This seems to be a fusion cafe, combining local and western cuisine. Lei Cha (RM 16) is not bad, fragrant. Mee Jawa (RM 16) is tasty and fragrant, soft noodles and quite a few crunchy..
We’re suckers for pretty teapots – and the Lei Cha here is served in one. We loved it! We had ours with brown rice and added fried anchovies (RM20 in total) for more protein. The flavours were superb – the mint-basil soup is less minty than we are used to and is slightly more savoury.
Visited Munching Mob a few weeks ago , The cafe is located in Esplanad . Black wall , ceiling-to-floor windows facade , completed with few backyard tables & cushioned stools . cozy ambience that Munching Mob cafe having . Munching Mob is more like a neighbourhood cafe , cozy and welcoming , very much suitable for family crowd . From comfort food like Nasi Lemak Chicken to Curry Chicken Rice, Western fares such as Fish & Chips, Chicken Chop, light sweet selections including waffle and pancakes are worth discovered . Serving up their own version of American and Asian fusion cuisine .
Whenever I am in this area (Arked Esplanad Bukit Jalil), I would eat at Friendship Cafe (despite its name, it is just a common coffee shop with a few hawker stalls) or at On On Bak Kut Teh (another common coffee shop nearby). On this day, Friendship Cafe was closed and it was full house at On On Bak Kut Teh so we ended up in a proper cafe.
Verdict: 1. Guāng is more like a family-friendly bar to me, with its ever inviting ambiance and excellent Japanese-Asian influence on its food. 2. Be it casual dining, after-work chill-out, or private gathering, I think this is a nice spot that scores fairly well in all aspects. 3. Recommended: Chiizu Gyoza Fondue, Osaka Pizza
This is a pretty unique Chinese neighborhood restaurant, with a slightly upscale price, yet they do come up with some pretty unique dishes. The Dongpo Pork (RM 65) is pretty good, but I feel it..
Better to make reservation or sit outside (come early). I think the food is pretty special and nice.
Finally, the most interesting dish served that night was a stir fried kailan with preserved olives and mustard leaves. Salty, earthy, oily are the flavors and textures that come to mind when eating this dish but the flavor profile is closest to kailan stir fried with mui choi and black beans. It's a pretty addictive flavor as it's rather salty but it's just the right level with rice.
Verdict: If I were staying nearby, this place would become my regular eating spot! Love the food here, and of course the affordable price!
Their prices are very affordable, portions are generous, and the service is impeccable – the latter is somewhat of a rarity in many F&B outlets in Malaysia – so a big thumbs up to the Yamatatsu team. If you’re planning to stop by for your Japanese/Taiwanese food fix, I suggest coming early to avoid the queue.
山達小舖,Yamatatsu,是位于old klang road的一间台式日本料理。2020年2月26日开始营业,由两位创办人“山“和“達“命名。Yamatatsu Cafe serves Taiwanese-Japanese cuisine, and located in Old Klang Road, Kua...
Dishes served in a clay pot always gets our attention. In this episode, we're trying out the famous Goon Wah XO Fish Head Noodles and Claypot Loh Shu Fun. We went to the original restaurant in Kuchai Lama to experience the authentic flavours and environment. The other main attraction in this restaurant is their Guinness Stout Chicken Wings. Needless to say, we simply had to try them all.
The Lou See Fun noodles in claypot was also mild without the generous among of salt or soy sauce.
Restaurant Goon Wah XO Fish Head Noodle 冠华XO鱼头米 is one of a hidden gem in Kuchai Lama. Located slightly off from the main area or directly opposite KFC drive thru is a place where you would want to consider to pay a visit.
Lunch for 2 pax at Wonton Pho at Jalan Lazat 2, Happy Garden/OUG Garden. Beef Pho at MYR 15.90 nett and spring roll (Goi Cuon) at MYR 8.50 nett.
I ordered stew beef noodle (soup) at MYR 16.90 nett. The soup has a strong star anise taste which I like. There are many pieces of beef and a lot of noodles so I had difficulty finishing it.
Marinated pork belly with rice at MYR 17.90 nett. It looks like braised pork that I am used to eating but it tastes different as it does not have the star anise taste. But it still is tasty as I like the hard boiled egg in this dish.
𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥 : 𝐎𝐦𝐠 𝐘𝐀𝐒, this is 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐆𝐞𝐦, especially when you are a fan of all those retro old-times vibes. Highly recommend this place to everyone.
That dry butter chicken was utterly delicious. It was not the usual creamy, wet butter chicken variety but this was made in a way that was similar to butter prawns? It was dry with fried butter, egg bits scattered all over. Yea, it tasted exactly like butter prawns except it was chicken here. Delicious!
