Rice with Roast Pork, BBQ Pork and Roast Chicken at MYR 17 nett. The Roast Chicken breast meat is tender so I like it. They put the Roast Pork on top of a piece of plastic sheet to keep the skin crispy by not soaking up the gravy from the rice. The gravy has a bit of Lap Cheong (wax sausage) taste. Both of us shared this packet of rice for lunch.
For the portion of dim sum and the quality of it, we did not think Jin Xuan is overpriced this round. It costed us less than RM 50 for all the dim sum.
This is our definitely favourite go-to spot to fix our dim sum crave in PJ! One of the best affordable dim sum in Petaling Jaya, it never fails to satisfy ou...
Dim sum dishes are at a price range of RM5 to RM7, with specialty dishes like the ribs racking up a more meaty price tag of RM13.
Verdict: The Wonton Mee didn’t impress us as much as I’ve expected because it is being listed as one of the Top 10 Wonton Mee to try in Klang Valley.
Difficult to complain a rm$5.50 plate of Wantan Mee, the "干撈燒腸雲吞麵 Dry Siew Cheong Wantan Mee" comes with 撈燒 Siew Cheong, 雲吞 Wantan, as well as dry Wantan Mee.
When you come to a place that has a food name in its name, you better order that dish to see if they did any justice adopting it. While not pictured here, the wantan was indeed quite massive by usual standard. But is bigger better? Like other things, it's a personal preference. For one, I don't care much about the size as long as it tastes good though it does make it easier to swallow if it's smaller. I'm still talking about wantan, btw. The noodles here were not shabby either, springy and taste good.
Verdict: This place indeed ideal for a casual meal for its reasonable price and portion. I wouldn’t mind returning to try out other variations.
Claypot Prawn Rice is one of the top sellers at this restaurant. Being a dish that is rare to find, they prepare this in a unique method so much so, even the base paste is different to the Chicken Rice. Be sure to thoroughly mixed it up before consuming. Otherwise, the paste would be unevenly distributed and you wouldn't be able to enjoy the dish. The shrimps used are quite large and they were fresh and juicy. The taste of the rice is so unique that you would not have tasted anything similar to this. A must try dish at this restaurant. May seem a little pricey but it's totally worth it. My rating for this shall be 10/10.
I just love the raw onions, giving Busy Corner's claypot chicken rice (RM6.50 for a small serving, RM12 for large) an added oomph! My fave order is the original (with or without the salted fish, depending on my mood); there're lots more variety to choose from - black pepper, red bean sauce and Thai. One can also choose to have black pepper steak rice or prawn instead of chicken.
This one called "Restoran Yu Yiee" is a corner lot just next to Petronas Petrol station. Other hawkers here are Chee Cheong Fun, Spicy Pan Mee, all-in maybe 10 of them but over few are open for business early in the morning.
I bought a slice of pineapple from another stall at MYR 1.5 nett and ate it together with the chicken meat and rice. Tasty
J had the chicken chop (RM8), which came with the same sides as mine. The fries were freshly fried and the pasta was lightly seasoned. I preferred her chicken chop to my fish & chips, as the latter tasted like the fillet-o-fish from McD. I never liked that burger.
Overall, we enjoy the seafood noodles here and like that we can customise our bowls with the various ingredients. We have returned to this restaurant a few times since our first visit, and every bowl has been consistently good. We have also ordered takeaway for our mom who enjoys the noodles a lot as well. Senior-approved!
Back here again and I’m clearly loving this place. Unpretentious good bowl of fish noodles. Ordered a fish cake, a bowl of fishballs an...
This shop has been in operation for more than 30 years and used to be called Kedai Makan Teow Chew. I guess after the son took over the business it was renamed to its current name. You can expect pretty much the same experience in any seafood noodle shop where you get to customize your bowl of noodles to include the seafood to your budget and liking.
Honestly, it was okaylah. It definitely is not the best I’ve tasted. Wei Ji still is my favorite. However, Choong Kee definitely is strategically located. If I had a craving and didn’t have much time to spare, this could be my temporary go-to??
Famous for their piping hot, delicious, and flavorful chicken rice.
Choong Kee Claypot Chicken Rice restaurant at Damansara Jaya is well-known to serve one of the best Kampar style Claypot Chicken Rice in Petaling Jaya.
Likes: Lou Shu Fun, Guinness wings Dislikes: Xo Noodles don't have XO in it, rude service, lady boss thinks she is always right, walks off when the issue had not been resolved. Did not attempt to serve a new one / remove from the bill / resolve the issue by offering XO. Felt cheated by this establishment.
Coincidentally, we were going to catch Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children at Tropicana GSC at night time, so this time round we dropped by XO Fish Noodle for some simple, quick Chinese food outside of the mall since we couldn’t decide what to eat even after a brief touring in the mall earlier per se, haha.
I really like the broth of the fish head noodles and definitely don’t mind to come back for more!
