Overall, I really enjoyed the Inaniwa udon noodles as they were nicer than other udon I have tried so far and the sashimi slices were also thick and generous. The environment was also peaceful and cosy for a quiet private meal with no noisy neighbours. The pretty desserts were also a great way to end the meal
Quality, tasty food at a reasonable price.
A cosy, spacious and contemporary interior with a capacity of 80.
Certainly. Next time, I shall go for the large serving (as the $29.50+ serving wasn't quite enough even with shared sides of grilled eel liver & intestines, and a strip of braised pork belly).
Overall, I think that Man Man Unagi deserves its spot in the Singapore Michelin Bib Gourmand List 2017.
Totally worth the calories and I won't mind coming back again.
One day I'd like to come here to try their dinner (interestingly, they cook on crystal platters, allegedly for more evenly spread heat), but I definitely can't be the one paying.
来到新加坡,肉勝又位于Duxton Road老店屋,狭长型店面只有28个座位,置身其中却不至于有一股油烟味。
Price-point is reasonable, not just for the dishes but also for the alcoholic beverages when you dine at the restaurant during happy hours.
Highly recommended food and excellent service - do make your way down once the outdoor dining ban has been lifted.
Every dish is well-crafted and created to fulfil the omakase experience.
Overall, we loved our dining experience at Mai By Dashi Master Marusaya, and will definitely return again.
All in all, I wouldn’t allow the 2-3 less impressive dishes discourage me from revisiting.
The Superior Prawn Mee Pok Noodles (SGD $19) was pretty good, and I would order it again.
I think Izy Fook is a great little place for dinner and drinks in Club St if you're looking for something a little less 'expat-y' but do not want to go full on hawker.
Wouldn't mind dropping back in for a quick lunch.
may come back for the dinner omakase maybe sometime for lunch when feel like it..
I am actually keen to head back for its dinner omakase one day!
KYUU by Shunshui – Japanese Omakase by Keong Saik Chinatown
I really like the doneness of the Tuna Belly with Truffle Ponzu Sauce; slightly raw with a bit of bite, soaking up the delicious savory sauce, although the taste of truffle was indiscernible.
The overall experience of sitting through the courses is also worthwhile, so I recommend for omakase fans to check this out!
I'm happy to report that Neon Pigeon's new menu has not only knocked my socks off on first trial but overall, it brings as much substance as style to the bustling food enclave of Keong Saik. Sure, the establishment may be filled with mini-dress strapping Caucasian women with voices building to a crescendo fuelled by cocktails, and the space gets just a little too claustrophobic at times.
A must-try, and perhaps the best hummus I've ever had, the Tokyo Hummus ($9) was blended with edamame for a savoury undertone.
Overall, I feel that the addition of Neon Pigeon to the haps Keong Saik Road further seals this street as one of the most interesting dining area in Singapore.
Overall, the seafood was definitely the star of the restaurant with freshness almost straight from the market and served with the perfect thickness and cuts. In terms of price, it is relative to the quality of the ingredients. The hot food was ok and nice but nothing too different from other Japanese restaurants. I do not mind returning just for their seafood
The service was generally pleasant and the staffs greeted us with a smile for the whole time. It was a pleasant one and I hope to visit them soon for their Omakase.
Tori karaage was passable.
IKKOUSHA makes the most wholesome tonkotsu ramen, a favorite for traditional ramen lovers and those who avoid overly rich food. You'll enjoy its refreshing taste. Try it and revel in Ikkousha's greatness"
The high stool seatings and the tight tables encourage communal dining with a lofty chance of alcoholic tipples, the open bar making sure to fortify those thirsty needs.
I have heard negative things said about Butcher Boy but I quite like the restaurant and would return to it.
Dishes worth trying include the Iberico Pork Belly (S$32), the Duck Banh Mi with Liver Pate and Sriracha ($18) and the foolproof Fried Chicken Bao with Yuzu Kewpie (S$18).
The kawaebi was much tastier than it looked.
Shirasu tamago kake gohan. Great with shoyu, great with the leftover ponzu from the ankimo/shirako.
Although each individual dish is relatively affordable, they add up quickly.
Ambience at the Flying Squirrel was nice and cozy.
The raw fish was fresh and firm in texture, bouncing ever so gently upon teeth's clamp. We enjoyed our palatable lunch greatly and would be happy to return for more.
A humble Japanese restaurant owned and run by locals is serving up creatively decadent Omakase pieces in Tiong Bahru.
Food at Torio Japanese Restaurant is classic Japanese cuisine, done to fine dining standards. Ingredients are premium and fresh, and Head Chef Jackles 'Jack' Tai, an Itamae (skilled sushi chef) with 20 years experience, translates them into beautifully executed plates which are delicious and visually pleasing.

The unagi is glazed with their sauce and kind of glisten under the light, giving the surface a good glow.
Kazan Japanese Cuisine is a real gem. They serve good food in generous portions and prices are wallet-friendly.
1 review of KAZAN Japanese Cuisine "It is always hard to link good Japanese food with hawker centre. But this stall will change your impression. It offers Teriyaki Bento, Salmon, Bento and other rice items at hawker price but restaurant standard.…
iKKAGOYO, inspired by a Japanese proverb that translates to ‘one flower opening up to five petals and will bear fruit soon’, is the latest kaiseki restaurant along Amoy Street that opened on 21 March 2023.
The Place I am always excited to check out new Japanese restaurants and Ikkagoyo is the latest kaiseki concept along Amoy Street helmed by Chef Mitsutaka Sakamoto from Hyogo, Japan. …
Overall, it was a superb dining experience. The menu is carefully curated with the freshest and luxurious ingredients, suitable for that special occasion.
What I really like about Wa-i Sushi is its authenticity. Like in traditional Japanese restaurants, Wa-i doesn’t serve salmon sashimi.
Overall, the price point of Wa-i Sushi is relatively value for money for a dinner omakase meal in Singapore.
For the flavourful grains alone, I’d come back again for sure.
What I enjoyed was the fluffy rice mixture, with just the right amount of seasoning that didn’t tip on being salty, and there was just that whiff of truffle oil without being overpowering.
Considering its location at Tanjong Pagar Plaza, Chirashi King Kong is probably a hidden gem for the office workers of the Central Business District to get their Bara Chirashu fix at pocket-friendly prices.
