The course mellows out to finish in a Tuak Sorbet with Gula Melaka Syrup, Coconut Flakes, and Rose Rice Cake. To get the perfect taste, we were instructed to blend in the ingredients together. It is somehow more flavorful, balanced by a delicate sweetness and texture. All well ends well with a cup of Nutmeg Tea.

Our favourite here would be their Teow Chew Style Spicy and Sour Soup (RM 12.80). You can to choose the types of noodles and what toppings you like to have. Garnished with chives and preserved vegetable, the soup is the key point that whips up the wow factor. It packs a balanced taste between spicy and sour (you get to choose your spiciness level but medium should be great), and induced a warm sensation on your throat and stomach lining upon gulping it. Somehow, this simple dish managed to squeeze into our list of comfort food!

We had some small bites for the night too. For beers drinkers, the Mish Mash Roast Pork (RM 30) which is seasoned with 5 different spices might be a great choice. It had a nice balance of lean to fat meat and a slight crisp skin. Dip the roast pork to the different sauces provided for a better enjoyment.

The unusual Duck Lover Platter of Trio offers the duck chowder with bread stick, smoked duck on toast with tomato cilantro salsa and a Thai-style duck roll. Served with pieces of duck meat and button mushroom, the chowder boiled with vegetables was creamy enough. This appetizer with a wonderful interplay of flavors and textures is well worth a try.

It will be a huge loss if you did not give a try on their Cempedak Crumble during your visit. It is made of real cempedak (jackfruit) evident by the fibrous texture in the cake, and the flavour of the jackfruit is amazing. The cake just strikes the balance of the sweetness point. Crumbles topping and base provide some crunch texture that aided in the enjoyment.

This is my favourite which is Artisan bread, also the simplest of all. A simple toast with just butter and blueberry jam. The toast is so good that the texture is nice, where the size is also slightly thicker, spread it with butter and bluberry I would go 3 slices of it. One of the problem for travelers or outstation guest that drive will be parking issue as the place here is quite limited in parking space. Price range of this hotel is starting from RM300 onwards.

Normally I’m not a fan of pork chops as the ones I’ve had previously have all turned out too dry for my liking. Surprisingly, Naughty Nuri’s Grilled Pork Chops begged to differ. The juicy cut of meat (sourced very carefully with just the right amount of fat vs lean meat) was lightly seasoned with salt and pepper and grilled to perfection. The meat was succulent and even better when eaten together with that layer of melt-in-your mouth fat.

White curry mee in Red Garden is really a hidden gem that not many people know! The taste is rich, and after adding the chili it makes a sleek finishing for the soup. Strongly recommended if you happen to visit Red Garden. Lor Mee is another great option too, having a aromatic soup with decent fluidity despite it being a starch soup. Add the chili and garlic to give it an elevation in terms of taste.

Market Fish Risotto was another dish with pleasant surprises... the Fish was beautifully cooked with a tacky crisp skin... it was reasonably seasoned as well. But the real draw of the dish was the Risotto, unlike traditional creamy ones, Chef Jackie's rendition comes with a refreshing tropical tone... evidently seen from the addition of Pineapples and Apples, apart from the sweet Vegetables (like Asparagus and Carrots). There were many things going on with just a bite, it can be an addictive dish.

Urban Spice Cafe is often overshadowed by the neighboring mural paints and Poke Stops at the tourist-centric Armenian-Aceh Street zone or rather, the cafe remains low-key despite of its opening in early 2016. The cafe is housed in a 8 decade-old heritage house; the exterior looks dull and uninspiring but the interior suggests otherwise. The interior is chic yet, preserving the heritage elements. Minimal renovation was done to the heritage building, probably some touches to refine the period pieces. On the menu, it challenges its competitors with the usual cafe fare- All Day Breakfast, Pasta dishes and locals delights but we were surprised that it does not receive the same kind of attention that most cafes (with similar menus) do; that does not mean that Urban Spice Cafe isn't worth the visit nevertheless. Eat then Scream sounds like the ideal case for Eat Scream but we are not too sure whether it's for the good or otherwise. The newly opened cafe at Noordin Road, Georgetown offers a range of Indonesian delights and a series of Ice Ganefo (also known as Popsicle). The place is clean with simple setting but more than comfortable enough for a casual meal. The term came into common usage in self-reference to the large ethnic Chinese migrant population in Southeast Asia. The last imperial dynasty of China ruling from 1644 to 1911. leading to an expansion of the Chinese communities in the Nanyang. As a result of historical migrations, colonisation by foreign powers, and its geographical position within its wider home region, Nanyang's culinary style in the present day is primarily a melange of traditions from its Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indonesian and ethnic Bornean citizens, with heavy to light influences from Thai, Portuguese, Dutch, and British cuisines, to name a few. This resulted in a symphony of flavours, making Nanyang cuisine highly complex and diverse.
