[Halal] We finally checked out this establishment for their famous dish – Dancing Fish. The presentation is very cool – the fish really looks like it is dancing/jumping.
DF Appetizer Platter (RM 49.80) comes to our favorite where the platter is packed with their signature items which includes their charcoal – grilled Chicken Satay, Cumi Cumi Tahu Bakar with the Spicy Peanut Rujak Sauce, Seafood Sate Lilit and Spicy Green Apple Salad with Salted Fish. The platter is just awesome where they are packed with flavors as well.
Nasi Goreng, 12.50 ringgit. Okay, you guys have got to agree with me that there is something special about Indonesian styled fried rice as oppose to our local fried rice. Maybe it is the oil they use? or some spices? I do not know what but whatever they use is enough to make it distinct. This was one plate of deliciousness. Soooo good! For 12.50 ringgit, you would get a plate of delicious fried rice + pork + egg + fish crackers. I just died and went to food heaven. No joke. Every mouthful was as delightful as the first. That is all I’ve got to say.

Indonesian style mee goreng basah, RM25, the roast pork on the side is really good, surprised at the amount of crunch it has, wish they have a side dish with only roasted pork. yum!
Nanu's Platter served with a various of delectable foods such as Crispy Roasted Pork, Pigs in a Blanket, Corn on the Cob, BBQ Iberico Ribs, Crispy Fish Fingers, Mini Mix Mesclun Salad, Golden Calamari Rings, Vienna Cheese Sausage, BBQ Satay Lilit, Cheey Truffle Fries and Honey BBQ Sausage. We enjoyed to dip it with different sauce to enhance the flavourness and delicious! Quite satisfying and worth to paid off because we could taste a variety of these foods of the platter. It is available on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday exclusively. The price of the platter was RM188.
Do you like it spicy? If so, you’ll definitely want to pay Waroeng Special Sambal ‘SS’ a visit! Despite its unassuming appearance (the interior is simple and no-frills, almost canteen-like), the resto dishes out tasty Indonesian fare served with what else? sambal that will have you breathing fire in no time.
The Ayam Dada Bakar, 7 ringgit was awesome. It came in two options – goreng or bakar, we opted for the healthier version, bakar. The chicken meat was surprisingly soft and tender. It literally falls of the bone. Imagine having it with some sambal and rice? Damn, it got my tummy excited again.
Flavourwise it is non-spicy and leaned more on the sweet side with strong accents of lemongrass, turmeric and onions and other aromatics. The marination goes deep until the bones so every bite was tasty. Some parts can be slightly drier (breast meat) but not inedibly so. The best part? The skin where the concentration of the marination is! The whole chicken wasn’t overly greasy as it was grilled for a minimum of 2 hours so most of the fat dripped out over the coals.
Menjilat jari dibuatnya!
So - I definitely recommend that you drop by this place for deliciously roasted chicken, best eaten with a side of eggs, kangkung and tom yam soup:
We returned to Restoran Nasi Kapau for one of the best Nasi Padang in Kuala Lumpur. One of the best Indonesian food in KL.
One dish here we’ve yet to find elsewhere is Ayam Pop (RM7) – chicken cooked in coconut water and spices before it is fried to golden brown. The meat is tender and flavourful. The accompanying sambal is mildly spicy and sweet, and cooked with a bit of petai for the slight pungent hit.
Restoran Nasi Kapau serves one of the best Nasi Padang in Kuala Lumpur. Our favourite dishes include Dendeng and Ayam Pop! Sedap!
This pared down version of a bigger restaurant has really whetted our appetite for the larger one, and we’d be very happy to go back here. Simply, we didn’t have a dish we didn’t really enjoy. There are a few decent places in MyTown, but this is the best so far. Highly recommended.
We ordered two dishes - a grilled tilapia fish at MYR 28.50++ (5% service charge and 6% SST = MYR 31.63 nett)
Overall, it was a nice dining experience at The Majapahit Restaurant & Bar.
