The 叉燒 charsiew isn't the tender type and slightly chewy, perhaps no the best pork part for the charsiew recipe.
Today, for breakfast USJ10's "南京茶餐室 Kedai Kopi Nanking's vegetarian Economy Bee Hoon/Mee for rm$6 comes with fried Bee Hoon plus 2 vegetarian dishes of 咖哩蔬菜 Vegetable Curry and 假素食鴨肉 Fake Vegetarian Duck meat.
The stall offers 10 variants of buns from rm$4 - rm$6 with choices of Dry Meat, Ham, Bacon, or Taiwanese Sausage with or without Egg or Cheese.
At rm$17.90, it is a little pricey, but the portion of the pork chop is probably good for a 2 person lunch deal.
Simple, filling and warming, this is some serious comfort food.
Since its re-opening for dine-in from February 10, both Foo Hing and Jing Xuan have been packed with customers.
Basically, we now have 3 "affordable Dim Sum" (there are others of course) in USJ and each of them aren't too bad have their own fan customers.
All the Dim Sum sampled today were above average and arrived to the table in less than 8-10 minutes despite the Restaurant was packed at lunch time today.
Dim Sum always worth ordering here is the Steamed fish ball, 燒賣 Siew Mai, as well as the 生肉包 Sheng Rou Bao.
besides the "蒸魚賣 Steamed Fishball" and "蒸腐竹卷 Steamed Beancurd" of which both are excellent non-prawn based dim sum!
Everything about Dim Sum today was good!
The rm$7 雲吞湯 Wanton Soup comes with 6 medium sized Wanton, also not bad.
I am having the duck meat with Wanton Mee which comes with the interesting "clear" and slightly salty duck sauce; interesting combination and definitely one of the best duck meat restaurants in town.
伟记 Restoran Wei Kee also offers Roasted Pork, CharSiew, and Farm Chicken as well as a dozen other dishes including Vegetables, Tofu, Curry Wild Boar, Vinegar Pork, Goose Wing and Goose Web! Definitely a few more items worth sampling at this Restaurant.
The eating area is likely air-conditioned, bright lights and noticeably quite clean.
Really cannot find those taste of Leong Ya in the old days!
There are 4 variants: Pork noodle (soup or dry), Pork Lard rice, Butter milk chicken Rice, and the Spicy claypot Loh Si Fun; all comes with choice of a side and a drink.
I recommend just go for the normal pork noodle at rm$8.80 (regular). The first 2 visits here previously since its opening left the restaurant with positive experience, definitely not today!
Definitely will be back to sample other dishes offered by USJ10's Mr J Kitchen.
The so called Knife cut Pan Mee all seem to "sticked together", soup seems a little saltier than I can handle, minced pork were ok.
I am pretty sure the other choices in the menu should be equally appetizing.
The Prawn Dumpling and Prawn Cheong Fun sampled were not bad but about 50% more expansive than the nearby USJ 21 Hoong Foong Dim Sum.
I like that "fake bbq chasiew", lol!
The menu as I can see is quite extensive with mostly local recipes of noodles, rice, and goreng-goreng; with price between rm$6 - rm$11+, seems quite reasonable.
All in all, Chuen Hainanese Chicken Rice & Noodles is one of the few new restaurants that aim to serve good value food. I think I have mentioned a few times about the generous portion size of the dishes here. So if you are looking for bang for your buck, this is the right place.
Best was the egg! the stall offers western varieties including spaghetti and chicken chop.
Nasi Lemak, Western, and other variety Chinese hawkers stalls
Fish paste was good (fresh, QQ) but noodles just average!
Nice, but the sauce was a "tad" too salty for my taste; else it was a good breakfast as well as watching Chong Ko preparing Hakka noodle for his customers.
My vegetarian nasi lemak with the faked curry mutton cubes was definitely delicious, I enjoyed it.
Restaurant Simon's offers a variety of menu items and some of their best are Asam Fish, Ginger spring onion Beef, Curry Fish Head, as well as Sotong Goreng.
For $2 extra, you get some service, slightly cleaner looking tables, generally better ambience, and air conditioning.
Tong Shui here is nice but perhaps lack variety!
Here, you can can your breakfast choices (4 variants) from rm$5 - rm$8.50, and 40+ variants of 肉排 Steaks and 意大利麵食 Pasta (豬肉 Pork, 羊肉 Mutton, 牛肉 Beef, 雞肉 Chicken, and 海鮮 Seafood) from rm$9 - rm$20.
