Victoria Green Corner is a house turned artsy cafe, the cafe is dedicated to serving Nyonya-influenced menu. There's no clear signage out the front but the interiors are sparkling and stunning. It displays a great amount of antiques, ranging from the ancient Chinese toga to the recent Nyonya's collection of crockery set. The decors are eye-pleasing, with some of them designed by the daughter of the restaurateur. The menu is small and some of the offering is common but the real pull factor is the homey ambiance. If you are into Nyonya-inspired dishes, this place is worth a look. Victoria Green Corner can be found behind Union Primary School, opposite Westlands Secondary School.

The course mellows out to finish in a Tuak Sorbet with Gula Melaka Syrup, Coconut Flakes, and Rose Rice Cake. To get the perfect taste, we were instructed to blend in the ingredients together. It is somehow more flavorful, balanced by a delicate sweetness and texture. All well ends well with a cup of Nutmeg Tea.

This is my favourite which is Artisan bread, also the simplest of all. A simple toast with just butter and blueberry jam. The toast is so good that the texture is nice, where the size is also slightly thicker, spread it with butter and bluberry I would go 3 slices of it. One of the problem for travelers or outstation guest that drive will be parking issue as the place here is quite limited in parking space. Price range of this hotel is starting from RM300 onwards.

White curry mee in Red Garden is really a hidden gem that not many people know! The taste is rich, and after adding the chili it makes a sleek finishing for the soup. Strongly recommended if you happen to visit Red Garden. Lor Mee is another great option too, having a aromatic soup with decent fluidity despite it being a starch soup. Add the chili and garlic to give it an elevation in terms of taste.

Market Fish Risotto was another dish with pleasant surprises... the Fish was beautifully cooked with a tacky crisp skin... it was reasonably seasoned as well. But the real draw of the dish was the Risotto, unlike traditional creamy ones, Chef Jackie's rendition comes with a refreshing tropical tone... evidently seen from the addition of Pineapples and Apples, apart from the sweet Vegetables (like Asparagus and Carrots). There were many things going on with just a bite, it can be an addictive dish.

Their French Toast was a mediocre dish, Baguette-alike bread was used in lieu of soft-fluffy bread, the outcome was a hard-chewy piece of French Toast sans the eggy aroma. Overall, De Secret Garden is a unique place to have a private dining experience with your closed ones. Since there is no menu from the restaurant, it gives you the unexpected rather than the expected, and that’s what makes the dining experience unique and exciting. The maximum allocation for De Secret Kitchen is 18-20 pax upon reservation only. Dinner starts from 6pm till midnight. Currently, it is priced at RM188 per pax, which is considered very reasonable for private dining. Menu will be seasonal and you can state your preference in advance. Go Noodle House - Gurney Plaza 有間麵館 Restaurant

170-07-02/03, Gurney Plaza Persiaran Gurney 10250 Georgetown Penang

The story of GO Noodle House revolves around the values of rela onship. Using this family recipe, which evolved from the Qing Dynasty, as a base, the group of friends re ned the technique and set up the very rst GO Noodle House in 2014. Using superior pork broth, enhanced with premium yellow rice wine, as a base – diners can choose a variety of noodles and toppings to make a delicious and wholesome meal. A crowd favourite is GO Noodle House’s signature mi xian, which is made from pure rice our. The signature bursting meatball is also an ever present in almost every order. An exceptionally popular and fairly casual noodle-specialist hailed from central Malaysia has recently expanded its business operations to Penand and has finally swung opened its doors to the public. Go Noodle House's first Penang branch is strategically located in Gurney Plaza (7th floor/ opposite to SenQ). Beelines of long queues have been spotted for the past few days. The brand has gained strong reputation in terms of quality and wallet-friendly price tags. Go Noodle House is also famed for its signature clear-soup noodles, finished with Chinese Wine. The no-frills restaurant offers a simple home-styled cooking menu that features two types of noodle dishes- Clear Soup and Pan Mee (available from Rm 9.90). We were certainly impressed with the food quality, but we thought their service level could be further improved (or perhaps, the restaurant is still new and the staff lacked of experience and training).

Just wait for the water to boil and you can start dipping your Lok Lok into the hot water. Mix and match with your own choice of seafood/fish balls or whatever ingredients. One thing for sure, their seafood were very fresh on that day, particularly the squid and prawns, so succulent and juicy, I don't mind having more right now. Eat then Scream sounds like the ideal case for Eat Scream but we are not too sure whether it's for the good or otherwise. The newly opened cafe at Noordin Road, Georgetown offers a range of Indonesian delights and a series of Ice Ganefo (also known as Popsicle). The place is clean with simple setting but more than comfortable enough for a casual meal. It's a cafe dedicated entirely to serve a local menu, though at affordable-reasonable price range, we thought Eat Scream's menu is rather weak and they will need to come out with something more sturdy to compete with its competitors. As far as location is concerned, Eat Scream can be found opposite to Noordin Mews at Noordin Road.

Coffee 1911's Platter features a blend of Western and Asian elements, the most distinctive item is of course none other than its home-made Otak-Otak. The combination of Beef Bacon, Sausages, Otak-Otak and Toast does not seem to blend in... perhaps it works for sharing but does not constitute a good main. Also, for the price of Rm 24, we thought it was a little on the expensive side