I enjoyed eating the Fried Fish Noodles In Creamy Soup, which comes with a huge portion of deep-fried fish fillets while Fish Paste Noodles In Clear Soup was equally as delicious as bouncy tender fresh fish paste in flavourful soup cooked with cabbage and tomatoes.
Recently, i found a buzz worthy spots to get your seafood fix with scrumptious food and reasonable price. Located at Kuchai Lama, Best BB Restaurant offers fresh seafoods, and provides a comfortable, friendly atmosphere to its customers. As you walk into Best BB Restaurant, you are greeted by the sight of traditional red tablecloths, giving you the feel of a traditional Chinese restaurant.
Hey! Where do you usually get your seafood fix? If ambiance is not your priority, you should really check out Best BB Restaurant in Kuchai Lama. The restaurant has been around for quite some time, boasts a fair share of regular customers well known for its unpretentious, great value and amazing foods. Another plus point was the ample parking available nearby.
Also bought a big portion of deep fried Akame Fish at MYR 23.50+ (6% SST = MYR 24.91 nett). The spring onions, chilli, red onions, gingers garnishing gave the fish the taste of our favourite deep fried salt and chilli pepper squid. Akame Fish is also known as Japanese Barramundi or Lates japonicus or Japanese Lates. Tasty!
My bowl of unfried fish noodles at MYR 12.5+ (MYR 13.25 nett). I prefer non fried fish because I am cutting down on deep fried food.
Fresh fish fillet soup (no noodles) at MYR 11.90 nett which is the same price as those choices with noodles in them. There are a lot of bones in the fish fillets. Many prefer deep fried fish pieces to this.
Overall the food at Hani Steamfood Restaurant is good. The seafood here is very fresh and it offers natural original taste without much seasoning. The food prices are depending on seafood weight but it is still manageable. If you are looking at pork free and fresh seafood, you should visit Hani Steamfood Restaurant at Jalan Puchong.
For a simple light drink to go with, as I want to maintain my palate for the night simple. Ginza Spritz – Kinsey Gin, Mathilde Poire Liqueur, Nigori Yuzushu, Shiso leaves, Lemon and a splash of Soda @ RM 38 is one of a right drink to hunt for. Simple yet spot on with few flavours that linger in your mouth. This is like the limited edition bottle or its supply is very limited. One of a very unique flavour. Its kind of must try if you are a gin lover.
Reasons to visit Sakura Den: fun Asian-themed setting and beverage list; retox while you detox; creative craft cocktails with big Asian flavours.
(502) Homemade Spicy Soup Pan Mee, 11.30 ringgit. They would ask you whether you would want some vinegar to be added into your soup and I decided to give it a try, since the guy did assure me that it would taste good, nothing too overly strong. I liked it, the vinegar offered a lil extra kick to the soup, just a lil. I do not like the taste of bitterness that accompanies vinegar but you would hardly taste the bitterness here. It dooes seem like when mixed with the spicy soup, the bitterness changes to something more appealing and pleasant. I liked it.
The forking cork is a wine & whisky bar restaurant bar for the entrepreneurial minded. A retail bar which supplies great variety of wines and whisky.
The Forking Cork, a wine & whisky restaurant bar that is named cheekily for laughs, however with serious vision to provide a comfort zone for their patrons. A cosy space for entrepreneurs, business people to get connected under their roof over comfort food, wine & other booze. Nonetheless, it’s also catered for casual social purposes of course – like just to chill and hang our after work in the neighbourhood without needing to sardine with other people in the city.
The name itself – The Forking Cork is indeed cheeky and considered one of a hidden gem in OUG. The Forcking Cock is a wine and whisky bar where their original objective is to be a place for business meet up. Besides that, it is also perfect for some of you that love to hang out some where nearby and need not drive all the way to KL to enjoy your alcohol intake.
The Nyonya Laksa especially, da bomb yawww. The broth was thick and flavorful. It was spicy but not in a way that makes your nose runny or you excessively sweating. It was perfect. I couldn’t get enough of their cili sambal, requested for top up several times. The dish came with a good portion of mee + mee hoon, tauhu, chicken strips, cucumber, egg. Yummy it was. I enjoyed this a whole lot. Most definitely will reorder.
在KL居然能吃到日本進口的海鮮,而且還是 Omakase 套餐,絕對是物超所值啦!✨溫馨提醒,記得要訂位,店家每天只供應30份而已哦!
A Japanese market-like restaurant where the seafood they serve are all freshly air-flown and wild-catched from Japan. It means the seafood have never been put through the freezing process and have to be consumed within two days. Freshness overload!
