Decided to an older establishment instead, a few months’ ago. Sou Omakase Dining has been around for 6 years, and still going strong given its location and decent pricing.
Located in "Mid Valley City Mall", and near to entrance the Gardens Hotel is the "Sou Omakase Dining" which offers no other menu but only Omakase dining experience starting at rm$88 to rm$350+; available as Lunch or Dinner options.
Verdict: For person that never been to Japan like me, it’s always good to have chance to sample food or produces freshly bring in to our country. If you are Japanese food enthusiasts, don’t attempt to miss this!
Overall, it's okay.
Attention All Pork Lovers! If you enjoyed pork cuisine cooked in any styles, then you are in for a treat for the pork-licious menu by Ticklish Ribs & 'Wiches has to offer in their menu. I was at their newly opened 2nd outlet at The Garden Mall, Mid Valley recently to check out a few of their best dishes cooked in the most traditional Asian recipes but served in new ways.
Pork lovers out there, this place will definately feed you well as they are hitting most of their items all about porks.
Red curry [Pork (RM19.80)/ Seafood (RM23.80)] If you adore hot and spicy food, this dish is not to be missed. There's just something so unique about Thai's red coconut, which sits on the sweeter side in comparison to Malaysian curry, but delicious in their very own distinct way. This curry is ideal to be eaten with rice, its thick and savoury broth would make you engulf the rice in no time. We opted for pork, and they were pretty fresh and came in decent amount. Basically their curry is on par with most of the Thai food chains out there, but are more reasonably priced. So the next time you're craving for Thai curry but not ready to burn a hole in your wallet, this place is definitely your go to.
I can't believe that for lunch, I only had this bowl of Red Ruby dessert at Tiffin's, Midvalley Mall. It was just ok, nothing to go back for.
To finish off our Thai dining experience, we tried the Seafood Tom Yum (RM28.80). The soup had a little bit of heat but is not overly spicy. A small plate of chopped chillies is placed on the side for customers to put it according to their preferred level of spiciness. Needless to say we dumped it all. If you like spicy food like us, you will probably like the hints of spicy kick in this dish.
Don’t miss out their Roasted Beef with the Condiments, Their Hawaiian Pineapple Pizza, Fruits Salad, Cream of Mushroom Soup, Prawn Bisque Soup, Mussel Provencal, Chicken Lagsana, Oven Baked Fish Piccata, Baked Baby Potatoes with Herbs, Traditional Roasted Turkey with Sage Stuffing Served with Giblet and Sauerkraut and the Cranberry Sauce, Roasted Lamb Leg Roll with the grilled Vegetables, Mint Sauce & Mustard Sauce, The Boulevard Signature Pasta, Vegetable Pies and more.
On 20th December 2019, Wild Rice Restaurant, located on level 9 will be offering its Christmas Buffet which is priced at RM98.00 Nett per person (free for children aged 7 and below) and RM69.00 Nett for Senior Citizen and children aged 8 to 12 years old).
Next, proceed to the Char Koay Teow stall to get your Char Koay Teow fix. The dish itself is slightly sweet with a hint of spiciness and comes with a generous amount of condiments
I accompany my friends who wanted to eat lunch at Kim Gary, Midvalley Mall. I ordered a set lunch of beef steak pasta with black pepper sauce at MYR 14.90+ (10% service tax = MYR 16.40 nett) which included soup and drink. I kept half of the pasta for dinner but ate all the steak as the beef steak is just two thin slices of beef marinated in black pepper sauce. I left most of the sauce uneaten.
When we walked out of the restaurant, we noticed that there was a long queue waiting to get in as always. I think there is always a long queue because the price for the sets is quite good and there are many lunch set choices but as the food is too flavouful for me, I seldom eat here unless my friends wanted to have their meals here.
The ribs are well marinated with herbs so they are delicious without any oink oink taste.
