DF Appetizer Platter (RM 49.80) comes to our favorite where the platter is packed with their signature items which includes their charcoal – grilled Chicken Satay, Cumi Cumi Tahu Bakar with the Spicy Peanut Rujak Sauce, Seafood Sate Lilit and Spicy Green Apple Salad with Salted Fish. The platter is just awesome where they are packed with flavors as well.

The Fried Rice cost me 11 ringgit but it can feed 2,3 people. The package it came in was filled right to the top. Portion size was generous. Not just the rice. The ‘ikan bilis’, kankung, cili padi, shrimps + chicken bits were more than anticipated. From the first spoon until the last, you’d get a nice mix of ingredients. Nasi Goreng Kampung has a distinct flavor and taste, right? The kind that you’d immediately know the type of Nasi Goreng it was upon tasting it?? Yup, that flavor was evident here. I’d definitely reorder this dish again. If you are a Kampung Fried Rice lover, you’d certainly enjoy Mamalees’ version.

Jackfruit Rendang Bao is a perfect substitute for meat. The stringy texture of jackfruit is very similar to meat, and when cooked rendang-style, tastes almost like beef – all wrapped in pillowy-soft mantou buns.

3 tiny hoppers, 2 cocktails came up to RM126. Not even kidding you, these aren't fancy food that's worth RM126. Without the cocktail it would be fairly more reasonable. Will I return again? Perhaps yes - but I'll be more careful with the choices, no more peppered goat and cocktails. Honestly, it is very difficult to for us to have the urge to return if us consumers don't feel the value we are paying for. Nevertheless, something that's worth the credits - this idea is very interesting and very Instagram-friendly.

It is definitely good, ‘sedap’ but it is not the best there is out there. The appeal here is the good food + affordable price point. Who can resist that combination, right?? It is ‘mamak’ food at its best. Food-wise, I was happy with everything except the Ayam Madu. I was expecting tender chicken with thick, sweetened honey syrup coating but here, it was done differently. Tender chicken it was but the ‘madu’ part was missing. In its place was some other gravy with onions. Besides that, food was yummy. The curry was thick and flavorful, the fried chicken was chewy yet tender. Bendi and cabbage were awesome additions in making both plates wholesome.

Their Sambal Fish was so delicious. It was truly one of the best that I have tasted. Been so long that I had food this good. Truly miss these places as it has been so long. The fish was slightly on the spicy side and came with some thick gravy. 10/10 is my rating for this. Similarly, their Fish Roe was another one that won my heart. Absolutely delicious stuff and I would rate it at 9/10.

Verdict? Never go to Kudu during Ramadhan month. The chicken is extremely hard - presumably from reheating the food due to low demand during Ramadhan month. Oh the chicken is rock hard I assure you can kill someone by throwing at them. The okra is clearly undercooked it wouldn't break apart when you bite it! Another colleague ordered the chicken drumstick, it is so small like which is as big as the Eclipse mint box! So pathetic.

Nasi Kerabu Salted Egg Chicken, 12 ringgit. The Nasi Kerabu was finger lickin’ good. The salted egg chicken was perfectly cooked, meaty and tender on the inside, crunchy and chewy on the outside. I liked that they gave me good amount of the salted egg gravy – which was real tasty, I could have just slurp it all up on its own. Many eateries gives you just enough gravy which often meant it was hardly enough but here, they give you enough. It was buttery, sweet, the curry leaves gave it an added rustic flavor – very nice. On top of that, just in case the salted egg gravy wasn’t enough, they also provide you with a bit of ‘Perchik’ sauce. This too was yummy, it was thick and flavorful but yea, I was soo into the salted egg gravy that this was more like an afterthought, lol. Just mixing everything up and eating it was utterly satisfying.

I went for the Deluxe Big and Tasty (Beef) as recommended by the lady. This was a standard Ramly beef patty topped with a chicken slice and crispy hash brown. It’s not bad and I like the crunchy hash brown inside the burger. However, it took 40 minutes for the burger to arrive. That’s an insanely long wait for what is essentially a Ramly burger with a few pre-made, store-bought flairs.

The Butter Kailan was another delicious dish. I’ve never had kailan cut into suck tiny pieces and fried that they resembled tiny bits of green paper. That was how thin each pieces was, no joke. My obvious pick here would be the Nasi Lemak with Ayam Goreng Berempah (RM12.90), with add-ons of Eggplant with Sambal (RM2.90) and Sayur Campur (RM2.90) below. The basmati rice was fragrant, not too overly rich, something which I liked, though my friend said that it could do with a hint more santan to boost. The sambal was sweet yet not too spicy, I can have this with almost everything. The fried chicken - was the bomb. It was spiced and marinated well, juicy, and had a fantastic crunch to it. I will never say no to fried chicken.

The highlight of the Nasi Lemak Harimau was the ayam goreng berempah and the otak serai. The ayam goreng had a strong rempah flavor and was fried really well, moist with crispy skin. The gravy was thick and tasty, flavorful that I slurped up every drop, fattening nonetheless. They offer 3 choices for noodles here, I opted for the yellow mee. I usually go for the mee hoon + kuey teow combo but with the thick gravy, the yellow mee was the best. Besides that, the dish also comes with fuchuk, tauhu, green beans, fish cakes, shredded chicken.
