Everything in a seafood lunch checked off – comforting, tum satisfying and the best part of it is the charred rice bits at the bottom of the pot!
In most aspects, dining at Teppan Kappou Kenji is quite value for money.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience at Teppan Kappou Kenji.
If you love napoletana style pizza, this is the place to go!
We ordered their sotong. Pretty good chewy and tender sautéed squids that was served on a bed of squid ink cream and a spicy arrabiata-esque sauce.
Overall, the Okinawa menu is worth a try for anyone keen to have a taste of Okinawa.
Though Tendon Ginza Itsuki may charge cheaper for its tendon and its queue is also relatively shorter, I still can’t see the reason for coming back because nothing really stands out for me.
If you would like to experience the melt-in-mouth Hokkaido Wagyu with affordable price, come and try this newly opened restaurant by the folks behind Wagyu specialty restaurant Aburiya in Boat Quay and Robertson Quay.
Diners can enjoy the sophisticated taste of authentic Wagyu over Shiro Zumi ( 白炭, Japanese white charcoal).
The Deep-fried Crab Dumpling was like a Japanese style crab cake. I like how thin and crisp the crust was, encasing a sweet and savoury crab filling.
S$88 for an omakase meal at Rockon Tokyo is a pretty good value in Singapore’s context. The flavours of the style at this restaurant lean towards the lighter spectrum, as it advocates the obanzai Kyoto-style dishes. As such, it probably wouldn’t suit your palate if you usually go for the heavier flavours in Japanese omakase.
Overall was quite an experience with obanzai Kyoto-style dishes here at Rockon Tokyo.
This time round, scallop liver sashimi was available. We ordered some. Thy were pretty good.
Menya Masamune is probably a good spot to head to if in the area, especially for their Abura Soba; let’s see how they would distinguish themselves from the rest in time to come.
