As the guest chef responsible for the Japanese-Australian Epicurean Affair menu for the hotel’s #DinewithChef series (24 August to 3 September), Fong then proceeded to guide Harris on the sushi-making masterclass.
Thirty8 is famous for its incredible view, overseeing the city skyline of Kuala Lumpur and The twin towers, while sipping on your tea, hanging out with your friends or family, and have some dessert.
Overall, THIRTY8 offers one of the best views of the KL cityscape. However, we found the food to be hit-or-miss. In summary – come for the view, but temper your expectations for the food.
Help yourself with their deliciously packed of goodness Botanica Laksa. This is one of my favorite, for sure! One can enjoy the awesome kick of spiciness with the aromatic blend of chili. The Laksa broth is cooked with flower crabs, seafood, laksa pesto & special chilli paste and then it is topped with the tiger prawn, poached chicken, julienned fish cake, silver sprouts & quail egg. Such a slurpilicious dish to have.
Botanica + Co,已经帮衬N次,依然真心地觉得值得推荐,几乎可以讲话价廉物美,超级无敌赞
♥Verdict: Overall, my dining experience at this much loved garden-inspired restaurant was not impressive. The Instragram-worthy interior was unquestionably scored high marks, service was okay despite the large crowd but the food did not meet my expectation (in terms of taste, portion and price).
My personal favourite was the Tuaran Grilled Calamari (RM35.80), super flavorful stir fried Tuaran noodles topped with freshly grilled Sabah squid. Hearty, wholesome goodness!
Reasons to visit The Blockbunsters: A slightly quirky vibe with a good gin list at a reasonable price. Burgers of different shapes, sizes and flavours. Remember, being Knowhere is somewhere.
My favourite was the Priyanka Claw-pra, with delicious varuval crab patty on a bed of arugula and curry aioli.
Boston Lobster and abalones make the best pairing, especially when they are braised in a thick umami sauce. It’s a great dish to make good impressions and we love the impression it made on our happy tummies!

Modern Malaysian restaurant Beta delights with a new menu inspired by the country’s rich cuisine and terroir.
Reasons to try the Tour of Malaysia menu at Beta KL: an exceptional and exciting dining experience celebrating wonderful local ingredients; expert technique and preparation; I recommend going the whole hog; loved the fish main, and if you are an adventurous cocktail drinker, sign up for that pairing too.
Make a date for a romantic dinner on the 25th or 26th August at FUZE@SkyBar in Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The Qixi 5-course set menu dinner is priced at RM188 nett per person
Reasons to visit Fuze@SkyBar: the views!; extensive wine list; try a refreshing frozen cocktail or ice block dipped in prosecco; al fresco dining adds a layer of safety for the post-pandemic cautious.
Reasons to visit SkyBar KL: incredible, uninterrupted views of the city centre; a fantastic location to watch the fireworks for the many and varied Malaysian holidays throughout the year; a great choice for New Years’ Eve.
The experience at Mighty Monster was good enough but ultimately forgettable. However, this is one of the few places to get western food at MyTOWN Shopping Centre. MyTOWN is overwhelmingly Asian restaurants and cafes, and I’m just not feeling that kind of food often. The menu at Mighty Monster has enough tempting dishes that we would consider eating here again.
Overall cook noodles and sadly 3 slices of duck meat for real? Im paying RM 26 and I get 3 slices of duck breast meat which not even half of a full size duck breast meat.
Mighty Duck Ramen (RM 28) A hot bowl of ramen comes next where the sous-vide duck breast in peking marinate, 63 degree Celcious egg, goba roots, crispy Chinese broccoli and freshly made Japanese noodles in a miso based broth topped with the wakame salad.
High class Pakistan food, we probably ordered too much. Food is nice, but i wasn't impressed by anything in particular. Maybe too expensive while the food is not good enough for the price point.
Overall verdict: Food is not bad. It is my first time having Sri Lankan food so I don’t have a comparable review to make. I think the flavours are very similar to Indian food. So if you like briyani rice and chicken curry, you’d probably enjoy this.
My recent visit to Aliyaa is a satisfying experience exploring flavours from the region, and the best part is that we get to save a lot on this meal by enjoying the Buy 1 FREE 1 Main Course deal via The ENTERTAINER App! In conjunction to its 10th anniversary, Aliyaa Island Restaurant will be hosting a Jaffna Food Festival, a showcase of over 50 dishes from the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. A special guest chef will be joining the team to create authentic Jaffna cuisine throughout the 4-day period. Whereas the restaurant will also transform into a ‘Little Jaffna’ throughout the festival with traditional decorations that will take you on a ‘Journey to Yalpanam’. This buffet-style celebration will be available for Lunch and Dinner, with the first session open on the evening of October 30th until November 2nd. It is RM148++ per pax inclusive of a traditional welcome drink.
