Famous Eunos Bak Chor Mee located at Eunos Crescent Market and Food Centre, 4A Eunos Crecent, located in Hong Lee Coffeeshop...
Famous Eunos Bak Chor Mee is in one of the Eunos MRT coffeeshops and was a nice quick bowl of comfortable noodles.
The noodles were springy and firm, tossed to al dente, but slippery - almost like slurping a bowl of Ramen in Japan!
The fillings were generous and stuffed to the brim. The deep-fried Tau Kwa smell was aromatic and the fillings included chopped fishcakes, braised eggs, fried yam and cucumber. The cucumber gave an excellent refreshing taste to the palettes, and the fried bits were a bit salty.
A good eating experience for sure. I have never had it before, so there is definitely a newness factor for me which I love because I love discovering new items to my palate!
When you are here, you must get their fish balls and tau kwa pau (of course).
The her kiao had a nice, thick, gelatinous and slightly sticky skin, with a nicely seasoned meat filling within. The fishballs and fish cakes were springy and juicy, and the soup was old school light and sweet.
Head to Chao Yang Fishball Noodle (潮阳手工鱼丸粿条面汤) early for their excellent fishball noodles. Must order their fish dumplings!
I would highly recommend trying the Her Kiao here.
Payment can be made via cash, FAVE and nets. Uncle also being nice and friendly even though he is alone coping with the operation all by himself. You can feel the positive vibes when you speak with him. We left the place with happy belly and happy mode.
The price is not cheap because the usual zi char eatery place priced at S$5.50onwards but I think it is worth trying it.
Their delicious rice dishes were a source of respite for me and also many NS boys after a long day out training in the field.
The hawker landscape is changing, especially with next-gen hawkers giving the scene a breath of fresh air.
The soup was of the Bedok Fengshan bak chor mee variety, light yet meaty and umami. The pork was fresh, although the dumplings were almost just skin, but tasty nonetheless.
Very reasonable hawker prices, delicious white chicken and a comforting bowl of porridge, I will be back.
Sadly, the uncle mentioned that he was getting on in years and it won’t be long before we might have to say goodbye to Rong Ji Chicken Rice so hurry down to have a taste of their yummy chicken porridge before it’s too late!
I feel that this chicken rice is still one of the best that I’ve tasted.
I did not actually like the chilli as the ginger taste was a little overpowering.
I will bring out “early-morning” me and make my way back here for sure!
you definitely have to make your way here early.
“Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper,” so the saying goes. Bonus points if your first meal of the day gets the royal treatment without having to pay a king’s ran…
Without a doubt, the price of food is reasonable here and the taste of fish is commendable. Making a return trip here for similar food can be foreseen.
fried egg bittergourd good, flavourful.
excellent salted fish minced prok, and good omelette and sambal potato leaves.
a simple yet satisfying dinner and great time with close friends.
