Satay celup is a unique food experience that can only be found in Melaka. It involves dipping a skewered food of your choice into this boiling hot pot of spicy peanut sauce right in the center of the table. And today we’ll be visiting one of the most famous spots in Melaka for Satay Celup called Ban Lee Siang.
*The few must-have ingredients based on our experience: brown squid, fried tofu skin, kangkung, pork ball, bacon slice, and quail eggs.

Moh Teng Pheow Nonya Koay was where we headed for our fix of Nonya Kuehs. Having visited Jason’s Nonya House and still craving for Nonya fare, we found Moh Teng Pheow Nonya Koay a popular venue for koahs such as Kueh Lapis, Kueh Talam and Kueh Bengka.
We didn’t dislike any of the dishes, but we weren’t excited by any of them either. It’s good home-style cooking, but it’s not going to blow your socks off. Service was efficient and the food came fast.
Verdict: With so many good reviews I’ve read online (some even said this is the best choice when comes to Nyonya dining in Melaka), my dining experience certainly wouldn’t make it the best Nyonya restaurant in Melaka. Perhaps I’ve order the wrong dishes. Food was just decent but did not mind-blowing and I’ve had a better Nyonya meal elsewhere. (Read THIS)
This little Nyonya restaurant is located at Melakaraya area. We went pretty late, about 2pm-ish and yet the queue is still long! Nevertheless, the wait was not that long. We observed that the dishes come within 10 minutes after sitting down, so most of the dishes may have already been prepared way earlier.
What do We Like about Choon Prawn Mee House? -The prawn mee broth which was rich, and full of prawns’ flavour
The traditional Prawn Mee was very nice, I think prawn-based soup was a little bit on the sweet side and not as spicy as I'd imagine it to be, which fits my taste buds. Nice!

Its a nice place and once again Thank You the owner for being so nice allowing us to chip in after his operating hours. I really favor nyonya food therefore my choice of selection is quite particular so may not be the best Nyonya food that I have tried but definitely is one of the famous in Malacca that you can tried some local taste with reasonable price. I enjoyed the Nasi Kerabu. It was delicious and certainly filling. It came with the usual bluish grey rice + 4 meaty medium pieces of chicken + telur masin + crushed fish crackers + chicken floss + ulam. Chicken floss?? Yup, I don’t think I’ve had this particular dish with floss before but hey, I liked it. The fried chicken was slightly ‘berempah’, it provided extra ummph to the dish as a whole. Then, there was the sambal …. ‘memang kaw’. It was potent. If you want spicy, this was really spicy. Just a small dose of it makes a big difference. It was gooood. All you got to do is mix it all up and you are all set. A delicious dish indeed.
The savouries (i to iv, vii) were really interesting, in particular i, iii and iv. II was really pretty too. Overall an interesting fusion experience, with much Indian influence.

In the morning, Restoran Sun Fatt Kee 新發记餐室 (PJ Seapark) offers the famous "Sister Curry Mee". But in the evening, although the shop is closed, the shop rent its outdoor spaces to a Bak Kut Teh stall as well as the famous PJ Seapark "Bumbung Nasi Lemak"! The stall offers only one recipe, Nasi Lemak with fried chicken plus drinks such as teh tarik.

Nasi Lemak - Nothing luxurious hidden in the pack; just rice, peanuts and sambal chilli. Even though the rice was cold, you can't deny the richness of the coconut milk that enveloped each grain of rice. Chilli was the sweet and slightly spicy type i personally enjoyed. In summary, it's a small and simple appetizer to whet my appetite!