The EATme promotion is available every Friday and Saturday from 8.30pm onwards at Traders Club Lounge. The 4-course menu is priced at RM460 nett per couple, inclusive of two glasses of Prosecco.
Reasons to visit Gobo Upstairs: fab views; fresh salads; great grilled meats.
My boy, who is a big scallop fan, loved the seared scallops (he had two!) - plump and juicy, served with butter corn miso foam with bottarga and the crispiest spinach tempura. So delicious! The scallops were sweet tasting and fresh, making them perfect for a carpaccio dish. The thinly sliced raw scallops were topped with orange segments, wild rocket and yuzu dressing.
Reasons to visit Manja KL: attractive setting; prettily plated recipes; unique flavour combinations and creatively composed recipes.
Ten Cha Fish with Lobster Butter Soba (market price) – grilled seasonal catch in ginger palm marination, with ten cha green tea glaze. By the side is a bundle of organic soba cooked in house-made lobster butter with juicy morsels of river lobster meat, topped with sturgeon caviar!
Here at Manja, our commitment to flavour and good food is reflected in our unique menu.
Reasons to embark on the Caribbean Food Cruise at Joloko: a chance to “travel” at least by setting sail on your tastebuds; fun, fun, fun team and setting; a culinary adventure; excellent cocktails and wine list.
I hadn’t been to a Caribbean restaurant for more than two years, and we definitely want to come back here. It is expensive, but the atmosphere and the food were really worth it. Highly recommended.
The sandwiches were delicious. You can choose your spice level – mild, normal or spicy. I opted for spicy. Part of it was the heat and the other part was pure spices, a burst of flavors. The sandwich filling was generous. The grilled pork was tender and juicy. Biting into it was divine. There was spinach, purple cabbage, purple radish, onions …. it was yummy!
It is the first cosy & elegant restaurant in Cheras serving fine Western cuisine along with good selection of premium wines.
走時尚簡約風的cincin,底層是時尚的用餐環境;樓上的裝潢則走工業風格,昏暗的燈光,加上高格調擺設,營造出奢華且不失典雅的氛圍。
Open since May 2017 with 2 spacious floors at the premises, each level is thematically designed with motley of aesthetic elements. The ground floor which caters for later lunch diners; mainly for beer and casual dining, starts operating from 3pm to 2am daily whereas the upper floor greets its wine dining customer’s every day from 5pm up to 2am throughout the week.
The food at Botanica & Co is expensive for the portion size, but both of our orders were delicious. The restaurant was packed, so our food came out slowly, but the service was still warm and vigilant. It didn’t take much effort to get someone’s attention, and I was impressed that they noticed our empty water glasses before I had to signal someone for a refill. The only thing stopping us from returning to Botanica & Co is that we don’t have any reason to be back in this area.
[Halal, vegan options] Bo+Co offers some great vegan and meat-free options.
Prawn & Kale Pesto Pasta, 39 ringgit. The Pesto Pasta was utterly delicious. I was half in love with it just by looking at it. There were 2 huge prawns – the large kind that you’d be able to cut into 5,6 small pieces each. Yup, those giant prawns. The pasta texture was thick with kale pesto dressing , yet oily from the olive oil perhaps? A good combination. There was almond bits for garnish, plenty of tomatoes, mushrooms and surprisingly couliflower. I havent come across many pastas served with couliflower but I liked, it was a good addition, added some crunch to an otherwise ‘soft and slimy’ dish. This cost me almost 40 ringgit but it was real good, so I guess it was worth it.
Aglio -Olio Pork Belly (RM 33) Divinely delicious and double thumbs up! The Aglio Olio which is served together with the crackling delicious pork belly is a must to have here. The aglio olio is perfectly cooked till al-dente with complete flavours and aromatic hint.
In conjunction with Parents Day, Brotzeit offers you with their signature platter. Say thanks to your mum and dad the whole month of May and June and indulge with their signature dish all in one. Indulge in their signature pork knuckle, a loaded schnitzel, nürnberger & spicy chicken sausages, along with sides of garden veggies, fries & mashed potatoes. It is only priced at RM 195 nett per set.
There is also a Dinner Specials menu, which is available daily from 6pm. We had the pork fillets on rosti (RM33), which comes with a delicious black peppercorn cream sauce. The rosti (Swiss shredded potato) is thin and crispy, topped with bacon.
Tiki Taka, located in the housing neighborhood of Medan Damansara, has been serving lots of scrumptious East meets West inspired tapas bites. Coupled with their full bar service, it is one of the better place to hang out in that area for good food and drinks. This round, the new menu is bolder and definitely better. Filled with lots of porky fare, there’s plenty of small bites as well as mains and a sweet ending. We visited once evening for a sneak peek and was pretty stoke about the luscious menu coupled with a few giggle juices.
