This was a really big bowl. The porridge had a tasty underlying stock, savoury, pleasantly porky and flavourful. The minced and sliced pork was generous and fresh, tender and tasty, being well marinated. The critters were really crispy and nice too, adding a nice textural contrast to the porridge
There is only a man over the stove in preparing the porridge thus resulting in the long queue. Other than that, if I were to visit the next round, I will request them to spare their hands on the amount of white pepper given.
This porridge stall is truly a well-kept secret of Jurong West.
Heng Huat Boneless Duck Noodles rightfully holds its ground as one of the best stalls at Boon Lay Food Village.
Heng Hua Boon Lay Boneless Duck Noodles is one of my favourite hawker stalls in Singapore.
So its popularity speaks truly based on the taste and experience I had from the bowl of Boneless Duck Noodles.
The Hakka pork chop was really tender, crispy and fragrant of nan ru. The cabbage was crunchy and tasty, and onion egg was slightly molten soft. The curry was just ok, having the slightest curry fragrance. But overall, this was a tasty and memorable plate.
While there were only limited dishes during rush hour, I'm still not very satisfied as I have yet to get a chance to enjoy the rest of their Cze Char Dishes on the menu. I will be back soon with my makan kakis!
The bee hoon was moist and lightly savoury. The chicken wing was moist and tender inside, but uncrispy outside. It had an interesting flavour redolent of light Indian spices and turmeric though. The egg was well fried, with lava yolk and nice egg crisp 蛋酥 at the edges.
The fried pork belly was quite moist, tender, slightly crispy at the edges and tasty, and went nicely with the onsen egg and rice bowl. The bacon and enoki was crunchy and nice, soft salty otah and crispy tau kee standard stuff but nicely fried and unoily, and sauce quite sweet and comfortable.

The karubi beef rib was smoky, tender and slightly beefy, but I couldn’t taste much marination and any other flavour, resulting in the bowl being slightly one dimensional.
The rosti was not bad and quite tasty, with a good crisp outside, although not sticking together too well and at some parts not soft enough inside.
Pop by if you’re craving for some healthy grain bowls, and skewers!
The bowl and the skewers were really prepared with care. You could tell that they took pride in providing a solid set of healthy sides, while the skewers were barbequed nicely, with nice char and smokiness, and retaining moisture and tenderness inside.
Curry PaPa opens from as early as 6am, so be sure to check them out if you happen to be in Jurong West!
To be honest, tutus are such tasty little morsels that one is never enough!
Sliced Fish Soup from Jurong West 505 Market & Food Centre
The xiaolongbao was really quite nice – well marinated, fresh tasting, tender, filled with juicy meat nicely interspersed with fatty bits, with silky and thin skin, although with less broth than I would have liked. The skin was so thin that a couple burst open. The dan dan noodles were nice too, slightly spicy, peanutty with a good serving of spicy minced meat.
The gelatinous skin is so soft and delicate it literally melts in the mouth. An added bonus is the absence of prickly hairs which I abhor because that would mean I had to discard that piece of precious skin.
Cai Ji Ke Kou Mian’s offerings make for brilliant hearty breakfasts that will give you enough vigour to power through the day. At least it’s a lot better than just cooking up regular ol’ instant noodles at home.
Ke Kou Mian In Taman Jurong Market and Hawker Centre
滑顺的猪肠粉,配上甜咸古早味又含有猪油香的酱。不错。
Basic Prawn Noodle and Laksa from Industrial Canteen.
This is one of my favourite rojak stalls since 12 years ago when Taman Jurong Market was located else where. This particular stall sells only Rojak and nothing else - Specialized!
A fairly average char kway teow, with the kway teow and noodles not sufficiently soft and mixed in, and tasting more like the firmer breakfast stall kway teow. The kway teow was also a tad sweet.
A branch of the Golden Mile stall. The minced pork was mostly lean with some fatty bits within. The taste profile was a strong soy sauce savouriness with some sweetness and hints of other spices. Quite tasty and 下饭. With the juices from the minced meat coating the rice, I almost finished the rice even though I was full.