Sharing dishes are also available here for “tai chou” style dining experience. For butter chicken fans, their Coconut Butter Chicken (RM25) is highly suggested. Here, the butter gravy was cooked with margarine, cream, and coconut milk. As a result the dish is more thick and flavoured packed compared with the regular butter chicken.
Don’t miss out the tender juicy ayam pop and also the Ayam Kg Gulai which is so delicious. Personally, I love the Ayam Kg Gulai where I love the delicious gulai drenched on my rice with the tender juicy chicken meat.
We had the Ayam penyet paha (flattened chicken thigh RM10.50) which comes with fried tofu, tempeh and fresh local vegetables (cucumber haha!). The crispy chicken has been marinated in Java spices and then deep fried. It was moist and juicy. You can eat it with one of three types of sambal (self-service) depending on the spiciness level that you like.
We have rather mixed feelings about our dinner here. On one hand, we really enjoyed the melding of flavours and ingredients in the dishes – which we found to be quite differentiated from other offerings in the Klang Valley. We definitely recommended the Nasi Lemak and Smoked Bebek. On the other hand, they definitely have some kinks to iron out (they are less than a month old after all), but nothing that can’t be resolved easily. In any case, we hope to return one day to try Arang’s other offerings.
For spicy food lovers, the Spicy Seafood Tom Yam (RM32) will certainly get your tastebuds tingling. This Thai hot and sour soup comes with generous amounts of sea bass, squid and prawns.
Overall, we enjoyed our meal here at Bumbu Bali, as we managed to satiate our craving for Balinese food. This space is definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a nice and comfortable spot for dinner in Puchong.
For snacks, we shared the fried chicken strips (RM17), served with garlic pepper sauce. This was mostly chicken skin but oh-so-addictive. The sauce was strong and garlicky.
I do not know much about Balinese food and so, all I will say is that the food here is good. I went online, was curious to see the restaurant reviews as well as how well rated it was and yea, the reviews and ratings speaks for itself. Food was goooood, delicious. The dish came with Rice + Spiced Squids + Grilled Fish + Grilled Prawns + a Satay Lilit ( chicken or beef) + Chicken Rendang + Sambal (sambal Matah and sambal Terasi) + Anchovies Crackers + Salad. It was worth every penny, that is all I have to say. Did I mention how satisfied I was – very.
Makan tengahari di Restoran Waroeng Penyet The Curve Damansara.Menu:1. Nasi putih2. Ayam penyet3. Ikan goreng4. Kangkung masak belacan5. Keropok warna6. Jus ...
Waroeng Penyet recently launched the Indomie Ayam Penyet @ RM12.90, which consists of crispy ayam penyet, fried tofu, tempeh and fresh local vegetables. Their ayam penyet is marinated with 9 types of Java spices and then deep fried. Taste wise, the ayam penyet had a spicy aroma in the chicken skin. It was meaty and tender, surprisingly paired well with the slightly heated Indomie noodles.
Lele Penyet/ Flattened Fried Catfish (RM7.90) Another recommended dish from Warong Penyet Penyets section. Deep fried to perfection, the fish is crispy outside with soft, fleshy fish filling. Again, the spicy sambal continued to whip up our appetite, we screamed for spiciness after every dipping but the spiciness was so good and addictive, too hard to resist. Served along with deep fried taufu and tempe.
Desserts. Biscoff ni memang sedap sangat. Brownies coklat tu pun sedap
The choices at this restaurant seems to also focus on beef and cow innards (both dry version as well as berlado/chili or curry versions), likely not the cup of tea for everyone but I think it is still on bad.
What do We Like about Padangs on Wheels? -The lauk were all tasty -Nasi padang in air-conditioned and super comfortable dining environment, why not?
All in, we were pleased with our meal here, with a special acknowledgement to the excellent and attentive service, who anticipated our needs in advance. Besides Nasi Padang, POW also serves Western-style cakes and kueh-mueh – which makes for good afternoon treats.
