For my family of five, we usually opt for the value-for-money set option at RM 39.80 for two pax by having 2 sets of it which is good sharing portion for 5 of us. The set comes with prawns, meatballs, fish balls, fish fillets, tofu, vegetables, dumplings, a variety of bean curd products, eggs and noodles.
The thinly sliced Pork Belly (RM18.80), Meat Ball with Minced Pork (RM6) and QQ Tofu (RM6) are great additions. No matter what's in your pot, be sure to lay on the potent homemade chili sauce! Avg price per person: RM35
I ate my prawn mee Hoon mix with yellow noodles. The livers are from the pork Mee Hoon. I requested for just a bit of broth to be put together with the noodles so it was like a dry version of prawn noodles. Very tasty, I like it. Will definitely buy again this way.
One day, I decided to have economy fried noodles for breakfast. The noodles are not fried on order but are already fried in bulk and sold as is. As this fried noodle is sold by Kim Hung Nasi Lemak stall at Swee Hing coffee shop, I added one whole hard boiled egg, some curry potatoes and some acar (pickled vegetables). This whole dish costs MYR 6 nett. I kept half of everything for lunch and had a satisfying breakfast.
Nasi Lemak (Coconut milk rice) bought from a stall in Swee Hing coffee shop, Sri Petaling with acar (pickled vegetables) and curry chicken - at about MYR7.
Restaurant Ye Look is my regular restaurant in Sri Petaling because the prices are reasonably cheap compared to other restaurants, especially in areas such as Petaling Jaya and Puchong. In Restaurant Ye Look, food is now served quite fast and the staff are friendly.
We've been coming to Restoran Ye Look in Sri Petaling quite often. The reasonably priced food, quick service and awesome taste keeps bringing us back. I was back in KL specially for an early Father's Day. My parents and I headed over here and arrived at 630pm. It was just in time before the crowds…
I have always known that Harbour Steamboat is one of the best steamboat restaurants in KL. But it’s only recently that we finally managed to eat here. Believe it or not, our prior two prior visits back in 2013 and 2015 resulted in us walking away because the restaurant was full house. The waiting line was so long that it filled the entire five foot way. So if you plan to eat here, reservation is recommended especially if it’s a weekend. Either that, or come as early as possible.
Overall, we spent RM110+ for the dinner and 3 of us were almost BOOM!! Really Full very full! Highly recommended people! Give a try!
both the 鸡窝包 "Gai Wo Bao" and 排骨 "Pai Guat" were nice.
Clan Restaurant is famous on their signature bun and the place always crowded during weekend morning. You will see family with 3-4 generation is gather a table to eat dim sum. This is our Chinese culture. If you wish to come here for their dim sum, you have to come early before 10am. Otherwise, you have to wait for a table some time. Yes I experience it during my first visit.
Our Malaysian friends living in Scotland were back for their Easter break.. for our meet-up, I suggested chilli pan mee for lunch! We took them to Super Kitchen Chilli Pan Mee, one of our favorites..
I have been wanting to write about this Chilly Pan Mee story for the longest time in my blog. You see, the first time I heard about the chilly Pan Mee was from my youngest daughter who is a great fan of it. Clarrisha used to study in IMU, International Medical University in Bukit Jalil, so she and her batch mates would travel to this shop, Restoran Super Kitchen at Sri Petaling to satisfy their craving for the super spicy chilly Pan Mee from time to time. It's their favourite hideout for comfort food, especially after some stressful exam. Here goes my tasting experience of the Chilly Pan Mee; paying tribute to my daughter's all-time top favourite comfort food to eat! 😍😍😍
Still, it was a fun experience and the place is generally quite cozy.
For spicy food lovers, here’s a good place for you to rejoice! "Ma La Xiang Guo" is a heavily spiced dish that I couldn’t get enough. Get ready to get addicted to the numbness from the Sichuan peppercorns.
Signature Mee Pok (MYR 8.50 nett). The mee pok is tossed in lard oil and there are many pieces of deep fried lard on top of the noodles.
Back in April this year (2016), I thought that it would be a very, very long time before we eat at House of Fishball, Sri Petaling again but I was wrong. On early morning, we had some errands to run nearby so we ate at this eatery again as it was the closest eatery around that was opened at that time.
Check out this one. I like their Prawn Mee and Kampung Chicken Rice.
Overall, we loved the food at The Vee by Teochew Kitchen, the Private Dining Sri Petaling. We never knew Teochew food is so flavourful and interesting. On top of that, their food prices are reasonable and affordable despite being a private dining restaurant. To be honest, we are planning to revisit this restaurant again in the future to check out some of the food that we missed. The Vee by Teochew Kitchen Private Dining is definitely the hidden gem of Sri Petaling.
Just when you thought dining here would drain your wallet empty, they are introducing SUPER LUNCH SETS with prices starting from as low as RM58 nett! WHAT! Their set lunch is everything you could ever ask for in an everyday rush hour lunch. They've got your protein, vegetables, and carbohydrate covered and it even comes with a soup of the day too! We opted for the RM88 nett set (worth RM143) which could potentially feed 6-7 pax and it comes with 4 dishes and 1 soup!
Baked Cheese Chicken Rice, 14.99 ringgit This dish was da bomb! It was cheesy, buttery, flavorful with plenty of cheese on the top, with chicken and rice. I loved every bit of it. I also liked that at the bottom of the bowl, there is the burned rice. I was happily scrapping it all up. There is a certain appeal to it – the crispy, slightly charred texture, when mixed with the other items – da bomb, yaww.
The noodles are Mi Xian noodles but they are not like the usual Mi Xian because they are springy like glass noodles so for those who like springy rice noodles like my friend, this is the place to eat at.
Ordered a plate of vege because there are no vegetables in the claypot of bak kut teh. This broth is sweet, taste is similar to soup boiled with longan and meat. There is no dong guai herb taste so this Bak Kut Teh broth is a light one.
Duck meat kway teow at MYR 9.50 nett and iced Cham at MYR 3.50 nett. Taste decent but portion is on the small side.
Best dish of all ... Salted Egg Crab!! This is definitely a must try. You will so regret if you don't try this dish!!
I was surprised to see this Yi Poh restaurant from Seremban that I have bought takeaways before, having a branch in Sri Petaling occupying the shop lot vacated by SRK Noodle House (which has moved a few shop lots away in the same row - I was told - need to verify this later) so we went there to try out the noodle.
Hotpot Spicy Drumstick (RM 18 (S)/ RM 33 (L)) The Hotpot Spicy Drumstick is something to look forward where you can have the umph of the spiciness. The drumstick remains its juiciness. We choose for the spicy version for the Drumstick which give us a better kick and umph!
My tonkotsu soup base was the bomb – C and I ended up finishing almost all of the soup. It was savoury, rich and lipsmacking-ly good! Her Taiwanese Spicy wasn’t bad either, but I think it’s more suitable for those who like that Sichuan mala /chilli oil taste
