My current go to place for Hainanese pork satay in Singapore. They are located in a quiet corner of the Food Centre where there are a few hipster beer stalls as well!
The satay was tender, smoky, sweet and savoury, and full of spices. This was a good rendition of Chinese satay, with the pork satay offering some fatty bits for juice and fragrance.
Despite the portion of the rice is not as much as one coming from the Indian stall, or the smaller-sized chicken leg in comparison but for the price ($4), it is good value.
Although there are only two items on the menu, uncle Bobby has indeed carved out a niche in this area.
Mum Daughter Kitchen serves authentic Nasi Padang in Chinatown. Try their Sotong Hitam and Ayam Masak Chili Padi!
I did feel that their rice had enough aroma and salt that I didn't even need the sambal though.
I would recommend catching them early as they open at 6 am, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a queue then! The stall will close once they are sold out.
Bamboo Nasi Rendang was a refreshing change of pace from the usual stalls in Chinatown Complex Food Centre and their bamboo nasi rendang is certainly enough to rival the more popular stalls in the area.
