Carbonara Smoked Duck – RM28, Smoked Duck Slices, Carbonara Cream, Egg Yolk, Speghetti Parmesan Cheese & Fresh Egg Yolk, Cracked a la minute. Even though this dish is not the signature here, yet the taste of this dish was simply delicious. The fresh eggs yolk made the pasta creamy when mixed together. On the other hand, the taste of the smock duck slices were tender and packed with aroma.
Nevertheless, we are sold and would come back again for their croissant, and to try its other offerings.

The Pain Au Chocolat is one of the must-haves... the pastry will be heated up before serving to your table. It was extremely flaky and easily fall apart at the nudge of the teeth... buttery and crisp.... the combo makes it dangerously addictive. The Chocolate filling was just spot on... not too sweet but good enough to impart a chocolaty touch
This place served fine dinning with varieties of good wine. For those that would like to enjoy afternoon tea, there is a section for that too. The Ambience is cozy and elegant. The taste of food here touches all the taste buds sensation. The only word to describe is ‘Devine’.

The squid ink pasta and squid ink rice is actually quite disgusting me at the first place, as I could not imagine chewing this black black in my mouth. So, I have ordered soupy pasta - Lobster Bisque Pasta and my partner ordered the "Riz Noir" Squid Ink Rice.

The Baking Garage (at Lembah Permai) is not new, in fact, we have been wondering if they would move their business operations nearer to central Georgetown... and we are glad they did! Not only running as a bakery, the new branch at New World Park (known as Sin Seh Kai Artisan Bakery) actually offers a seemingly impressive brunch menu. The kitchen closes at 2:30 pm and by then, only light snacks shall be served (no heavy menu), so plan your time accordingly. It's easy to find Sin Seh Kai, the place is covered in transparent glasses with an open-kitchen, while the other side of the cafe is dedicated for diners dining-in the cafe. The setup is simple and straight-forward but the real pull factor is the wide range of home-made Pastries and artisan bread.
The Baking Garage in Lebuh Lembah Permai, Penang is a favourite place for shoppers who live nearby to pick up freshly baked items. Specializing in producing and supplying traditional, artistic & rustic artisanal breads, the outlet has plenty of goodness to offer. They recently opened their second location in New World Park on Burma Road. Known as Sin Seh Kai Artisan Bakery, the outlet with minimal frills is easy to find with its black signboard adorned with huge gold colored wordings.

For Pasta, it is always safe to have Creamy Carbonara. Le Brunch's was spot on with its creaminess and a bold Egg-aroma. The sauce was a little watery towards the end but the flavor was not affected. A pretty substantial portion and for that price tag, it is a value for money order.
On the mains, we had both Pan Seared Norwegian Salmon and Australian Grain Fed Beef Tenderloin; the former one was safe choice with pretty simple and straight-forward flavors, the latter option on the other hand, was beyond amazing. It probably outshined the Salmon, the Tenderloin was melt-in-the-mouth tender. The red meat was carefully cooked to the right doneness with spot-on seasoning and a burst of delightful meat juice. This is definitely one of the best Beef around.

On the visit, we were surprised with the serving of Orange Souffle. Not many cafes make souffle and almost none have the souffle flambee with liqueur on the spot. Passionis does and they do it with Grand Mariner – an orange cognac liqueur.
Patois Kafe & Bistro has got to be the most curious restaurant in Penang ever, the place is usually closed and only opens during certain hours. We have made multiple attempts to visit the place but to no avail. Dining in Patois is quite an experience, the menu is small but the service is amiable. We were warmly greeted by a charming-motherly lady; she was concerned if we knew what to order (since it was our first visit), if we were comfortably seated and if the air-conditioner was blowing at the right temperature. We were certainly well-taken care of. The place is unpretentious sans the unnecessary frills, it feels exactly dining at home. Service and ambiance aside, the European-Fusion menu is standard-average with some hits and misses. Patois Kafe & Bistro is located at Service Road, off Burmah Road (right next to Chow Thye Road).

"The Original" Aligot (Rm 13.90 + Rm 2/ extra vegetables) The Aligot is not served as it is... after it is ready and topped with various of toppings (for the case of "The Original", fried Sausages, sliced Cucumbers, diced Carrots, Corn Kernels, blanched Broccoli and caramelized Onions are served)... additional sauce will then be added, with a choice between "Tom Yum" and "Honey Mustard". The texture was amazing and the creamy-cheesy flavor was certainly addictive. Good on its own but even better with the addition of Honey Mustard... which introduced a sleek sweetness to the Potato. The greens offered a crunchy bite to the otherwise monotonous Potato-concoction. Pretty small portion and might not be too filling for the big eaters; great snack option nevertheless.
