Tiong Bahru holds several food memories for me and I've found another reason to return.
All that talk about laksa yesterday reminded me that I still hadn't made my way over here yet (1 HarbourFront Walk #02-48, 9721-6560). The place was more upscale than I thought it would be, and the menu was more extensive than I had imagined too, featuring a number of creative little small plates that looked promising.
The Grilled Tiger Prawn Dry Laksa came in a really big portion, and was moist with quite a bit of concentrated laksa broth/sauce, lemak, had strong flavours of coconut milk and prawns, and came with nice sprinklings of tau pok and fish cake.
Service at Doodles is friendly and efficient, and their stream of returning customers during peak hours is a testament to their standard and quality.
There is an element of both novelty and health, and this āshake-noodlesā which may remind some of shaker fries, would not have difficulty getting curious onlookers to try.
With more than 30 items on the menu, you will definitely be spoilt for choice.
Magosaburo Cafe is a lovely cafe that delivers excellent Japanese-Western fusion food.
The price tag is hefty, and letās just say Curate is best reserved for special occasions or anniversaries. It is definitely a place to impress your date. Will Curate be the next Michelin Star Restaurant in Singapore? My guess is a yes.
