No doubt that the Bee Hoon was cut into shorter strands for us to consume easily, my guests and I found that our bowls of Laksa were a tad on the spicier side. Nonethess, what matter most was that they enjoyed our local food and got to taste it finally.
I should eat here more often.
328 Katong Laksa in Singapore defeated Gordan Ramsay in the 2013 Hawker Heroes Challenge. It is just that good. This is one of the two best laksa in Singa..
Overall the food at JUMBO Seafood is good, it is a bit pricey due to the currency exchange. We probably expected more from the taste of the Herbal Drunken Live Prawns and the Signature Chili Crabs. The service here is good, something we must mention. We will definitely come back again in the future after we taste other Chili Crabs in other restaurants in Singapore. No regrets visiting JUMBO Seafood East Coast Seafood Centre again in Singapore.
An surprising twist, both ingredient combined well together, and each individual ingredient has their own unique and wasn't overpowering.
Overall, it was quite a nostalgic and nice experience eating at Jumbo again as this place has been around since I was like 10.
With a long history in Peranakan food, I was expecting more from them. Overall, I find that the food was quite ordinary and there are better ones out there I have tried.
Started in 1953, this restaurant boasts to be the oldest Peranakan restaurant in Singapore.
Overall dinner was pleasant with friendly service staffs and hearty homely feel dishes here.
Mee siam was below our expectation. It is like a signature dish here, and we expected dry, very flavourful mee siam. but it was wet with gravy piled on it. still tasty ok, but not quite meeting our expectations.
We hope that with new owners, Chilli Padi Nonya Joo Chiat would still be a place for cheap and good Peranakan food; and we certainly don’t want to see fancy bua kulauk ice cream or itek sio wrap replacing authentic traditional Peranakan dishes on Chilli Padi’s menu.
Peranakan Inn & Lounge Review
This is by far the most ridiculous experience I ever had in any restaurant in Singapore.
Bedok Food Centre - Best Nasi Rawon is by far Solo Satay located at 1 Bedok Rd, Singapore 46957, Nasi Ayam Penyet, Nasi Ambeng
Nasi Jenganan is only available on Sundays, Nasi Rawon available daily.
With a decent plate of hokkien mee plus fast and impeccable service, this is a pretty good place to stop by for residents in the area. They’re also planning to expand onto food delivery platforms with food and drink bundles, so do look forward to that!
Yet, with such filling portions and economical prices, word-of-mouth is all the publicity it needs.
Bread is no longer the focus at Gastrosmiths and it is a pity because they used to do such awesome possome freshly baked bread.
GastroSmiths Katong 112 has an interesting menu and the food is of good quality and enjoyable. The coffee is good too. The service is commendable. The dining space is pleasant and comfortable. We were suitably impressed by this delightful modern bistro in Katong.
But Seoul Garden HotPot definitely challenges this conception with their delectable wagyu dishes, which left us full to the brim and well satisfied.
Yun Xiang Sarawak Kolo Mee & Laksa impressed me with its authentic and familiar flavours – even though the chef isn’t from Sarawak!
