Checking out New Lucky Claypot Rice 新鸿运瓦煲饭which was listed in the Michelin guide. The chicken claypot rice was cooked to order, thus there was a long wait.
New Lucky Claypot Rice at Holland Village serves a mean claypot, but avoid the soups.
The dining frenzy passed quickly and everything quietened down around 8pm when the wave of customers finished their dinner.
Margaret Drive Sin Kee Chicken Rice, one of the top chicken rice stalls from the Hawkers.
The rice was I thought the gold standard of chicken rice – moist, oily, flavourful and fragrant with chicken stock and oil, garlic, onions and lemongrass etc.
Sin Kee is a well-known name among chicken rice stalls in Singapore, mainly serving poached chicken rice Cantonese-style.
Monki 台灣小吃部 was previously at Holland Village and they have relocated to The Star Vista. Perhaps due to the restrictions in travelling, the urge and the constant search for Taiwanese Food seem unstoppable.
Very complex, tasty, moist and generous braised meat, with a strong sweet flavour. 肥瘦参半的肉燥. Nice bowl.
While this place serves up a mean plate of lu rou fan, its portion would have me think twice about coming back for it. That being said, the snowflake desserts are worth trying.
There was something else that seemed missing. Can't put a finger to what that might have been but I think I like the fishball noodles better.
Fishballs were nice as well.
Over at Ru Ji Kitchen Holland Drive, take note there are two long lines – the one on the left sells Fishball Noodles, the other Bak Chor Mee.
The ten person queue moved really quite leisurely; I got my food only after thirty minutes. The kway was really soft, silky and smooth, coming in a nice sweet savoury braising stock.
Braised Duck & Kway Chap in Holland Drive Market and Food Center is definitely worth the queue. I consider this as the best I had over the years.
Their braised duck is tender and richly-flavoured. If you come towards the latter part of the day, it is possible for the duck to run out.
had a great dinner wonderful evening at home during covid circuit breaker.
That's deep fried fish skin with salted egg paste. Most places never screw this up.
har gao here was good as always….Singapore dimsum standard quite good nowadays…
Thick herbal taste. Deep and complex. Flavourful. Tender meat. Nice.
Though I am not a fan of Malaysia-style bak kut teh for its strong herbal taste, the version here is more balanced which will suit the local's palate.
Kota Zheng Zong seeks to bring the authentic take into Singapore, albeit at a slightly high price point.
Cool, this ban mian hawker stall had a pasta machine in it (7 Maxwell Road #02-109). I went for the mee hoon kueh at the top of the menu, and the chewy dough was enjoyable.
Go support and try her ban mian if you happen to be in this food centre.
She is a true inspiration, and said that she is honoured to be able to share her story with the public to encourage those who are currently struggling in life.
The Glutinous Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaf with Tiger Prawns and Scallops is one of the highlights in the set meal.
Full of Luck Restaurant at Holland Village, known for its modern touch for classic Cantonese fare has launched a new menu to tantalise the taste buds of its diners.
That's the osmanthus raindrop cake. Not so much a cake than a globule of jelly with kuromitsu and kinako.
It’s my favourite kway chap. They clean the intestines well
It's always a satisfying lunch of roast meats at Leong Wei Roasted Delight 良伟腊味饭 at a reasonable price.
only thing is cheap S$2.70 but cheap & not good 😂
These were some tasty noodles, slick with oil, pork lard and savoury sauce, and soft with bite. The minced meat was similarly well flavoured and the fried stuffed goods or yong tau foo tasty and crispy. The stuffed goods in soup was nicely savoury and bouncy, but a bit less impressive.
The total bill was $64.00. We were left feeling satisfied and will likely come back again.
Overall, I enjoyed the meal very much and look forward to telling my friends and family about this coconut soup steamboat - healthy and tasty totally.
not my kind of place when there are many other options cheaper, bigger serving and equal or better tasting.
Seoi Gor Cafe 水哥冰室 could do with some marketing (sorry guys) and expansion of its menu. Its interior and food was not that bad, and I think diners in the vicinity won’t mind another breakfast and supper place.
