围和食物都有达标
For those who love surprise, I would highly recommend No Idea.
In summary, Guan’s in SS4 Taman Rasa Sayang exemplifies the perfect blend of modernity and tradition. It encapsulating the essence of a kopitiam while offering a unique and refreshing twist.
Definitely looking forward to sample the Cafe's Chicken dishes with another 1-2 glasses of wine!
Flower in Mud ~BEST! MUST TRY IT~ We want to eat the "Flower in Mud" snack again when we come to this cafe on next time! Come to try first then you know how it's taste! You sure will like it~
Grill Lamb Rack Lamb rack grilled to perfection, served with mashed potato, carrots, ladies fingers and homemade mint sauce. I fall in love with this special mint sauce. It has fragrance of mint and a mixture of slightly sweet and tangy sour taste.
[Non-halal] For elevated coffee, check out Airplane Mode Coffee in Taman Rasa Sayang.
Surprising a "Mee Goreng Mamak" that has got some "Wok Hei", and comes with a "Telur Mata" with two cucumber slice that are garnished with chili sauce
Oyakodon Ricebowl, 18 ringgit Between the rice bowl and the noodles, I was in love with this particular rice bowl. I am a fan of caramelized onion and this dish came with it, in a generous portion. It was da bomb. The egg resembled a plain omelette – fluffy and buttery. Underneath the bed of egg, there was a chicken fillet and sticky, gooey Japanese rice. Usually I like my rice bowls with plenty of gravy which was not the case here – but it totally worked. I loved it.
Food writing is an on-going learning journey. A visit to Anne Elizabeth, a deli-style restaurant owned by husband and wife team, Jacob Fong and Sandra Lee, proved enlightening as I grappled with unfamiliar meat cuts like abanico and picanha.
Next to arrive was the Australian marbled ribeye (RM78), which was perfectly cooked to medium doneness as requested. We chose this as the marbling looked incredible on the meat in its raw state, and it certainly did not disappoint in terms of taste too... super tender and juicy! Served with two types of sauce and mustard.
We had, not one but two pieces of Iberico Abanico (RM39.80 per piece). Each piece is about 250gm. Grilled to 70% doneness, Jacob assured us that this is very safe for consumption since it is Iberico. The texture of the Abanico is amazing, utterly tender, juicy and has a beautiful bouncy bite. Due to the marbling, the flavour component is also deliciously tasty. Served with the three-standard mustard, dark caramelized roasted gravy and pepper cream, this cut of Iberico is further accentuated in terms of flavours. Absolutely worth a try if you have not had this before…
Most of the time photos in the menu are just for illustration purpose but here in CORE, our Fried Chicken Burger appeared the same as per in the menu! Just like what being captured in the menu! The whole burger was huge and tall, with fluffy charcoal bun sandwiching the well-seasoned and juicy fried chicken. Delicious! And it is really worth paying for!
Had BACON AND CHEESE SANDWICH – Layer of toast, streaky bacon, cheese, toast, topped with bechamel sauce and a sunny side up. Nice, but very filling as well. Suggest to share it if you are a small eater.
This pasta was sooo yummy! I enjoyed every bit of it. The taste of Laksa was evident from the first mouth in. Due to the fact that this dish is a wet dish, it is however on the dryer side. It has just enough gravy to make sure the pasta and the accompanying ingredients are covered. I honestly like it this wasy because it made the laksa flavor more prominent. I would not mind having it by itself but the addition of the mussels, the squid rings, cherry tomatoes was da bomb. I enjoyed this dish.
My Personal Opinion The pork noodles here are undeniably good but even more so, it's fantastic value as the porky ingredients are really generous. It clearly deserves a place in my top ten list of best pork noodles for the quantity of liew you get for RM7.
Restoran MaMa Love 老妈子 is another pork noodles place in Cheras that you can check out. Located in Taman Tun Perak, we were told that this is a sister outlet to Machi Pork Noodle that we frequent and it is apparent when you take your first sip of the soup.
