I am not sure if I've been here before, but it;s one of those large Cantonese restaurants serving banquets over multiple courses (65 Chulia Street #33-01, 6536-7833). That included that braised abalone and sea cucumber platter above, as well as that roast duck and steamed fish in the background.
I have been to at least 4 other outlets of Peach Garden Chinese Restaurant for their dim sum buffet and a la carte Chinese dishes buffet. A notable household name in Singapore, many Chinese families will choose Peach Garden as their venue for weddings or birthday celebrations. Serving authentic Cantonese cuisine, Peach Garden has strong accolades from publications like Singapore Tatler and Wine and Dine
A must-have delicacy for the Chinese New Year, the Black & White Sesame Nian Gao is soft and chewy with a very subtle hint of black sesame.
Our highlight of the night is this Braised Boston Lobster with Pearl Rice and Crispy Rice Toppings. I literally went ‘Wow” after my first mouth.
At Top of UOB Plaza, Si Chuan Dou Hua is running the “Deep Duck Secrets” Dining Promotion where diners get to enjoy free flow Roasted Peking Duck (北京片皮鸭). A big big yes to those amber crispy duck’s skin!
At Top of the UOB, “DEEP DUCK SECRETS” dining promotion is priced at S$58.00++ per person with a minimum for 2 pax. The free flow main course comprises 7 dishes, counting in an appetizer, soup, side dish, a rice or noodle course and a dessert.
A hidden place among the OCBC Centre for Authentic Fujian /Hokkien dishes that you will not get to see from the usual restaurants.
Food at Beng Thin Hoon Kee Restaurant is focused on Chinese Hokkien cuisine, with traditional Fujian dishes that you won't find elsewhere. With recipes spanning over 70 years, they're known for the consistent quality of execution and familiar comforting taste. Dishes are rustic and hearty, with portions sized for communal group dining. Prices are mid-range, but lower than most other Chinese restaurants, budget about SGD $31 per person for a meal here.
The Crabmeat Scrambled Eggs with Lettuce was a good dish that encourages us to have more greens.
Overall, I find that Qin Ji has a better and crispy Rougamo as compared to the one I recently had.
I've never liked the roujiamo at Qin Ji. Despite how awesome the crispy flaky carbs were, it was always ruined by the mucilagenous gravy that came with the meat.
More notably, I'm still rather disappointed in their roujiamo, which continues to have a crispy flaky bun, but also a goopy meat pie-like filling, even if the cumin version that I had today was a little spicier. I'm starting to lose interest in this place.
The braised pork was quite flavourful with various spices, and nicely minced with a balanced mix of fatty and lean meat, but was a bit too wet.
碗仔 Wan Zai is definitely a place to check out if you’re looking for affordable Taiwanese food in the CBD. Market Street Hawker Centre is also a place with many other great stalls to check out; let us know if there’s any particular one we should visit!
The fishballs ain't handmade either so just a bowl of mee kia that comes with a history. Word has it that the old couple may not renew their stall lease when the new Golden Shoe Market is up.
I like how everything is spelt out in black and white. Makes it easier for customers to know about their operating hours and prices.
I think the 海鲜酱炒甲巴 Seafood Sauce Fried Kapa is a must try here, the Seafood Sauce was quite amazing; really very tasty.
This is a very promising bowl of Wanton Mee at Market Street Interim Hawker Centre. Just look at the amount of ingredients in my $3.50 bowl.
the portion is quite substantial and with the fresh ingredients used, I think this is really value for money!
If I'm in the area, I'd rather eat here than at the soup stalls at Boon Tat Street or Telok Ayer Road, only because of the air-conditioning.
