As the name says it, their speciality is fresh steam fish. We know that if the fish is not fresh, it can’t be steamed. Usually, we only deep fry fish that are not fresh. The place was crowded as usual.
We enjoyed the char kway teow but felt that the Superior Soup was just average. If we come back to try other dishes, we won't order the pig stomach soup again.
All in all, Restoran New Lucky will be a dining spot that I am most happy to share about because just how often do you get to savour in such exquisite delicacies for a fraction of the price as compared to in Singapore?
3.5/5。Overall food is good and hygenic Price Cheaper than expected Environment: 环境也不错,分数3.5/5,Comfortable Service: 但服务生水平需要提升,例如我预订了莲花包菜,但年关近,那天因为太繁忙没办法出这道菜,我到最后才知道。餐馆方面有做一些折扣给我作为补偿。服务生反应不够快,服务若要打分2.5/5,For service wise they did not reserve the dish that We pre-ordered, and the waiters are not responsive enough Overall 整体3.5/5.
The bun that they used is toasted bun. The chicken patty is a grilled marinated chicken chop with teriyaki sauce. The sauce has made the burger a little bit too sweet but the cheese on the top of the patty has synthesise the taste with some salty taste. So, it won’t feel too greasy.
Coffee Signature is an Unique Container Concept Cafe. Our Signature is Sweet Rain Coffee, Dessert and Brunch.
With everything being so tantalising, it is impossible to settle for only a dish or two. IT WAS INDEED A BRUNCH-WORTHY WEEKEND!
Restoran Ah Piaw – Wanton Noodles at Johor Bahru Malaysia
It was by chance. Our main objective was to digest the good food from Hai Kee Seafood and I suggested strolling to another area. p.s. it's an excuse for me to check if there would be any interesting place around.
Ah Soon Bak Kut Teh 亚顺肉骨茶 is one of the old established names in JB with many long time regulars who swear by their fresh pork in mildly savoury herbal broth.
Chewing the tastes of sweet, savoury, spicy hot gelled with the creamy texture of tender fat and lean pork makes a delightful treat for the taste buds. We will be back for Ah Soon's bak kut teh for many more years to come :)
A long time ago, before the rise of decent shopping centres in Johore Bahru, many Singaporeans would visit JB simply for food and many would be aware of this Taman Sri Tebrau Hawker Centre, also known as 大马花园.
I enjoyed the robust bone stock, fresh quality pork and excellent house made chili sauce at Wang Xiang Noodle.
I am recommending Yap Wan Tan Mee at Sri Tebrau Hawker Centre for its eggy tenderly springy house made noodles which are well complemented by their tasty aromatic sauces.
Forty year old Lim Beef Mee 老林牛腩面 is the oldest beef noodle stall and the Lims are among the oldest hawkers of Johor Bahru.
A Malaysian friend recently commented that I visited Malaysia more often than he returns to his home in Johor Bahru, and I can only smile and encourage him to go home more frequently.
Friendscino turns it Restaurant into the best entertainment bar by nightfall with the wide range of best chilled beer in town, the restaurant turns into the most preferred bar to spend the evening.
Grill Salmon RM 39.90 As stated in the name, this is a grilled salmon pasta. They are not stingy with their salmon and you definitely get what you pay.
Rasa Hakka Restaurant serves well as a fuss-free dining option and a good alternative if you want to take a break from your usual pit stops.
We enjoyed ourselves at Kofuku-Tei 幸福窝 steamboat / yakitori as we like the lovingly made MSG free soup base, live / fresh ingredients and interesting dips. Pricing is competitive.
Service here was not too prompt but I wish to be back again to enjoy their main courses for their environment is good and relaxing.
Cuma kuss semangat, ekon kemain sejuk oiii..
8/10. Definitely deserves to be talked about more. I almost can’t believe it was the first time I’ve heard of it when I went here and it was so grand! Good food (and their Opera cake actually looks REALLY GOOD). Bubz Rates (My girlfriend): 8/10. Really good food - worth every cent!
Despite it being peak lunch hour, the service at Restoran Yew Swee was fast, and the waitresses were attentive.
YOU CAN ORDER MEN HOON KUIH WITH YOUR CURRY LAKSA. +++ Brownie points. :D A small bowl of laksa was definitely more than enough for me - look at how generous the toppings are! Fishball, fired tofu skin, tofu, cockles, bean sprout...simmering in a rich curry laksa broth with a strong hint of coconut milk. Simply divine. The laksa here is more towards the lemak-y side (read: rich in coconut milk!), I tend to steer clear from food that is rich in coconut milk but Yew Swee curry laksa is a huge exception!
Restoran Yew Swee has the top band of laksa, kway teow soup, lor mee, mee hoon kueh, and their oversized prawn cracker is very good too.
But, truth be told, good San Lou Dry Bee Hoon is very rare now. Quickly come to Ah Kaw's restaurant while he is still wielding the wok 😄
we set off for ah kow 三楼米粉 at pelangi, reaching there about 6.20pm. the 三楼米粉 was really good!
The mee hoon is steamed before. IT have this very soft texture. The chef need to control the timing. If too soft, the mee hoon will cluster together. If too hard, the texture is gone.
Ke Ren Lai 客人来 is a nice comfortable place in JB to get to know many traditional Hakka dishes.
Lei Cha is the highlight of the shop which attracts our visit. White rice or brown rice (at your choice) are blanketed with full range of finely cut vegetables, like Kai Lan, cabbage, long beans, fried beancurd and dried radish, indeed a very healthy choice. The taste of the hearty meal is enhanced with a pinch of crushed peanut. If you a typical Hakka, you will definitely love and appreciate your rice to be flooded with the ground tea. Yummy!
Sweet Blossom Coffee Roasters is a cafe that serves only coffee and small batch roastery in Johor Bahru that sells readily roasted beans.
Pricing was a little steep at over RM 10. Nonetheless, the latte art was really adorable!

I like Tai Hong's lei cha because the ingredients are fresh, and nicely done - the vegetables are juicy and crunchy even after soaking in vegetable "tea".
Overall, it is a good place for breakfast or lunch, the foods were served pretty fast, so if you looking for quick meal, this place is highly recommended. With the wide variety of foods, I bet you will definitely find something suit you.
One of the popular Bak Kut Teh eateries in Johor Bahru, Malaysia is Restoran Kota Zheng Zong Bak Kut Teh, sometimes known as “Sentosa Zheng Zong Bak Kut Teh”...
Arriving sizzling hot in a claypot, the first thing you would notice is that it is bountiful of ingredients as the crispy beancurd skin and chopped spring onions act as a blanket over. ‘Open’ it up and take a sip of the rich, brownish-coloured soup. There is a lot going on in terms of its flavours, and surprisingly it is delicately herbal but not overly intense.
Perhaps the only thing that make them different is that they are offering Spanish Iberico Pork, however, if you want that, you have to make a booking in advance.