Used to be new kid on the block and since then have gains many of regular over months and with some recommendations and request from their customer, Tiki Taka had just launch their New Menu and along with some of their Old signature menu is still on the menu.
The favourites are still there, Nutella Bacon, Pork Satay, Singapore Chilli Prawns, and yes of course Salted Egg Crab Bun, you’ll never be at risk of the new Pintxos, Tapas & Mains that has become their signature dish and now you will have a whole new selection of sublime taste sensations vying for your attention! Papa C said they have the best Connor’s as Tiki Taka has one of the best pour. It pours black with a thick, creamy beige head. Love the smoothness.
Lamb Slider If burger is too big for you, this juicy lamb patties sliders are sure to keep you just right. Another simple yet delicious dish.
Next, we had the Crispy Black Pepper Chicken Wrap and this was one of my favourite dish on that evening. It has crispy chicken strips, mixed salad, tomato, cucumber, black pepper & sliced cheese and comes with a side of fries and a small salad. The chicken strip was pretty generous and it was delicious.
Good eats, fresh beats, great company- are what you can expect when patroning The X whether for a pleasant dining, casual hangout or a special occasion celebrated with buddies alike. Set forth with a chic interior with warm lighting, this hideout is chill enough for epicurean to sit down and relax over a toothsome feast with booze available on the menu as well. After all, just a few tipples won’t harm right? (=
Asian Laksa Pasta RM27.90 As this place portrays themselves as an Asian fusion restaurant, I thought it was only appropriate if I tried out one of their Asian inspired dishes. Well, to be honest, I thoroughly enjoyed the sour and spicy flavours of the dish, blame it on my Asian palate. The pasta was cooked to the perfect al dente, and the sauce was tangy and creamy at the same time. It's like your usual Asian dish, but with an added creaminess to it, which to be honest, really complemented each other really well.
Favourite of the night is this Smoked duck breast @ RM 39.90++ Served with creamy potato mash, cherry tomato, sauté seasonal veg & red wine reduction. If some of you does not like slightly strong duck taste, then you might not really enjoy it. It is cook to perfection, soft and slightly pink on the meat. Eat along with the mash is a perfect combination.
Lucky Peaches Eating Hall & Bar offers three special menu; Festival Weekly Specials or Xmas or New Year's Eve 5 course SET Menu from RM118++ per pax, starting 12th December till New Year's Eve
This is a pork place, specializing in Pork Roulade. The highlight would be All-Time Curry Ramen (RM 22.80) with tasty broth mixed with pork lard and minced meat, good enough noodles and half a..
Verdict: Hits and misses but overall it was a really tummy-satisfying meal as the portion was really huge for the price charged. Service was friendly and attentive, environment was good but the parking can be quite a problem at this area.
Best Haus’ Pork Ribs, 36.80 ringgit. The pork ribs was da bomb! Not much effort was needed to separate the meat from the bones because it literally falls of it with ease. It was sweet, succulent, tender, chewy all in one. It tasted awesome, real good that the plate was empty within minutes. I only wish that they gave me a bigger pieces because it was not nearly enough, lol. Moreeeee, I need moreeeeee! The salad on the side was refreshing. Plenty of green, tomatoes and a fruit – I cant remember what it is referred as but I do not come across many eateries that serves their greens with this particular fruit – it however works, it provided that ‘kick’, a lil sweet and a lil bitterness to it.
Food is pretty good, but pretty expensive as well (average RM 50 per dish)
Lamb Fried Rice with Curried Marrow Bones, 36 ringgit. Ooooooo Yessssss ! Still as delicious, mouth wateringly delicious. It still gets my tongue wagging. You’d get a plate of flavorful, spiced Basmati rice with cashews, fried garlic and onions, generous portions of chewy mini pieces of lamb meat scattered all over with papadoms and gravy filled bone marrow and some yogurt + shallots on the side. This is sooo worth giving a go. Each spoonful of this fried rice was soooo yummy, I just couldnt stop. I ate and ate and literally left the place squeky clean, spotless. It was everything I ever wanted when I am imagining kambing fried rice. Certainly coming back for more.
Reasons to visit: comfort food in a casual setting; friendly service; fabulous platters such as the Dips & Spreads are perfect for sharing over a few drinks with friends; Norwegian Salmon with Honey Lemon Soy; Lamb Fried Rice with Curried Marrow Bones.
Gin Rik Sha has definitely redefined Indian cuisine with their modern interpretation.
总的来说,Gin Rik Sha确实是一家不错的印度餐厅。
Verdict: To be honest, Indian cuisine most probably one of my least favourite food but I left gin rik sha feeling satiated the food we had was good enough to contemplate returning to check out the remainder of the menu.
