Their Sambal Fish was so delicious. It was truly one of the best that I have tasted. Been so long that I had food this good. Truly miss these places as it has been so long. The fish was slightly on the spicy side and came with some thick gravy. 10/10 is my rating for this. Similarly, their Fish Roe was another one that won my heart. Absolutely delicious stuff and I would rate it at 9/10.

Verdict? Never go to Kudu during Ramadhan month. The chicken is extremely hard - presumably from reheating the food due to low demand during Ramadhan month. Oh the chicken is rock hard I assure you can kill someone by throwing at them. The okra is clearly undercooked it wouldn't break apart when you bite it! Another colleague ordered the chicken drumstick, it is so small like which is as big as the Eclipse mint box! So pathetic.

3 tiny hoppers, 2 cocktails came up to RM126. Not even kidding you, these aren't fancy food that's worth RM126. Without the cocktail it would be fairly more reasonable. Will I return again? Perhaps yes - but I'll be more careful with the choices, no more peppered goat and cocktails. Honestly, it is very difficult to for us to have the urge to return if us consumers don't feel the value we are paying for. Nevertheless, something that's worth the credits - this idea is very interesting and very Instagram-friendly.

Our Lobster Biryani @ RM280 was served in a large steel pot, sealed with pastry dough which locks up the flavours while cooking. This dish was so massive the staff had to use a trolley to send the large steel pot over to your table. Taste wise we thought it was simply delicious and imparted a unique sweetness which can’t be replaced with Chicken, Mutton or Lamb. This hint of sweetness which came from the Lobster helped elevate the dish to a different level compared to other biryanis. The lobster by itself was fresh and succulent and had that delicious tender bite.

Unfortunately, I found the whole experience rather mediocre. Worst still, I felt like I have wasted my calorie allowance by eating this BLR. The prices are quite reasonable though – RM 6.20 for the rice with refillable veggies and curries and around RM 6 per small plate of protein. But I probably wouldn’t ever return.

A typical Banana Leaf Rice here served with 3 vegetable cost RM6. Price isn’t expensive but not considered cheap either – especially for the vegetable spread we received. While the restaurant rotates its vegetable spread daily, on this particular day the spread was uninspiring and disappointing.

The new dessert created by Sapna was a nice surprise to end the meal. Using a freshly-made sweet appam as a beautiful lacy “plate”, Goa’s house-made Peanut Ice Cream, served with dashes of caramel and crunchy almond flakes was the perfect dessert to round up our lovely Goan dinner.

There's also the melt-in-your-mouth, Malabar Style Mutton Curry. It's rich, spicy and mellow, an additive dish some will die for, drawing the most 'ooooohs and aaaaaaahs' from the table. Mutton is never an easy meat to cook, and most are not able to make it tender but Chef Sapna's Malabar Style Mutton Curry was absolutely tender and soft.

I especially loved their pumpkin parathal. It had the usual sweetness that comes with pumpkin while also spicy. You can eat it on its own or have it with rice, it is delicious either way. Their payasam was da bomb, real delicious. There were tiny bits of wheat – sago lookalike that was chewy and it complimented the thick sweetness of the payasam real well. Yum!

When dining in a Indian restaurant like this, Briyani is always a MUST TRY. The Chicken Briyani was beautifully presented and is part of what made this dish so special. The chutney and yogurt on the side was certainly a good touch and adds so much depth.

If you want indian food with a home-cooked feel, the food here would totally do it for you. The curry taste was rich and flavorful, the fried chicken was spiced perfectly and the vegetables were delicious. Food was pretty decently priced too. I had a plate of 2 vegetables + 1 meat and my partner had a plate of 3 vegetables + 1 meat and both the dishes together only cost us 16.80 ringgit.

Lawanya is as old as I am (minus a few years) and it is officially one of my favourite place for South Indian food now. The team is efficient, the dining area clean and orderly and the prices fair. If you haven’t tried the food here, I do strongly urge you to do so!

Despite their hefty price tag, one thing I like about an authentic Indian restaurant is the person who take the order is always never the waiter or waitress. Overall, it was a perfect supper for us. Food was superb and NO service charge and NO GST add an additional bonus to it. But their service is a drawback for me. The staff who took our order has no proper English Knowledge so my sister face difficulties in getting Chutney for her Thosai. According to the staff, the shop is managed by the owner of WTF, Bangsar. I never tried WTF before so after my delicious meal here. I really wish to drop by WTF for a meal.

The specialty here is their Mutton Briyani. Very huge portions and I would say that it is good to feed two people. Prices are very reasonable since it is a set up that mainly caters for the foreigners The Briyani rice was so tasty and I did not even need the gravy that was provided. The mutton chunks were so soft and tender as well. If I were to rate this Briyani, I shall definitely give it 8/10.

Briyani itself was sufficiently moist and the mutton came with some really delicious and thick gravy that I very much enjoyed. The amount of meat in the Briyani was quite a lot as well. The flavours were well balanced and neither one overpowered the other. Loved it for sure and my rating for this Lotus Leaf Mutton Briyani shall be 8/10

The Thali meal was delicious. I liked having this particular meal because it allows you to taste a bit of everything. That ‘bit’ came in 8 varieties – payasam, acar, lightly fried coconut, fried brinjal, longbeans, aviyal, rasam and sambar. Yummy! The fish curry was awesome – thick and real flavorful, packed with spices. The only downside to this dish was the fish, as yummy as it was, it came in a small piece, hardly lasted me through half of the rice. Considering this dish as a whole is worth 15 ringgit, I guess the small piece of fish can be overlooked but it sucked though – fish was good too, wish I had more.

Food was yummy, yawwwww. I can see why Havelly is pretty highly rated. The briyani was yummy, The rice was moist – just the way I like it, there was plenty of flavor and a generous amount of chicken. Rather than a big chuck on meat stuffed into the rice, the chicken here were chopped and served in small pieces. The dish also came with a side of indian yogurt – Mooru and a gravy. Both were an awesome addition to the dishes, added a difference in texture and taste.