記得點上一客甜點火龙果香茅冻和杨枝甘露畫下完美的飲餐結局喔!

The fried prawns with salt and pepper is indeed addictive. Pluppy prawns complete with flavours and it is fresh. Love the texture of the prawns.
Likes: Some dishes are edible. eg. sour vegetables, minced pork and petai. Just choose the easy to fry dishes where you can get in most tai chow/chap fan places; those are totally safe choices. Don't try to be too adventurous... Dislikes: The rest of the food are all tai chow standards. Unauthentic Hakka food, use corn flour in practically almost every dish that requires gravy. Be prepared to be served by Hokkiens instead of Hakkas.
Overall, it was a perfect dinner for us. It is my first time trying out Hakka Cuisine and I have fallen in love with it. What I love about the food is that its clear, simple and flavourful. Any recommendation for any other Hakka Cuisine? Do let me know. I would love to drop by to try it. It is a nightmare to get a car parking in that area and double parking is common at night.
It feels like home when dining here. Good food. Reasonable pricing. I can’t wait to go back to try more dishes!
What do We Like about Q House, Damansara Jaya? -The many selection of foods and set meals -The additional effort to serve satisfying meal -The spicy mala soup base was quite good and we liked it
Nice Chinese meal.
Crispy Roasted Duck ooohhh...la...la.... I loved this. I am now a converted roast duck fan for many years now. Previously I only liked roasted chicken. How silly of me.
The place is fairly crowded, the food is nice.
If you can’t decide which particular seafood to order, go for their Thai-style Sour Steamed Seafood Platter. Their signature sour spicy sauce was perfectly balanced in all the taste factors and was excellent with all the fresh seafood mixed in it.
Fei Fei Crab has got so much more to offer on their menu. The restaurant serves comfort Chinese dishes with lots of crab dishes for crabbies like me. No frills, just solid Chinese comfort food for daily savoring. Prices are decent for the quality and portions. They have branches in Cheras, Puchong, Kepong and now Petaling Jaya, so head on over to your nearest location of Fei Fei Crab, Crab Generation of Crab Sifu!
同样是经典招牌菜的突破2012,2012指的是世界末日,所以这道菜长得像火山爆发,一份RM35 中间是带甜味的鸡肉块,旁边则是很香的炸排骨,一菜两吃,很划算!
What do We Like about Dao Damansara Jaya? -The texture of daofufah was the best we have tasted by far. The quality is indeed above standard as it is not stingy of the ingredients -The sundao softserve was so thick and creamy. Unlike usual ice cream which can be quite watery, a scoop of Dao’s softserve took longer time to melt in the mouth
s early as 7:30am, you can have your chicken rice here in this kopitiam for rm$5
Their Chicken Perattal however was good. Lot's of masala used and the chunks were meaty. I would rate their Chicken Perattal at 8/10
We enjoyed all the dishes in general and immensely enjoyed the Kam Heong Chicken, and I especially enjoyed the Ham Choi Soup as well. The Sweet and Sour Pork was pretty okay too, but since we couldn't get enough of the Kam Heong Chicken it was a little neglected.
Food was nice. I liked the fact that the noodles used here were the thin version. I like it better this way because to me, it allows me to enjoy the overall dish better. Simply a matter of preference, I suppose. I ordered the Large/Big option here and it came with a lot of noodles. The taste overall was nice. My only issue was the pork meat itself. For a large portion, the meat seemed rather little and most of it was thinly sliced. It was just enough to provide you with a taste. Perhaps with the Small option, the portion may seem good enough but with the large, it was little. Besides that, it was all good
Luckily enough, they get their signature dish right. The noodles were springy. The gravy didn't suffer from being too salty. This (and only this) would be worth a return.
Spare Ribs Rice Rice lover can go for their Spare Ribs Rice. Enjoy the chunks of meat together with the generous portion of rice here. Love the flavours of the dish itself. The Spare Ribs Rice is simply delicious and every mouthful is packed with flavours.
There are quite alot on the menu and it will take some time to go through all of them.
Likes: Nothing. Possibly just the cucumbers. Dislikes: Everything. Stop marketing themselves as Yunnan Xiao Guo / Guo Qiao when it looks and tastes nothing like it. I'm totally fine if this is "just another noodle house". But please don't insult my favourite Xiao Guo Mi Xian...
The chicken hor fun as usual only consists of chicken slices and some greens. The soup was very flavorful even though it looks plain.
What do We Like about Atria Rojak? -Thick rojak sauce with fresh fruits
I rather not comment on the Lap Mei Bao but I can say that I will not order it again. But since 怡林腊味 Yi Lin Lap Mei has a 70 year history being the 腊味老子号 (1948) in Ipoh, probably should give another try for its claypot rice with Lap Mei next time!
If you're like me and wondering if a shop that specializes in Chinese waxed meat would be able to survive in a mall by selling cooked version of their product, the answer is yes, it's possible. Against all odds, Yi Lin managed to stay in business and doing not bad.
