Being a Michelin awarded restaurant. De.Wan restaurant is must try restaurant. Not only will i try it but i will definitely come back for more food in future, maybe to try out other De.Wan outlet. In terms of price, it is a little expensive but it is all worth it considering the good service, big serving portion, nice environment and tasty food. It is worth every single cent paid.
Reasons to visit De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan: family recipes not often found in restaurants in KL; OTT décor (love it); must order the Nasi Lemak Pandan, Kerabu Mee Hoon Nyonya Bunga Telang and Johor Laksa.
For the coming Chinese New Year celebration, for a change, why not take the family or have a friends gathering to savour Malay cuisine? At De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan, there are CNY Set Menus for group dining, for groups of 8-10 pax at RM1,388 & RM1,688 and a bigger set at RM1,888 for 10-12 pax.
Staff are pretty good, and the restaurant is comfortable enough. In fact the only problem is the price which is really high for Malay/Malaysian food. It does feel a bit too high to justify regular visits, but if you wanted to do a fancy-ish trip with friends it might suit you.
Their Fish Head Curry was really good. It was the only dish today that met out expectations. The flavours were awesome and the curry was perfect. I would rate their Fish Head Curry at 8/10
Update: I did return, and when not busy it was a very different experience. Staff were more friendly, and got the order right. There had also been changes to the menu to bring in more interesting options. It’s still an expensive alternative to other sandwich shops, but much less frustration means you’ll feel you get more for that money. I have upgraded the score as a result.
It’s an open stall in the concourse of an office building, so you won’t go for the ambience, but the staff are friendly and helpful. Not bad if you fancy some basic food.
The new Queen City Steamboat and Grill is a hidden gem at TREC Jalan Tun Razak, because like where else can you get a great steamboat and grill buffet at an affordable pricing, with amazing view of the Merdeka 118, Tun Razak Exchange on one side, the serene driving range on the other side and perhaps gaze at the sky and perhaps the stars and the moon (on a beautiful night) while dining….
Overall, the taste wasn’t bad, but this is expensive, and the rigidity of the staff might get your blood pressure up. I would say if you like the look of a fixed dish, then go for it, otherwise it might not be worth the aggravation.