来到蕉赖媚姨辣椒板面 Madam Chiam Curry Noodle House @ Cheras, 发现搭配苋菜的板面也别具一番风味。
Curry Laksa Noodle was damn good, an irresistible bowl of rich and flavorful Curry Laksa Noodle with the perfect taste and texture. YUM!!
Each plate is fried individually and comes with thin flat noodles, juicy cockles, two large prawns, crunchy beansprouts, chives, egg and of course, crispy pork lard (chu yau char). We recommend that you go for extra spicy 加辣 (that's how we like it!). There's also an option to add-on cockles (siham). Lots of wok hei and very tasty! Definitely the best char koay teow we've tried in Cheras!
Earlier this week, we were in the vicinity since I wanted to get santan (coconut milk) for our mango sticky rice dessert. There was a Thai restaurant I wanted to try, but it has closed down so we walked over to Restoran Sweetland to see what stalls were opened. Right at the entrance was a noodle stall - there were pictures of the noodles dishes they offer here along with their English names below it. We placed our order for two noodles dishes and went inside to look for a table.
First and last time. So not coming back. No way. Not in a million years. Heck no. Ok, I think you get the message.....wakakakaka! :D
Restaurant Tien Sun Tien is quite famous in everyone’s heart, they have a fast serving rate and overall nice food, people tried it and liked it, I am not the only one who thought so, the crowd proves it all. So I think this is one of the Chinese restaurant that worth coming back for.
Tien Sun Tien Restaurant 天上天美味园 is my recent find for a great spread of Chinese dishes at a reasonable price. I have been frequent here lately; at least once a week for their flavourful Chinese dishes that prepared with real ‘wok hei'. Besides that, the servings are quite generous.
Summer Asian Chick, 22 ringgit. This was their ‘Popular’ dish under their Chicken Chop option. There were 3 choices and this was their most liked. The dish basically consisted of tender, crispy boneless chicken with cheese + sweet and sour sauce + potato wedges + salad. It was something different. I have not really tasted much of a chicken fillet with sweet and sour sauce presented this way. What I am used to is a crispy chicken fillet with sweet and sour sauce but not chicken chop style. I actually liked it. I liked it even more once I let the the chicken and the wedges to dip in the sauce, to make sure it seeped through the meat and potato – a yummy sweet and soggy meal. The cheese, for me was pretty redundant. It is basically “Cheesedale”, the packaged ones you’d find at every grocery store? The taste is mild , eating it with the meat – I could hardly taste the cheese. It does not matter though, since the taste of the cheese was pretty much non existent, whether it is on the plate or not – does not matter. A delicious dish overall.
很高兴在Cheras也出现了一家水准很不错的Café,环境优美,食物大份又好吃,很值得一试!
I like the bright and cheery environment but more so for the spaciousness which makes it a great place to sit and chat for hours with friends (unlike some smaller, cramp cafes which make you feel that you've overstayed because of the many customers waiting for seats). Though they serve the usual, simple cafe food here, the reasonable prices of under RM20 for most of their dishes, coupled with friendly service, will be what endears their customers to them. I didn't get to try their egg waffles this time, perhaps on my next visit! ^_*
Overall, our trip to Thong Kee Café Taman Connaught Cheras is worth it. The food here are good, generous in portion with reasonable pricing. We will definitely come back to Thong Kee Café in the future.
I felt like having pasta but I was in the mood for something dry, yet thick and creamy and this carbonara dish was suggested to me. It was axactly what I wanted. The pasta gooey and creamy … imagine a mix of whipping cream + full cream milk with cheese and egg yolk? Give it a nice mix and then slurp up the pasta … yummm!!! The bacon added some texture, some crispyness and flavor, saltiness to the dish overall. A filling and tasty dish.
Overall food was just average so I don't want say much about it.
The new shop is bright and clean and operates between 11am to 9pm daily (except Thursdays). I had the wantan mee with char siew (RM6) while Hubby had the Hakka fried pork wantan mee (RM7.50). I like the thin springy noodles, which are coated in a dark sauce. The char siew was a bit too lean for my liking, so I'll stick to the dumplings (sui kow) next time. My noodles also came with three wantan in a small bowl of soup.
