The are reasons this place is famous: fast, affordable, simple, tasty, accessible (location and hours wise).
The price is on a steeper side considering it costs almost a dollar SGD but its still worth a try if you are in the area.
Both drink (Royal Milk Tea (M) and The Alley Milk Tea (M) tastes delicious. It tastes something different compare to the normal milk tea, you can get in KL. For me, it has a lovely hint of Jasmine Tea flavour that give a good taste to the drink. Royal Milk Tea (M) @ RM 7.50 (Add Tapioca RM 1) and The Alley Milk Tea (M) @ RM 8.40
Best Bubble Tea in Ipoh , Perak!!
The tau huay was still a bit softer and silkier than that from Fujiwara, but a bit powdery. This for the taste and texture, Fujiwara for the ambience.
It is really an old school way of eating. If Ipoh is too far for you, you can check them out in their stall located in Maxwell Food Centre in Singapore.
place abit small, but for take away is no problem.
So, we had the cendol biasa (RM1.60) - nevertheless, it was still delicious. I found the coconut milk here to be slightly thicker, richer and the cendol strands are slightly salted, so it was a nice balance with the gula melaka syrup.
The chewy texture from the cendol itself, with the grainy texture from the red bean, an addition of sticky glutinous rice for a salty touch, accompanied by the sweet and chilly coconut water are perfect. Be sure to try them earlier as their pulut selling fast.
tapi tang rasa.... awok memang bagi harapan tinggi kat Cendol dengan Pasembor kat sini.... tapi awok hampa.... awok rasa agak kureng.... tapi masih lagi dalam kategori sedap.....
We went for the Cendol pulut (RM2 per bowl), which came with pulut which has been slightly toasted / roasted. The portion here is slightly larger than the other place, and the pulut does lend a nice salty contrast to the sweet cendol as well as adding some texture.
pendapat peribadi aku... aku rasa cendol dia biasa je... macam kita makan cendol tempat lain jugak... aku pernah rasa ada cendol yang lebih sedap dari sini kot... lepas tu aku rasa cendol dia macam manis sangat la...huhu.. sebab aku ni jenis tak kuat manis sangat...
Orait. Rasa ori. Takda campur adok apa-apa. Tak kilat, tak berlemak macam yang Penang Road. Ramai tak suka tapi dia ni ada keistimewaanya sendiri. Bandingan macam Durian Blackthorn dengan Durian Kampung. Old school. Teringat zaman sekolah dulu.
The Tau Foo Far (Soya Bean Curd) was curdled to perfection. It was smooth and very soft and silky almost delicate.
The beancurd texture is soft, smooth and very silky that melts directly once lingering around the tongue, apart from that, the ginger syrup also goes superbly well with beancurd and also helps to intensify the aroma of soybean – Overall the experience was excellent and finally makes sense (after trying on our own) for Ipoh Tau Fu Fa able to reign across Malaysia.
Our verdict? I absolutely loved the tau fu fah - it was silky smooth and very soft and I especially enjoyed the fragrant ginger syrup. The soya bean drink was also very good - it tasted extra creamy and was not too sweet.
So yes, I'd totally recommend this place. No wonder everyone loves it here.
Patisserie Boutique is a fresh entry on the row that now contains what looks like the highest concentration of hipster cafĂŠs in Ipoh's Old Town; it tries to bring a ...
Affordable and nice Cendol with red bean and jagung (RM 4.50). Sit at street corridor only, it is a stall, not a shop.
A decent place and reasonably priced, Deen CT does give you a satisfying bowl to help you muster on some strength for the hot days.
Tasty Dessert! My friends ate this delicious tofufa with red bean, grass jelly, special sweet potatoes balls toppings in Ipoh
Here comes our first bowl of Sansui Ta Fu Fa RM1.60 which features plain tau fu fa drizzled with lots of gula Melaka sauce (palm sugar). It has a very soft and silky texture, mild soya bean flavor, great enough to serve as an everyday treat (cost per bowl as dessert), but frankly, it doesn’t give us as much first impact as the Tau Fu Fa which we had in Woong Kee.
While you are here, don’t miss their ABC as well. I thought it was wonderful and nicely done, one of the best I have came across so far. And mind you, I have high standards when it comes to ABC.
Here's the location.
During my last visit to Ipoh I was introduced to a popular local bakery called JJ Roll that specializes in Swiss Rolls and custom order cakes. Looking at the premise they are occupying currently, you wouldn’t have guessed that JJ Roll had a humble beginning as a small kiosk.
The tau huay was very soft and silky, set in a pandan syrup which was gentle and fragrant. Really nice tau huay, in an atmospheric cafe.
We did not get to try other food / snacks from their menu as we were rather full after lunch. As an overall, I will say that their Tau Fu Fa is still worth a try.
Overall, the frozen yogurt is quite nice, I didn't really like the original flavor of the frozen yoghurt but the other banana flavor is really nice though.
Overall, its not bad at all.
Overall, I like how they present their desserts but taste wise, not up to par.
Not many people might know of this stall, but according to the locals here, you must try their fah shang woo! Hong Kee Mah Chee Stall. It's a small stall located ...
Overall, price is too much for what we had.
