As for the food, it did not disappoint. Each dish was delightful, with strong flavours and texture.

As a whole, I like the place as it is good for gathering and family dinners. Even if you are there to celebrate your birthday, they are there to help you play the birthday song in the background for you!

Hua Yu Wee, takes you a step back in time to days of old on the East Coast of Singapore. Loved by locals and travelled to from afar across Red Dot.

The sauce was very full tasting, heavy, sweet, savoury and vinegary, fully coating the soft noodles. The sliced and minced pork were fresh, and fishcake and fishballs bouncy. Nice stuff.

Definitely a stall worth returning to. Hopefully the other stalls do not disappoint too.

It is amazing how many firsts I gave to Lucky House, particularly when I went in without expectations and left so amazed. The big question remains - how to score another appointment without killing myself with the wait.

A signature is the Lucky House Roasted Duck. The duck is marinated in fish sauce and soy sauce for 2 days and air dried. It is then charcoal grilled in his hand-built oven. The result is smokiness, crispy skin and tender meat.
