The vinegar pork is so tender and its black sauce with a glossy reflection offers heat of ginger and sourish Chinese vinegar.
The restaurant has air conditioning and presents a homely atmosphere.
We enjoy a good HOME COOK Taste here.
The dish of chili sweet and sour crab with complex flavours is satisfying complemented by deep-fried mantou with which to mop up the sauce. The bbq crab, on the other hand, is a nice option if you don’t want to commit to heavy sauce.
With a name like Tsunami Village, it certainly reminds us of the tragic moment when Penang got hit by killer waves in 2004, that particular location was probably one of the affected areas. The place is extremely popular amongst tourist, we were literally surrounded by tourists and none of the diners were locals. We were unease in the fear of falling into a tourist trap and our instinct was unfortunately, right for this round. We were first impressed by the outdoorsy setting of the place, overlooking the beach of Tanjung Bungah... followed by its thick menu. We thought the prices are very steep but proceeded nevertheless. Unfortunately, none of the dishes were impressive....
I personally like their Almond Croissant, Ice Chocolate and Caesar Salad. Food here at Ang Ang's Roastery, Tanjung Bungah, Penang is good and environment is nice too. I did not try their cake this round, maybe i should next time. It is a nice place to hang out with family and friends.
The curry Black Pomfret was fresh fish in multi-flavoured spicy curry.
Nostalgia has a spacious dining hall with air conditioning.
Nevertheless, the hotel is still well connected to the city; Gurney Drive is just a 15-minute drive away.
OMG! Huge crispy chicken burger, crispy chicken chop is even bigger than my face. With buy 1 free 1 price, it only RM15 per burger. Super cheap!
Besides that, Tasty Kitchen offers its steamed fish in special sauce 剁椒蒸鱼. The fish was nicely steamed with heavy seasonings like brown bean paste, ginger, tingling chili peppers, and Sichuan peppercorns. This is certainly a dish for those who love spicy food.
One of the notable dishes at Tasty Kitchen would be the Chinese Bun- 肉夹馍... with a halved, dense Bun sandwiching shredded meat filling, pickled Chilies and a touch of savory-sweet sauce. The texture was somewhat similar to Kebab... pretty dense and can be quite filling
The broth is boiled in long hours using pork ribs and the taste is not too rich but instead it light and refreshing. Added with yao mak vege, fish ball, fish cake and minced meat, this is a great choice for those don't like heavy and fancy type Koay Teow Soup.
Mount Erskine Road Ah Siang Chicken Rice Stall had been operating for more than 20 years and this stall serve one of the most reasonable Chicken / Char Siew/ Siew Bak Rice in Penang. With the price of RM4.50 the portion of the meat and rice is big. The taste of the sauce is delightful while the flavored rice is savory yummy. During this MCO2.0 I have been trying out most of the chicken rice stalls in town, this is one of the recommended stalls.
Although the Wan Tan Mee is just mediocre in terms of taste, the unbelievably low price is what attracts all customers to this stall.
80多种火锅烧烤食材!可以选择煮、烤、蒸、炒!
We noticed most diners had their Ipoh Curry Mee on our visit, we were probably the only table that had both Koay Teow Th'ng and Ipoh Curry Mee. The broth of the Ipoh Curry Mee seems to be rather diluted in flavor but creamier than usual. It lacked of the salty-element and the overall taste was compromised. Fragrance-wise was alright but the lack of salinity spoilt the overall taste. Meat lovers can satisfy their crave for meat at additional cost of Rm 4.50... to top some home-made Roasted Pork Belly. Their Koay Teow Th'ng on the other hand, was mediocre. Both flavor and texture of the Koay Teow did not stand out, unlikely a bowl of Koay Teow Th'ng that could leave me a deep impression. I'd give it a miss if I were you.
With a name like Potato Leaf Cuisine, it gives us impression that the place serves Potato Leaves with style; it turned out that giving the Potato Leaves a quick stir fry with Soy sauce was what they could do. Disappointed with the lack of innovation, the Stir Fried Potato Leaves further disappointed us... it was over-seasoned and a tad salty to our liking. It was nevertheless, tender and young (and crunchy). Most dishes were disappointingly average with the exception of Curry Fish Head, which we thought it was cleverly cooked with a touch of spiciness.
