My friend chose US Pork Loin and I chose Australian Beef Chuck Roll because it is less fatty than Australian Beef Brisket.
牛魔日式刷刷锅 Wagyu More Japanese Shabu Shabu @ The Gardens Mall 限定两个小时用餐时间, 对我们来说刚刚好。
Verdict: It was indeed a satiated meatilicious hotpot experience, burpsss 。^‿^。
Another must try is their Wagyu Beef Bun. You can now enjoy the juicy wagyu beef patty which is perfectly marinated in the special sauce and they served with lettuce and cheese in a steamed bun. They are just so good and the meat is so juicy!
When BabySumoKids crave for ramen, Ippudo in The Gardens Mall is the place we would choose to go to. This visit, we ordered two full bowl sets, whereby you can choose from five types of ramen, and also from two appetizer sets
Having been around here for some time now, recently another new menu has been introduced to titillate Japanese ramen fans on top of its existing menu. Let’s have a quick rundown of what could be expected from the latest addition.
Decided to an older establishment instead, a few months’ ago. Sou Omakase Dining has been around for 6 years, and still going strong given its location and decent pricing.
Located in "Mid Valley City Mall", and near to entrance the Gardens Hotel is the "Sou Omakase Dining" which offers no other menu but only Omakase dining experience starting at rm$88 to rm$350+; available as Lunch or Dinner options.
Verdict: For person that never been to Japan like me, it’s always good to have chance to sample food or produces freshly bring in to our country. If you are Japanese food enthusiasts, don’t attempt to miss this!
Chawanmushi MYR 5.47 nett (used to be MYR 5.80 nett). California Maki and Avocado Maki used to be MYR 4.80 nett each so now is MYR 4.53 nett. A white plate of sushi (tamago sushi in this case) used to cost MYR 2.80 nett so now it costs MYR 2.64 nett.
a bowl of soba noodles (small portion) with tempura at MYR 14.80 nett
2 chawanmushi at MYR 5.80 nett each. This is a must-order item for my friend and I.
What do We Like about Yayoi at The Gardens? -Many choices of teishoku to choose from -Teishoku set with assorted side dishes serve in a single tray
Chicken Oyako Don at MYR 16.90++ (10% service charge and 6% SST = MYR 19.60 nett ). Taste good enough.
Yuzu has the best of fine dining and also good taste and service, which was why it managed to maintain the business here from my Uni years till now.
Cod fish bento - MYR 62++ (10% service charge, 6% SST = MYR 71.92 nett). It was a very small piece of cod fish but the tasty beef kind of make up for the fish.
My lunch set at Yuzu, The Gardens Mall: Salmon Nabe Set at MYR 30.30 nett. There are two portion of fruits on my tray because my friend gave me hers. There are 4 big pieces of salmon with lots of napa cabbage, bean curd and mushrooms in the pot. I kept half for dinner without the broth. My only complaint is that the salmon pieces have many bones in them so I had to be very careful when eating them.
Had this few years back, very filling and nice, I think RM150 per pax
For weekday dinner, the restaurant offers a Tasting Menu (RM228 nett) whereby diners can choose 2 appetizers and dessert or main course and dessert; Sage Menu (RM278 nettt) for appetizer, main course and dessert, or a 4-course Chef's Special Menu (RM338 nett).
For mains, diners have a choice of three different dishes to choose from - usually a selection of fish, lamb or beef. We both went for the Australian Wagyu striploin with chasseur sauce. Simply irresistible, the Wagyu was cooked to perfection... every mouthful a delight to savour.
In summary, Tamago-En is an egg-stravaganza adventures during my visit. It was more than just a meal; it was a celebration of the incredible versatility of eggs. From the “bright orange sun in fluffy-cloud” to the tornado omelette adventure, each dish was a testament to the artistry and creativity that can be achieved with eggs.
Kintsugi is an excellent addition to the local Japanese fine dining landscape and The Gardens dining portfolio. It’s also reasonably priced, serves quality food and is good value for money. For those looking for that next Japanese date night spot, bookmark Kintsugi.
Now that Rakuzen is at the Gardens Mall since Sept 2019, I have been there about 6 times and for each time I ordered the same item which is Salmon Shioyaki Set Lunch at MYR (26 + 10)+ (6% SST = MYR 38.15 nett). There was once when all 4 of us ordered this Salmon Shioyaki Set Lunch each because we feel that it is the best value for money set lunch as the piece of salmon is thick and big.
Recently, during my birthday celebration in Yuzu, Gardens, I spotted Ichiriki after our lunch which has an opening promotion for 2 items and the food are not that expensive at RM 25 above. So we went to Ichiriki last week.
One of the cheaper japanese restaurant in Gardens, dined there for few times My salmon sashimi set, only RM29
Only the 6 small maki on the left is mine. Ebi Avo Ebiko Maki (Avocado Prawn Maki covered with shrimp roe) at MYR 10.40+ (10% service charge = MYR 11.45 nett).
Overall, it was a good dinner for me. Delicious Japanese food and excellent service. I guess, I should make reservation during my next visit so that I don’t have to queue for my turn.
My friend highly recommends this cake: Gateau Chocolat Bar Cake at MYR 61.35 nett which she has bought many times to celebrate birthdays of friends and family. I have eaten a smaller version of this cake before here and I hope to try this bigger version one day to see if there is any difference when compared to the smaller one.
Gateau Chocolate from Chateraise Gardens Mall. Gateau means a rich cake, usually containing layers of cream. This Chocolate cake has many thin layers of different texture of cream and chocolate cake which I did not manage to take a photo of. Although the cake is rich but it feels light and it was finished before we realised it.
Sencha ice, houjicha jelly, matcha ice cream, matcha mont blanc, orange peel mochi, matcha warabimochi, yuzu dango, sweetened red bean, fresh strawberry and buttered rice puffs. I think the buttered rice puffs are out of place here though I understand they are included for the crunchy texture to contrast against the other items. Next time I will order a customized bowl of this ice and only select the items I like.
Last Saturday, I went to Kakigori, the Gardens Mall with 3 of my friends to try their desserts. We ordereed a bowl of Uji Matcha Kakigori - MYR17 nett - (shaved ice) which includes a small cup of kinako (roasted soy flour) milk and topped with a piece of warabimochi.
A week ago, I noticed that Kakigori (Japanese dessert eatery in PJ) has opened an outlet in the Gardens mall. It occupied the unit vacated by this shop. It is next to Jaya Grocer.
