A glass of Cham Hot and Ah Cheng Assam Laksa with Fish (MYR 12.90+ 6% SST = MYR 13.67 nett) but where is the fish? Ok, found it at the bottom of the bowl. It is only half a fish.
When we are at Midvalley Mall and cannot decide on what to eat, our backup plan is to share this meal at Ah Cheng Laksa eatery.
Nasi Lemak Rendang Chicken at MYR 10.90+ (6% SST = MYR 11.55 nett) which is priced a bit lower than the Nasi Lemak Pandan Rendang Chicken (MYR 13.67 nett) at Nyonya Leaf. I like this Rendang gravy because it is full of lemongrass and ginger taste so this is our new place to eat Nasi Lemak Rendang Chicken. The portion of rice given is quite large, more than enough for 2 small eaters
Nasi Lemak Chicken Curry at MYR 8.75 nett with a drink. There is one piece of chicken breast meat and one piece of potatoes in the curry. Taste acceptable.
This plate of quarter roast chicken costs MYR 1.80 nett only. We topped up MYR 1 nett to get chicken leg but my friend at another table did not top up but still got a whole chicken leg. This promotion is available on the 18th of every month till further notice.
Our Malaysian food is internationally acclaimed but sometimes sitting in a food court or an old coffee shop without the comfort of air conditioning can pose a problem for some. Kafe Sepiring, a Uniquely Malaysian Restaurant, however, is bringing these world famous dishes to its restaurant for a cosy dining experience. An All-In-One place where you can get to taste and savour the good authentic Malay cuisine as well as Chinese or rather the Malaysian delicacies from all around the country.

Those of you in Mid Valley, Meet Chuck Two Sons which is a new establishment from the folks who bring you classic recipe at Sri Melaka. First of all, to clarify that they are not Two Sons Bistro at Publika (which I thought they are). An outlet that sits at the far end corner that makes them a hidden gem at Mid Valley or located next to Brotzeit that brings you good food from the Northen region. Their cooking method brings me a good childhood memory taste as it is very much similiar to my grandma kampung cooking style.
Chuck Two Sons Mid Valley Megamall KL is prides for their Nyonya delicacies hails from Northern Region, with recipe pass down for three generations; and crab laksa – is seriously something not to be missed.
Delicious platter filled with 5 types of food item - 5 spice chicken rolls (similar to ngo hiong), crispy popiah, prawn kerabu, chicken and shrimp wanton and deep fried dumplings (sui gao) with what I thought was salted egg yolk fillings in them but later, I noticed that the poster printed "cheesy fortune cookies" as one of the items so it must be that this dumpling is filled with cheese and not salted egg yolk.
Deep fried tilapia served with ulam - long beans, lady fingers, petai, cucumber, ulam raja and daun pegaga. The ulam is refreshing since some of them are raw and some of them are lightly blanched so we finished all of them in no time at all. The fish is crispy and tasty. It is quite similar to this Dancing Fish.
Flavourful Nasi Ulam and Nasi Minyak. The Mutton in the curry is tender and delicious. I think the prawns are grilled before having the Tamarind sauce poured over them because I can taste the natural sweetness of the prawns brought out by grilling. The prawns are very fresh and I hope they will always be this way when I visit this eatery again.
Please take note that AK Fishball is HALAL certified. They are open from 10 am to 10 pm and located at Lower Ground The Gardens Mid Valley. The food here is fresh, healthy and delicious and it is good for family with kids. Do check out their noodles and do let us know what you think.
