We are surprise by the great quality of main dishes served, initially we thought that Macallum Connoisseurs is by far serving a great cup of coffee but we are extremely wrong. We order burger which are so nice in flavor and the portion is big as well.

This is yet the best White Curry Noodle I have had in Penang, noodle was perfectly cooked with tasty soup "white color" (optional addition of extra chili), the bowl comes with Sotong slices, Fresh cockels as well as QQ Duck blood (instead of Pork blood). Another dish, the 白斩鸡 Deboned Boiled Chicken with Soy Sauce is definitely a must try, one of the best 滑鸡 I have ever tried.

我超爱辣椒酱带出来香料美味，可是这次我下手太重，放了3汤匙辣椒酱，结果辣到自己。本来放2汤匙的时候，我们两人觉得不够辣，再多一汤匙下去就过多了，辣椒酱上的香料很多，所以吃的时候可以感受到香料香味扑鼻，只要不要太过辣，你就会享受到白咖喱面的美味。这是有别于一般“咖喱面”的吃法白咖喱面。如果你爱上辣椒酱的话，你也可以买一罐回去。

Hola! The transformation is done and there comes a reddish colour of curry mee. It emits a strong essence of curry taste and a pleasant aroma, with the spiciness level can be adjusted depending on the amount of chilli paste you have added. Beware though as too much of the chilli paste may cause choking as it is real spciy! That is why they named it Hot Bowl!

Priced at RM 7, the Vinegar Lor Mee is not something we see everyday. The serving bowl looks plain and dull with only yellow noodles, but rest assured rest of the ingredients are beneath the noodle. Unlike the conventional starchy soup, the soup here is more liquid and black in colour, then possessing an unique flavour arising from the vinegar. Add on a few droplets of black vinegar provided to give it a stronger scent depending on your personal preference.

Soup is an indulgence I enjoyed since I was young as the dining table is always laid with a pot of nourishing soup besides other dishes. When dining out just for soup, I normally would get my fix at the stall in Hwa Lam Coffeeshop on Carnarvon Street, Penang. The stall of the Leong family selling Cantonese-style herbal soups has been around for quite a while now.

The 蛋挞 "Egg Tart" is the signature dish here, not the usual round shape but instead oval shaped and not too sweet, nice! The 猪肉肠粉 "Rice Noodle" also surprisingly different, with I believe comes with pork filling.

Our breakfast reached. This is Kaya Butter Toast Very crunchy and delicious. I read somewhere they make their own Kaya. We also ordered 2 half boiled eggs for each of us. They are served in this cute cup instead of a bowl. Fresh and perfectly half boiled. Awesome taste when we dip the bread into the egg.

Kong Thai Lai uses its own home-made Kaya (Pandan scented Coconut Jam) on their Toast, together with a generous spread of Butter, the marriage between the two components was absolutely lovely; best washed down with a cup of Haianese Black Coffee and to go with some fresh Soft Boiled Eggs. Easy on the pocket, delicious in the mouth and filling in the tummy.

Spring rolls with BBQ prawn was my favourite but be warned, this is chock full of fresh green herbs and veggies. If you can't stand the taste of leafy herbs, you might want to give this a miss. I've read comments that the rice wrapper was a little on the tough side but I really enjoyed it when dipped into the very spicy chilli sauce. The wait staff told me that they use Vietnamese chillis for their sauces which can be spicier than the local ones.

The bill came in Rm 19.60 including a pot of Chinese Tea for one. I was there very early on a fine morning, unfortunately, some of the Dim Sum dishes were not being heated up yet. Most items were standard-average though nothing disappoints me. I was particularly overwhelmed by Lou Po Peng, a traditional Cantonese delicacy not quite commonly seen in Penang. It has a flaky skin with soft sweetened Winter Melon filling; the addition of Pumpkin Seeds adds another layer of crunch and texture to the sweet, light snack. Equally delicious was their fresh out of oven Egg Tarts- buttery-flaky pastry with sweet and eggy custard filling.

It is a nasi lemak stall operated by Chinese located at Xen Teck Cafe along Weld Quay. You can select different dishes to complement the fragrant coconut rice (white rice is available too), but the fried chicken and their unique sambal is a must have! Do not underestimate the bit of seemingly not lethal. It is burning hot, yet a bit of it will spice up the flavour of the nasi lemak.
