Even after a long layoff of not stepping into Madam Kwan's, I have to say that the food is still as I remembered though a tad overpriced (more so now that the prices have increased further)! The food may not be as intriguing as the story behind Madam Kwan's but kudos to the team for maintaining the standards and tastes all these years.....since 1977!

Taste:9/10(Delicious. I like their peanut sauce chicken as the meat is tender and the rich and creamy peanut sauce flavour absorbed into the chicken, makes this dish quite good. The oxtail soup is tasty with strong aromatic of local spices flavour. The soup is thick and the broth is tasty with their rice. The daging rendang Selangor is good but its not that memorable. The meat still not tender enough and this type of rendang is a bit wet. Bubur som som dessert is very good if you like very sweet stuff. I personally like the dessert. But if you don't like sweet, I don't think you will like such super intense sweetness of gula Melaka).

Their Nasi Lemak set came with some fragrant coconut milk rice, some Sambal, Fried Anchovies and Peanuts, half a Hard Boiled Egg, some Prawn Sambal and a small piece of Chicken Rendang. Their Coconut Milk Rice was above average. Being a restaurant of class, I definitely expected better quality. Nevertheless, it was still acceptable levels and my rating for this shall be 6/10.

Their Fish Head Curry was really good. It was the only dish today that met out expectations. The flavours were awesome and the curry was perfect. I would rate their Fish Head Curry at 8/10
