Food here is good and their service is really fast too but i feel that their price is a little expensive. Environment is comfortable and nice.
Here's the location.
Ippudo Pork Bun (RM 7.70), one of their signature snack and best seller across the world. Juicy braised pork belly with Ippudo's special sauce sandwiched between the soft mantau is addictive
Arashi Shabu Shabu is a fine dining styled steamboat with sophisticated decoration. It is one-of-a-kind for shabu-shabu restaurant. Once you step in, you will be awed by the interior. Of course, being me, I picked the most strategic spot that has a pretty background.
Finally, we had Matcha Crepe Cake and Blueberry Rare Cheesecake. We both enjoyed the lightness of the cake - not sweet, light texture yet flavourful. The Matcha Crepe Cake has a nice work around the texturing and layering, and the Blueberry Rare Cheesecake exhibit a pleasant acidic taste that neutralize its creaminess and sweetness. For once, I could enjoy 2 pieces of Chateraise cakes, or even more after having a satisfying main dishes.
I like the coffee, it taste good but it would be even better if there is more Honey Comb in it.
If you thought the Japanese cuisine only involved slurping ramen or eating raw fish, Doutor Coffee is here to prove you wrong. Having successfully launched 3 outlets in Malaysia (2 in central region, 1 in souther Malaysia), Doutor Coffee continues to expand its reach to Penang, opening the group's 4th restaurant at Gurney Plaza (al-freso zone between the mall and G Hotel). Doutor Coffee started in Tokyo's Harajuku district a few decades back; fast-forward today, the brand has international presence in Taiwan, Singapore and now in Malaysia. The Japanese-influenced cafe offers a wide range of Japanese-Western dishes at unbeatable prices; none of the items are priced above Rm 20 (with no service charge and government tax), making it one of the most affordable places to dine in at the mall.
We were impressed with the skewers especially the grilled Chicken Thigh, lightly seasoned with salt. The meat was tender-juicy inside while the skin was addictively crispy on the outside, it could be one of the best ones around.
Kobe Beef - 1 piece for each of us. Tender and creamy from the marbled meat.
Zuzudo Ramen Bar is a new compact Ramen eatery housed within G Hotel Penang (at the al-fresco dining area between G Hotel and Gurney Plaza), the name 'Zuzu' resembles the sound when slurping noodles... in Japanese language; it does give some hints on how confident are they when it comes to their Ramen noodles. The usual menu seems impressive but the offering is limited during this soft launch period; the menu is dedicated entirely to serve Chicken Ramen (various flavors and no pork here). To our surprise, the prices are wallet-friendly yet, they don't skimp on serving portion; the only concern here is that the place gets warm especially on sultry hot afternoons so the heat-intolerant might find the lack of air-conditioner disturbing. If there's a Ramen lover in you, you should give this place a try.
This is fabulous Japanese noodles I have even tried before..
Sushi Kitchen believes in using organic food which nourishes the body in a balanced manner.
Living in a country surrounded by Sea, the Japanese are some of the experts when it comes to Seafood. Their love for Seafood can be seen on their food culture... so much love for Seafood until they combined Seafood with Senbei, a classic all-time Japanese favorite snack made of Rice (also known as Rice Crackers). The introduction of such Seafood Crackers was a hit in Japan and the blessed food gourmets in Penang can now enjoy a piece of these freshly made, paper-thin Seafood Crackers. Tako Senbei, a brand originated from Japan, has recently opened a new branch at lower ground floor of Gurney Plaza (1st in Penang/ 2nd branch in Malaysia).
We had the Chicken Katsu Pillow Rice for RM 13.90 - with fluffy egg, delicious curry and two chicken balls that has cheese filling. Seating might be a challenge as they only have 6 seats along the bars but you can always take away. What a real bargain and discovery here!