We ordered the pork chop rice lunch set which includes the main meal, a drink and a side dish which turned out to be ladyfingers. The sauce for the pork chop is sweet marmite which I like. I was surprised to see fries served with rice so I ate the fries while my spouse ate the rice
Zun express at Midvalley Mall. CNY set lunch for 2 pax at MYR 56.80++ (MYR 65.57 nett). Add 2 hard boiled eggs for MYR 1.20++ (10% service charge and 6% SST = MYR 1.40 nett) each.
我点的这份烤肉山 Bulgogi Mountain是牛肉口味的, 若你不吃牛肉可以选择猪肉。
This Kyung Joo Korean Restaurant is located on the highest floor in Midvalley Mall, near the cinemas. It is next to Taiwan Recipe.
Overall, it was a good lunch for us. It was a normal Korean Food for me but her friend enjoyed it. I am glad that she enjoyed her food.
What do We Like about Nanyang Cafe, Mid Valley? -Traditional breakfast menu in pleasant environment -The cocktail bun was a tasty surprise
I ordered the same noodle as during my previous visit to the One Utama branch - Grouper Fish Slices Mi Xian (Thick Mee Hoon) MYR16+ (MYR17.60 nett). Taste just as good as before.
A glass of Cham Hot and Ah Cheng Assam Laksa with Fish (MYR 12.90+ 6% SST = MYR 13.67 nett) but where is the fish? Ok, found it at the bottom of the bowl. It is only half a fish.
When we are at Midvalley Mall and cannot decide on what to eat, our backup plan is to share this meal at Ah Cheng Laksa eatery.
Nasi Lemak Rendang Chicken at MYR 10.90+ (6% SST = MYR 11.55 nett) which is priced a bit lower than the Nasi Lemak Pandan Rendang Chicken (MYR 13.67 nett) at Nyonya Leaf. I like this Rendang gravy because it is full of lemongrass and ginger taste so this is our new place to eat Nasi Lemak Rendang Chicken. The portion of rice given is quite large, more than enough for 2 small eaters
I ordered the multigrain lontong dish. It has half a hard boiled egg, long beans, cabbage, brinjal, carrot, tempeh, glass noodles and about 7 cubes of compressed rice made from multigrain rice so it is not as soft as the rice cubes in the lontong that I have eaten at Ole Melaka, DC Mall and AMAH, the Sphere. The curry is creamy, not that spicy so it is suitable for me but it is more on the sweet side (I prefer it to be less sweet). I kept half for dinner.
My bowl of organic black bean soup (with no black beans in it) with lots of ingredients - bean curd paste, carrots, mushrooms, vegetables with the noodle of my choice at MYR 16.90 nett. I selected brown rice mee suah and kept half of it for dinner as they serve quite a big portion of the noodles. The soup is very flavourful without any MSG because I do not feel thirsty at all after drinking all the soup.
Lately I have been eating at vegetarian specialty eateries because my co-workers wanted to eat there and I am ok to eat there once in a while. This time, instead of BMS Organics, we went to Simple Life because my friend felt like having their Organic Black Bean Soup that she had tried before.
I chose lala fried mee hoon as the other dish and ate it the next day. I did not expect the oyster omelette to be spicy. It was on the oily side too. I did not count the number of oysters but I think there were about 6 oysters. The eggs covered the gooey stuffs which were quite firm so it did not feel gooey. Quite acceptable except that it was a bit too spicy for me so I don't think I will order this again.
We always buy the chee cheong fun with 5 pieces of YTF set with curry gravy because we prefer to eat chee cheong fun than rice even though the price for the rice set is lower than the ccf set.
Pulut kuning beef rendang (Turmeric glutinous rice with beef cooked with spices and coconut milk) - MYR9.90+ 6% GST which is MYR10.50 nett. While the price stays the same, the portion now is much smaller.
The Main highlight here is The Cendol Kampung Hulu, The cendol here really good and different from the normal cendol instead of using normal shaved ice and they use shaved iced coconut milk, The shaved ice coconut milk gives the cendol a very soft velvety rich texture almost like coconut ice cream.
